just needing a little reassurance after vasectomy

Thread Starter

Hello all!  This is my first time posting in this particular thread...

I have a three month old daughter, and my husband had a vasectomy yesterday.

we decided to do this for the following reasons:

I had pregnancy complications, namely hyperemesis and severe depression

i also had labor complications and transported to a hospital after 36 hours for a C section

we want to be able to afford to send our daughter to a wonderful montessory school/ elementary school, and beyond, but could not afford the kind of education we want for 2 children.

we feel it is the ecologically responsable thing to do.

We want to be able to focus all of our energy onto raising one child, instead of having a split focus.

I am not looking for advice, the vasectomy has already happened.  I am just feeling a little blue knowing I won't be having anymore children.  I still feel that we made the right choice, but I am sad.

Can anyone offer me some solace about the benefits of having an only child?

I hope everyone is doing well today!  thank you!

Hello, sorry to know you are feeling blue greensad.gif It must have been a tough decision. I cant offer you much because I do not share your need for mothering more than one kid. We can afford more kids but we dont want anymore.
As for benefits, I have finally concluded, that any child who has caring responsible parents, with or without siblings will do just fine. We worry too much. There are kids who have no one in this world and manage to survive, humans are tough smile.gif
Your baby will grow up and have the whole of humanity as his family.

Give yourself time to mourn your decision if need be, but dont feel too bad.
