Omigod!  jaw2.gif  You're gonna be outnumbered.  I'm so happy they are all looking healthy and active!  Congratulations!

Having all boys really simplifies things! Their clothes are way easier to match.

Sure they may be fencing before their first birthday, but you can just add helmets and safety goggles to their simple outfits and you're golden.

I'm joking, of course. Little boys are so sweet. There is a definite "hit things with sticks" stage but it's not too hard to redirect from brother's head to drum.

Outdoorsy  Welcome over to this thread!!!!!  So glad you are here!!!!!

Cananny--I know folks tend to make a big fuss over how energetic/crazy/aggressive boys "are"...which is one of my great annoyances, partially because every boy is different and partially because my little guy is a fairly easy going, sweet and empathetic human being (as is my godson, who wept as a preschooler when taken to one of those ren fair jousts because the knight got a "boo boo").  So, sure you may have crazily energetic, kinetic children who bounce off of each other like ping pong balls--or you could have a mix of chillness and nuttiness or a trio of sensitive mellow kiddos (or a mix in each of all of these qualities--which is probably the most likely case!)  So, congratulations AGAIN--you will have three amazing human beings to snuggle and love!!!

Kateadelle—I’m glad your providers are willing to work with you! And I think being ready early is probably the best plan, considering what a potential time-suck the holidays can be. Plus, if you end up finished with home stuff and needing something to do, there are always holiday baking/crafting opportunities to fill up the time!

Nos—I can’t believe how quickly your pregnancy is going! Well, for me, anyway. smile.gif How have the murals been coming?

Mami—too cute! We had a little flower outfit for Edie, too, but it wasn’t as adorable (more of a sleeper thing with some petals on it). And the muscles on your DS crack me up.

Outdoorsy—Welcome! And a big congrats! Yay for a good ultrasound, too!

Cananny—holy heck! Congrats on three baby boys! I hear you on wanting a mix, but I actually think that having three brothers is going to be so awesome—can you imagine how fun that will be? I’m so excited for you!

Thanks to all for the food advice—I’m not too worried. One of my good friends did BLW with her second (all homemade baby food with the first) so I have been reassured mightily that she doesn’t actually NEED solid food yet. It’s just sad that she doesn’t like it as much as I expected her to! But she’s been having fun with bananas, and we’re starting to hand over chunks of other stuff, too, as she seems interested. I’m sure she’ll get there, since at some point milk will not be on the menu any more—but since that day is a ways off, I’m not too concerned.

cananny. . holy wow!  I have to say I LOVE having a boy, he is the most loving, kissable, kind creature I know.  I know what you mean about wanting a mix but I always thought I wanted a girl and now can not imagine life without my sweet little boy!!

isa.. one more thing about food.  for us DS hated a lot of food until i started using spices and things.  Like he would not eat sweet potatoes but would eat them when they were cooked with pork, would not eat pears but loved them steamed with vanilla and cinnamon. . but seems like you are fine and relaxed and yes 99% of babies will eat when they need to eat!

Cordelia, it's probably more like 99.9%.  The 0.1% are the ones who need feeding tubes (and will have them before they go home from NICU).  :D

Anyone hear from MidwifeSteph lately? I'm in PDX too, and a friend mentioned that "her midwife, Stephanie, just had her first baby." Pretty sure that's Steph! If you're lurking, congrats!

(PS, I have a new username!)

Congratulations, Outdoorsy! :-)

Seraf, that is an amazing birth story. Thank you so much for sharing it, and in such detail! I read it to my partner and we were both amazed. I would have been freaking out, but you guys were so calm and just rolled with it! Wow!!!

I am back to struggling with insomnia. I fall asleep quickly but after the first or second nighttime feeding I am not able to fall back asleep most nights. The stuff my ND recommended helps sometimes but apparently is not quite enough most of the time. I am feeling pretty destroyed these days. It's been hard. Even with tons of sweet support from friends. Tomorrow morning (in a few hours) I'm seeing my ND got a more thorough visit so i am really hoping that will help!

Wylie is amazing. He is so sweet! i am completely in love with him. the tricky thing is that he will only sleep on our bodies, no matter how many things we try. I am no longer physically able to sleep with him on top of me, so he's been sleeping on my partner. I'm wondering what we will do when he also can no longer sleep comfortably with a baby on top of him!

Love to all of you!

Planet: I also struggle with insomnia- I have had a problem with it for years and I have a 15 month old that requires no sleep and wants to nurse all night long it is has made it so much worse. I use melatonin- it doesn't always work. I also do progressive muscle relaxation- it helps to relax me enough to fall alseep. Sometimes. If nothing works, I usually end up reading. Good luck, I know it sucks.

Just popping in to give a little update. We had an ultrasound at 8 weeks yesterday, and everything looks great. Looked like a little gummi bear, and it even did a little dance for us. The OB didn't tell us the hb rate, but it certainly was beating away faster than I could count. We also told my wife's parents this past weekend while we were visiting, and even though it was early, I am glad we did. They were very happy. Now we have to decide what to do as far as testing for chromosomal abnormalities, which we should get done in three weeks if we are doing it.

Thanks everyone!!! We are excited and only had a moment of sadness that we wouldn't have a daughter but I think three boys are going to be alot of fun!
I feel like I'm starting to connect to them a little more now and they are starting to move more...
We have names:)

Gage Daniel
August Michael
Finn Edward

The middle names are family names smile.gif

Congrats east it's always amazing to hear the hb !
We chose no testing because no matter what the test would say we could never terminate ... Plus we had to go through alot to get these babies:)

Planet... I'm sorry you are not sleeping well... I have good days and bad days of sleep... It's hard to find a comfy position:)
Your son is absolutely adorable!!!

Afm... Almost 20 weeks! Still tired and finding it hard to drink enough water lately... I get really bored of the taste ... I need to keep my water intake up I've been scolded a few times:(
We had our shower sat! We were very blessed we got three carseats( infant ones) so that's a huge relief.. Lots of clothes and home made blankets!!!
And diapers ... We plan to do cloth but for newborn days disp might come in handy or to have in diaper bags just as back up smile.gif

Nores hope u are feeling well
Kate same to you

Hey guys, just a little note from your threadkeeper that I'm headed out of town for nine days, and will do updates when I get back (after Thanksgiving). Pokey, easttowest, and Outdoorsy, I put you guys in the June 2013 category, though I'm not sure if that's accurate. If not, I will correct when I return.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Cananny--I love the names! And good luck with the water--I hated how it tasted all the way through. Lemon juice, crystal light, and iced tea (I really like the pomegranate and raspberry herbal ones) help. Also, I don't know if you're having a hard time getting in the calories you need for those babies (I know your dr was a jerk at first, but now you're eating for a whole family!), but I really got into chocolate milk for a while.

Planet--Sorry about not sleeping! I had a few weeks of that around the same time with Edie--sad to say it just went away on its own, so I have no advice, but I hope you start getting more sleep soon!

AFM--Babycakes has croup, which means that she's basically fine but sounds like she's dying (raspy breath, awful cough, etc). Not fun for her mamas. She doesn't seem bothered in the least, which is nice, I guess.

QOTD--It's a llittle early, but is anyone doing anything crafty for the holidays? I've been working on a felt advent calendar--it's a tree with 24 little pockets underneath--on each day you get to fish out the ornament that matches that day and hang it on the tree. I'm having so much fun! I already have plans to make another one for a friend, plus about a million other things on pinterest that are begging to be made. Trying to tell myself to do one thing at a time, though.

What pronouns do you and your family members use? My partner and I both use she - the cats are two hes and a she

If you're pregnant, when are you due? Expecting our first on June 23, 2013

Thanks, DESERTcarrot.gif, for the veggie parade! And to pokey, seraf, nosreves, knitting, cananny, wishin, isa, and planet (hope I didn't forget anyone) for welcoming me!

I'm busy trying not to think about the mild nausea. Unfortunately, the thing that seems to help the most is eating... often. Also looking forward to my "welcome group" appointment at the ob/midwife's tomorrow. I am just transitioning from the fertility doc, so this will be my first time at a new practice. The first visit is in a group setting. Then I have two appointments the last week of November -- one for a full exam and bloodwork, and one for an ultrasound.

AOTD,the only crafting I've done has been pants for boys.

Welcome.gif lea!  So glad you are joining the group.  Congratulations!

E2W - I'm so glad the ultrasound was great!  How exciting to see the little one moving around!

AFM- I'm sorry I don't have time for personals now.  I was out of town for a few days, and I am just catching up.  I went to Dallas.  My aunt and uncle just moved there and my Mom and 2 of my sisters flew out so we could all hang.  We had a lovely time.  My family loves to nap so I didn't miss much with my fatigue.  Plus, I got to tell all of them in person that we are expecting!  They were very very happy for us.  I also called my other sister and told her, and I called my Dad and his wife before my trip to tell them.  Everyone is excited.  My FIL is very excited to be a Grandpa and he sent us a sweet card last week.  We are starting to tell our friends too.  It's kind of fun to be able to talk about it now.  I'm really tired and I should go home now and rest.  Jet lag is no good when you're pregnant.

There was a question last week about Thanksgiving.  We're not quite sure what we are doing.  We will definitely make all the food even if it's just for us.  Most of our friends are going to be out of town so we have no stragglers to pick up.  If anyone in the 'hood needs a place to celebrate, let me know.
