TTC while Nursing in NOVEMBER - Page 2

Continued negative tests but holding out hope for another few days.  Not buying any more tests, though.  I am trying to meditate on being good with what is.

How is everyone else doing?

Sitting at waiting to ovulate. Just when my sex drive and ovulation came back, construction behind our apartment started. I'm having such bad nights, and my sexed rive is directy correlated with my amount of sleep. Hopefully ovulation happens next week after I catch up on some zzzz 's.

Hi mamas!

My phone won't let me bold but I'd love to be added and jump in!
I have a lovely 19 month old nursling who just started to sleep better at night (down to one wake up since I switched her to heavy duty sposies overnight. I'm not thrilled to use them but I can't argue with the results). Since I'm sleeping well again and DD has stopped teething for the moment, DH and I have decided that sometime within the next year would be good timing for TTC. I'm a little worried about her weaning when I get pregnant but I'm 32 and would definitely like to have our second (and intended to be final) baby before I'm 35.
I've had AF back for over a year now and getting preggo the first time was easy so I feel very optimistic and grateful. For the last few months I've started feeling very mild cramps and breast sensitivity about two weeks after my period and I wonder if these are signs of ovulation?
For the time being, DH and I are just going with the flow as opportunities arise but if I don't get "knocked up" before March (DD's second birthday) then we will take a more active approach.

Hope to get to know you ladiesbetter in the coming weeks. Happy thoughts and lots of positive pee sticks for everyone!

I apologize for my absence on here! lotsa busy goin on in my life currently! I wanted to share my experience with Vitex! I was waiting on my first PPAF to arrive (pretty impatiently) and decided to give it a try, I took 800mg a day in capsule form and within a couple weeks I found that I had a thermal shift and definitely O'ed!  I just had my first PPAF!  I am sure my body was trying to O before I tried Vitex, and I feel that it helped nudge things along for sure. So now I am waiting to O again! It will take me a bit to catch up on everyone's situations, but I am always reading and cheering for you all!  I think my DH and I will be taking a few cycles to get some of our life in better balance before TTC ....mixed feelings about that, but it will be ok! I will definitely be back when the right time arrives. I truly wish you all the best of luck and if anyone is waiting on that first PPAF, consider Vitex! <3 <3 <3!

You have been added Skycheat!!  Welcome.gif

So sorry Emily11Megan :(  Hugs.  I hope you get to where you need to be soon.hug2.gif

boobamama!  hey there!!  awesome about the vitex!!! keep us posted!!  let me know if you want me to move you anywhere special :)

Audrey the waiting is SO hard!!!  DS nurses SOO flipping much still.  He's cutting two molars right now. yikers!  He will be 2 years next month!

Blonhrt: I dont have anything that would be helpful!  But now I know who to ask about my BFing issues wink1.gif

Cant wait to see how our ladies in the TWW already will do!

AFM:  DH and I have barely touched each other all month.  We've been sooo busy and I'm staying up too late now, he's heading to bed early.  Plus we both just feel fat and icky.  I think TTC is messing up our grove seriously.  Im just never in the mood.  Despite GOBS and GOBS of maca.  Im already on to my second bag!  Dont think I can keep spending $22 a month on it... especially if its not working.  I got what I THOUGHT was a +OPK today and 2pm.... but at 830pm tonight it was already gone.  And this mornings was -.  So, now I dont know WHAT to think.  Im just hoping I O ASAP, because otherwise I will have too short of an LP like last month.

Does everyone who get +OPKs get a DARKER line than the control or just the same color line?  Mine have never really been darker... so now I'm wondering am I anovulatory?  Are these just practice cycles?  Any ideas?

Hi Ladies!  Still working to encourage some eggs here... DD just turned a year, and we'll officially start TTC on Jan 1.  I've been charting temps & cervical position.  Hard to tell with cervix, because in general it just feels so different than pre-baby!  But, no real signs, and hardly any CM either.  I've started taking vitex tincture- I made it about 2 years ago and still have it.  Too old?  Should I toss it and by new?  Are capsules different in terms of effectiveness?

We're still co-sleeping, and far from night-weaning.  I usually get 2-3 stretches of 5-6 hours between pumping/nursing per week.  I think I need to be offering her more solid food (we did BLW and have been pretty lax about offering solids).  The other thing is I'm wondering how much of an impact body fat/weight has on starting ovulation post-baby.  I'm about 10-15 lbs under pre prego weight, and my BMI is just under 20.  I wonder how much of a difference this actually makes?  I exercise regularly, and think I probably need to cut back on exercise, at least intensity.  Good thing we have the holidays coming up!

Ok, so here I am at around the days I was at last month....when I was convinced I was pregnant. All those signs turned out to be ovulation, so we are DTD as much as we can for a while, see if we can catch this pesky eggie. So funny, all the symptom obsessing and testing caused me to miss out on dtd around ovulation last month, haha.

My ff says I'm not supposed to ovulate until the 14th, so I don't know if we can even conceive as of last night, but we will see I guess.

On a different note, what are some of your tricks to try and dtd with a little one around? We got creative last time, and set up DS with Legos and a movie and it bought us some alone time. But it has me thinking, what is the age where we won't be able to dtd while he's awake, risking he will be concerned or upset? He's 18 months so if he's not sleeping, which is the majority of our alone time, we can distract him for a short while, and if he's in the room he will usually just say hi and walk away.

I don't know why I'm thinking of this, maybe because we are ttc, and I'm running scenarios for what it will be like with two little ones around, lol. smile.gif

Blonhrt88 that is a great question! I've never been comfortable with DTD while DD is awake, not even as a newborn! We reserve intimacy time to naps on the weekend or right after bedtime. It just creeps me out personally (not saying its wrong, just not for me) and even if I hear DD mumble in her sleep it really kills the mood for me. You're lucky he will stay occupied for a few minutes. My DD (19 months) has started playing a bit now but she checks in with me every two minutes. It works for DTDishes but not DTD lol.

I'd love to hear other ideas though! :-)

MyKidKissTrees, sorry to hear that TTCing is killing your mood.  I'm still feeling so blah about TTC this month, even though my worries about my LP being too short last month probably were unfounded.  My DH was away all week when I was having gobs of EWCM.  By the time we DTD last night my CM had returned to creamy white, although my cervix was surprisingly still very open.  Today is CD15 and I think I'm now into my 2WW, although I'm quite sure we won't get a BFP this month.

Blonhrt88, like you, I started to suspect I was pregnant last month (wishful thinking; I think I was too optimistic because it was my first month TTC).  Hopefully all your efforts to DTD this month will be successful!  My youngest is 19 months and I definitely can't DTD while she is awake so we always end up sacrificing sleep.  She wakes after 45 minutes and then again at 1.5 hours after going to bed, and then she sleeps soundly until I go to bed (we co-sleep).  So as long as she isn't sick or teething, we can time our fun to fit in with her sleep cycles.  If you can manage it while your LO is awake, that's great!  Maybe a short video (especially if you don't normally use TV) would be another good distraction?

Hang in there all you mamas waiting to be ready.  It's one thing waiting for your first PPAF but once AF has arrived, I find my hormones make me baby crazy, and I can only imagine how tough it must be to wait!

skycheattraffic....I just laughed out loud, DTDishes, HAHAHAHA! No kidding. I understand totally, different things kill the mood for different people. I personally don't mind LO being around, and I'm lucky enough DH feels the same! It would be hard if we clashed!

angelkissedkids...we use sleep cycles too! It's a huge turn on for me! Hahaha. Just knowing he is fed, sleeping and happy makes me verrrry relaxed!

hahaha.  omg, all this talk of DTD with kiddoes is hilarious!!!

So, we got an almost positive OPK in the afternoon on the 8th.  So, yesterday morning before DH left for work we sent the kids downstairs to play... uh... lets just say only one of us had enough time... because SOMEONE decided to do a back flip off the couch and land on their face!  But its was the important person for babymaking, so I didn't mind taking the hit.  haha.  But usually we are a after sleeping DTD couple.  Mostly because our oldest is 5!  Which is just WAY too old to risk it.  She would totally be traumatized probably.  I'm hopeful though because yesterday I was getting super positive OPKs all day.  Like first line way darker than control!  YOOHOO!!!  I wonder if I just didnt ovulate last month... because it really didn't get THAT dark.

TWW for me now :)  WOOT!  This could be our month.  I will probably try to seduce him later.  Our DD is spending the night with family... so... were just way more in the mood when theres no chance she'll wake up.  bow-chika-bow-wow.

While we are talking kiddos and TTC awkwardness, lately DD has developed a new habit when she catches a glimpse of DH naked (shower, getting dressed, etc): she makes elephant noises lol. I guess it looks like trunk?! She just says "mama" when she sees me naked - her word for nursing. I guess I'm not as exotic lol

Hahaha, my lo is with us, so we are sneaking in time at least every other day, but I'm really excited we are ovulating around the same time! Congrats on your big pos ov. Packs! I'm not in the two yet, I'm thinking I'm just fertile right now, getting ready to ovulate very soon. Can't wait to be waiting with you!

That's exciting about your +ve OPK KidKissTrees.  What I thought was creamy white CM must have been a fluke.  Lots more EWCM going on today so there will be another definite date night tonight for me as well. My retroverted uterus made it really difficult to check my cervix this morning, I'm VERY high, and more than a fingertip open but my cervix is definitely firm, not soft, so perhaps I'm still a few days away from ovulating, or I did ovulate already?  If there is no BFP for us this month, I think I'll trying using OPKs.  Have fun ladies :-)

Thanks ladies Im pretty hopeful this time love.gif we dtd again just for good measure! LH was showing slight negative today.  the surge is ending! so now i can hardly wait to start peeing on the other color sticks :)  if this month doesnt work out I will go to the store and pick up a nice organic merlot and then start looking forward to next month!

Wow, maybe I can come over? Hahaha, a nice organic merlot sounds like a great idea, almost makes me want to put off ttc this month to do just that!

Not really though. I was actually thinking about that last nit as I had two glasses of chianti. I read something somewhere about how alcohol will only have a bad effect after a certain time. Makes sense because most ttc nights involve a little wine anyway, Hahahahaha. I think it's pretty early though, basically when you can test positive on a test, alcohol could harm a pregnancy so it works out good!
