In Search of GREAT VBAC Midwife in Austin, TX!

I'm looking to find a local midwife in preferably in south Austin.  My first child was a very low-risk pregnancy with no complications, however, was a c-section birth due to late deceleration of heart rate (a situation not likely to repeat itself).

 

This pregnancy, I'm looking for a midwife, instead of an OB/GYN.  The midwife must be very educated and supportive of VBACs and have a history of helping clients successfully obtain a VBAC birth.  I'm also seeking out the advice of the local ICAN chapter, too.

 

If you have any recommendations for a great VBAC midwife, I would greatly appreciate it.

It would be a little far for you to go, but I really like Emma Morrison in Pflugerville.  This is here website http://www.beautifulbeginningbirth.com/  I have only been to her for a consultation and then one appointment, but she has been very open and supportive of my desire to VBAC.

I have heard good things about the woman at http://www.austinabc.com/, but they would not take me on because of high BMI.

I saw on the ICAN list that you've already gotten lots of recs and most of the recs are probably closer to you, but just in case you need more I had a wonderful VBAC at the Central Texas Birth Center.  It is in Georgetown, but they also do home births.  At the time of my VBAC in May  I believe they had a 100% VBAC success rate.  Good luck!
