OMGosh, Baby Bean! I'm so glad baby girl is doing good, though!

I can't remember the exact name for it, but remember reading about it and kinda laughing about it when we were debating TTC #3... anyways, it's where you're just as panicky if not more about your 3rd pregnancy than you were at your 1st... anyways any of you #3 momma's feeling that way? With my other babies I really had no worries(minus the confirmation I WAS in labor with DD, that was scary to think in a few hours I'd be a MOM, and the pain of no drugs with DS, but other than that.. notta) with my other pregnancies, but this one I'm a total wreck! I feel like a first time momma right now!

AlaskanMomma, I am the same way! With my DD, I was cool, even during the csection (up til my friend that was with me said 'she's here!', which point I bawled like a baby lol!) Now, totally freaking out! This is #2 for me and I. Am beyond nervous. It crazy!

I had a midwife appt yesterday and I'm super disappointed. I waited 45 minutes to see my midwife for 5 minutes. Literally.  I took a urine test & heard the HB and that was it. Then she sent me on my way with a phone # to call to set up my anatomy scan for next mth.  Now I don't even want to go back and see her next month. The scan will be at the hospital with their US techs, not in my midwife's office anyways. Why waste my time going to see her for 5 minutes again?  I miss my homebirth midwife I had last pregnancy :(

I tried asking her a question about the size & hardness of my uterus, without even feeling it she says "oh yeah that's normal. It should be 2 finger widths below your belly button now."  But she did no palpating. She seemed super rushed and I am still kind of mad.  So ladies - what does your uterus feel like? Is it hard like mine - I just don't remember it being so hard with my other pregnancies.

My uterus is VERY hard... not sure if it's because this is my 4th pregnancy or what. I could never feel it with the others even when my care providers would place my fingers on it(it all felt the same to me), but I can distinctly make out the uterus and it's hard as a rock.

The scan today went great! Baby was super active and in this picture we got his feet up by his head! So cute :)

That really stinks, I'm sorry you're dealing with that. I can relate greensad.gif The mw I had for DD2 & DD3 passed away last year and it was heart breaking. She was the most amazing and special woman and I always wished my apts were weekly all the way through pregnancy because I just loved her so much. She literally made me cookies while I was in early labor and brought them to my house when she came for the birth.

So, having to choose a different mw this time has been really really hard. I like her, really. But I was supposed to have an apt last week and I ended up canceling it because it was supposed to be the same day as the anatomy scan which I had to cancel because of stupid insurance issues so I just canceled both apts and haven't bothered to reschedule the mw apt yet. I'm feeling the baby lots more and feeling confident that everything is going fine. I just don't have the desire to drive out to her home/office (even though it's closer then my previous mw's...) I don't know, it's hard to explain.

We had our 18 week ultrasound today. Most importantly, everything is healthy and just right with the baby, and also, we learned baby is a boy! Here he is!

alaskanmama I have plenty of worries and I think it just comes with experience and knowledge of the things that can go wrong...for me I've had traumatic births so that is what I am worried about.  We had a sch this pg and were basically told baby wouldnt' make it from the start so it's been rough and I don't take anything for granted.  After 2 m/c previously I don't think the anxiety is ever quite gone...but it also makes me thankful and appreciate the miracle that is life.

Greenlea that sounds really frustrating...the whole point to me anyway in seeing a midwife is that they take more time to get to know you and are more involved in your pg.  I've had similar experiences with OB's with one foot out the door and that's why we went with midwives.  I'm so sorry to hear that!

Oh my gosh CONGRATS to those who had their scans and I am loving the adorable u/s pics!!!!  I can't wait for mine (early Dec!)

The funneling above the cerclage has gotten worse and will likely only continue to get worse as baby grows. Basically the cerclage is the only thing keeping her safe inside! The doc actually said we caught this JUST.IN.TIME. He said if we hadn't by this week or next, we would have lost her! I burst into tears when he said that! Way to close for comfort! He has started me on some progesterone cream as he thinks I've been contracting a bit as well. I'm to continue with extremely strict bed rest (I can't even sit up) and go back in two weeks. They are also going to start the "swab test" at my next appt and every 2weeks for the duration. I guess it's a test that can determine whether you are going to go into labor in the next two weeks. And he said if I ever get a positive from that test, I will be admitted immediately and stay for the duration of the pregnancy. Scary stuff. But as I lay here I am just trying to focus on the good stuff! I have awesome doctors! And our miracle is perfect! All the while hoping and praying my body holds up. *sigh*

Gosh BeanBean that is so scary!  I'm so thankful you got the cerclage in time and that they are being so proactive.  <3  I pray that you will make it farther than you and your Drs ever expect.  Hang in there mama  I'm so thankful you have the support you need!

Sorry I've been MIA... DD had the 24 hour flu this past Tuesday and it hit me Thursday night. Only I wasn't just puking like she did. I had it coming out of both ends, at the same time even =(. So yesterday was a wash because I was in bed nearly all day. I'm still not feeling super good but I haven't puked or the other thing since early yesterday. I'm trying to catch up but I'm still quite out of it. Just wanted to check in.

Hope you feel better soon, Tiff4ny!

hey guy's I'm new in here,

19 weeks on Monday! anatomy scan on the 28th. can't wait.

this is our second pregnancy (we lost the first last year at 14 weeks and a hellish time of threatened miscarriage and bed rest etc for 9 weeks of it.)

the funny part is i have several friends due the same DAY as me (April the 16) so we have made a betting game of it LOL

I love the scan pix they make me smiles and giggles. DH likes me going through other peoples with him so i can point out different things in them that are visible when the shots were taken. We are getting a 3d/4d ultrasound done need to call and see if they offer picture and video etc (you can bet for sure if we can get a video i will be posting it!)

Everyone is actually super excited about this pregnancy. the last one the MIL freaked out... big time, and it wasn't a pregnancy before marriage thing we were married for a year before i got pregnant O_o go figure... she was so proud of her niece (younger then my hubby) getting pregnant before she was married and my mother in law is apparently a "very religious person" she was even rather rude when we lost the baby in the first pregnancy. (hubby isn't his mothers biggest fan anymore)

ANYWAYS! been feeling baby flutters since weeks 12 by week 14 it was little jabs. now baby likes keeping me up at night from 11pm until 1am-ish by tap-dancing around my bladder and hitting around where my round ligaments are.  during the daytime it tends to kick outwards (mean baby trying to get me use to up all nights! lol)

My mom headed down to visit (17 hour drive) and brought down a vast amount of stuff for the baby and is buying us a crib for Christmas. so far we have almost all the big furniture and haven't had to spend a dime, this is her first grandchild so she went a little crazy, a store in her town was going out of business so she swarmed in with my grandmother and bought everything they knew we needed (that she knew we would like). she definitely knows me well without even asking she matched baby clothes patterns with the nursery theme (African safari animals)

Me and some cousins are pregnant at the same time though they are a month to two months ahead of me. they were all jealous because i started showing earlier then they did (they are no their first pregnancies though).

Baby's BPM is generally in around 155 and the bets on gender over my fb have started (the status on it has over 30 people guessing gender or staying neutral only 3 stayed neutral) girl has most votes, boy doesnt have as many but its getting closer.

Has anyone else been having acne or eczema issues?? i have bad eczema to start the acne is a whole new world for me O_o i was the one with the occasional zit in high school now i think i get a new one once every couple days. my eczema  has been going crazy i have had it my whole life but it has never got to the point where i can't control it. best results i have got is tea tree oil and witch hazel once a day but that still isn't working as good as it use to. i use an organic all natural aloe moisturizer over my eczema as well. i am completely at a loss as to what to do for it, i just know ts getting more and more annoying (especially on my upper chest between the top of my breasts and my neck)

my nipple eczema has actually calmed down a little since i got pregnant skin has been dry but i just keep moisturizing but the actual bumpy eczema on them has lessened.

(and I've talked with DH about this, and he didn't realize how much I DIDN'T want her there last time, so we're on the same page now, but things are always negotiable :) ) Actually, I've always dreamed of UC'ing to the "max"...having the baby with just DH (though mostly alone) and not telling anyone until after the fact. LOL  My house is usually full of my parents, my grandparents, and eventually some aunts and uncles, but I generally don't mind because I'm on such a high at that point.  And I also like that each time they show up to my house during/right after a successful UC, I am normalizing the experience of truly natural childbirth for them, and showing that it's not always a medical event and a reminder that God not only created my body to do this, but that He is also the ultimate birth "assistant" that no midwife or OB or whoever could ever compare to. :)

Its wrote down right in my birth plan the hospital gave me DH is to be there (obviously) + my doula + my mom if she can drive here in time (17 hour drive O_o). My MIL is NOT allowed to be there when i give birth (in the room she can sit in the waiting room as long as she wants)

we didn't tell my in laws that i was pregnant they saw me at a family gathering and called DH later from what DH said the call went like this:

MIL: I don't want to me rude but is jannette pregnant?
DH: Yes

MIL: OK because i've been pregnant 4 times before and she was round in all the right places, i just didn't want to say anything because i have gained weight in the past little while and i wasn't sure since i have't seen you guys in a while. why didn't you tell us?
DH(stuck in a bind because he didn't want to have to tell them) : Oh well i wanted to get  a card and surprise you.

My response to it all (to DH): Well i told you that they would notice and to expect a phone call it wasn't cold enough to just pop on a big baggy sweater it was almost 80 degrees outside! lol

so yeah i def. know where you are coming from with that.

A question for you guys - what does your uterus feel like? When I'm palpating while laying down it feels really hard to me and still tender to the touch. And at 16 weeks its at my belly button. I don't remember it being so hard with my last pregnancies.

Also - what are your current cravings? Right now for me its chocolate milk, salads, cottage cheese, and salty things.

I was similar in the CM to you, first trimester it seemed ungodly but has slowed down to "normal" now, though i have the occasional day of tons of it.

My uterus is pronounced, but ive been showing since week 14.

Current cravings: milk (milk and more milk!) anything leafy and green with or without a dressing, cheese in general (cream, chedder, mozza,  melted or solid as long as its cheese) and salt & vinegar (i mix it up in a little mini condiment bowl and dip a spoon in it and lick it off the spoon. lol) oh and pickles and mayo like cut into thin spears and dip into mayo like they are weird french fries...

I have tried feeling for my uterus, but maybe I'm too fluffy to find it? Actually, I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, but "everybody else was doing it, so..." redface.gif I think it would be really cool to know, though.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone, I feel much better today.

After I dropped DF off at work, the kids and I stopped at Target for a few things. DD decided she wanted to look around a little, specifically at baby things, and so we did. I learned quite a few things while we were there. I learned that Target carries Maya wraps, which I've been wanting to try, that the Ergo, at least at Target, new, is/will fairly certainly be out of our budget, unless DF convinces me we can afford it (even if we can't...), they have some awesome nursing/pumping stuff, and that right now, they have a bodysuit three piece set for $5! So we picked one out that was GN, and *so* cute! I'm so excited! joy.gif I might have to go to the one in the town closer to us, to see if they have a different style, so I can get another set. Man, I love buying stuff for babies!!!

Sorry I just saw this!  They fit pretty true-to-size IMO.  I always thought the really expensive ones were always running too small in the band and cup.  The lower band on this one is stretcyh, it's thicker though so it doesn't contribute to as much "back fat" as a thinner one (praise the Lord! LOL).

So we got back from our 5 day "vacation" to the funeral in CO on Saturday.  All 3 children did WONDERFUL on the ~32 hours of car travel.  They are great travelers.  I gained a whopping, depressing 5lbs, which just goes to show me that I can't let one day go by during this pregnancy without working my butt off, and I feel so defeated. (though I won't clog this thread, I whined enough in the weight thread)  I grew a lot over the week too, I felt big before but I am extremely, obviously, undoubtedly pregnant to the world now.

So now we are trying to get everything unpacked, get some school done today (I haven't even STARTED our Thanksgiving unit study...oh my goodness, bad mom/teacher!), and hopefully just get back on top of things in general.

Oh yeah, I did have the weirdest dream the other night.  I went into labor a little early (not early enough to nix a UC though) and we had cord prolapse, which is one of my few "big" concerns with homebirth/UC, but we prayed about it and knew I could push baby out immediately while holding pressure off the cord (NO idea how we accomplished it in the dream LOL) and so I DID push baby out and it had a separate cord, meaning there was still another in there.  Freaky.  (not about another, mostly about the cord thing)  I'm no fan of pregnancy dreams.

And cue restless legs at 17 weeks. Ugh.  I've had this with all 3 pregnancies and its the.worst! Anyone else get it & what are your remedies?
