I thought zincum metallicum (I took the Boiron pellets) helped a bit.  I still got cramps and milk RLS even with regular cal/mag and potassium consumption.  I hate it too.

With Black Friday deals coming soon we are thinking about purchasing a big ticket item. Has anyone used a co-sleeper?

We have pretty much decided on buying that (and no crib). As our bed is so close to the floor we would need to buy the "Euro" model. I just wondered if anyone had any thoughts?

I am visiting my parents on the West Coast and friends of the family have already started donating maternity and baby clothes, which is great. Not only is it super helpful - it will be lots of fun to start putting together the baby's nursery in the corner of our bedroom.

More signs this is really happening!

*deep breath in, deep breath out* ACTUAL conversation between my MIL and I..

MIL: "You want a.. home birth?"
Me: "Yeah, ideally.."
MIL: "BUT WHAT IF THE BABY DIES?"
Me: "I hope that doesn't happen, but if the baby dies, I believe that it would probably be inevitable regardless of where I birthed.."
MIL: "But it's safer in the hospital."

...Dying is safer in the hospital?! Lol, I couldn't even do anything besides roll my eyes and change the conversation at this point. Same night she was talking about how I would want the epidural. I think she forgot I had Sylas without one as well... OUT of the hospital to boot :P ;)

Well, I'm considering a home birth after all. Our local hospitals don't have birthing tubs...a few rooms have regular sized bath tubs but there is no way to know if you'll get one...plus, ugh. A regular size tub is like a tiny bucket when you're nine months pregnant and huge. Being in the water is the one thing I most want for pain management. But the birthing center is so expensive for us. And the center is just as close to the hospital as our home is (we live really close to it because we wanted to rent nearby in case DP got into medical school here - this hospital is the teaching hospital and also where the med school campus is located). Anyhow, for much, much, much less than the cost of the birth center, we could rent a birthing tub, AND pay to have a cleaning service get the house spic-and-span before bebe arrives. Those are my two biggest hang-ups about being comfortable laboring at home. So it's on the table now. I have an appointment with the midwives office tomorrow, so I'll talk to them some more and get more info to help me decide. I wonder if they have the inflatable tubs...that would be awesome if we didn't have to pay to rent one.

I have an ultra sound tomorrow to find out the sex of the baby! I am very excited as I will FINALLY be able to start buying stuff for the baby. Yesterday I felt it kick from the outside for the first time! It's only happened once, but I was so happy when it Did joy.giftreehugger.gif

I haven't had restless legs yet and hope not to! I have had some hip/calf achiness. Cal/mag is helping. A bath with epsom salt might make a difference, too! Put a few drops of lavender oil in the bath too and it's quite relaxing!

Today is one of those days where I have felt constantly hungry. Oi! I just can't find anything to make me feel satisfied but I refuse to sit and pig out. Quite the dilemma. Drinking water doesn't put much of a dent in it either so it's not dehydration. Hrmph.

I wonder if I have that, sometimes, but I think it's more of just a habit, now, to move my legs/feet to sooth me to get to sleep. (It comes from ages ago, when I injured my ankle, but every test came back normal, yet I had the pain for seven years before it just stopped. My foster mom wouldn't let me have any pain relievers/medicine or anything to help it, so I would fill the sink with cold water and sit with my foot/ankle in it for as long as I could stand, and when it got numb and/or it got too uncomfortable to stand with my leg up that high, I would lay on the floor and rub it on the carpet. It gave me horrible carpet burn, but it would help some.

I have some serious funk in my nose and throat. I think it's just a sinus infection, but it's driving me nuts. I don't know if I've ever been so stopped up in my life... Anybody know any good home remedies to help me through this? I would rather not go to the doctor. They'll just prescribe antibiotics and I'm not a big fan.

I'm pretty sure insomnia has set in as well. 5AM and I can't get back to sleep for the life of me...

Try a netti pot yet?  When I get really blocked, I have a Walgreens brand one that is a squirt bottle, which I think is more effective at getting in when you're totally blocked, as opposed to the pouring-pot type.  Just be sure you use purified water... NEVER tap water.    I can get like a good quarter cup of junk out of me using that, which would take hours of blowing.

Eating lots of garlic will kill the infection off and vitamin c. Rest if you can!

Re sinus problems:

I've been using this for years. You can get them in smaller packages and most drugstores carry them. I confess, though, I use tap water. It used to be considered OK, and there is no way I am heating up/boiling water to just the right temp each time I do this.

Hand is feeling better this morning! Thank Thor! I tried to keep it up on my body pillow last night (elevation at night is supposed to help). Hopefully, I can avoid getting that uncomfortable to begin with in the future.

We have used one with our last two.  And used a pack n play next to the bed with the first.  The first was fine in her pack n play. I think it was her personality and the fact that the hospital made her cry for an hour and a half in the "warmer".  The last two, insisted on being in bed with me most of the night.  I think they just preferred a body. We are going to use it again though. Our bed it too small for a baby to be in it now.

I had my gender scan today and it's a girl! So happy :-)

Bambi, hope you feel better soon!

Thanks guys!

I started off my morning at 6AM by making homemade Vick's evaporating shower disks. They always work wonders.

I did go to our drug store and found the NeilMed Sinus rinse. I felt like my step father uses this, so I called my mom and she confirmed that it was excellent. I haven't used it yet, but will be in just a little while!

My anatomy scan is next Friday! I'm getting so excited!

Ever since I woke this morning my right foot has been tingly, and later, my right hand. I thought it was because I slept on my right side for a period last night, and on a somewhat hard pull-out couch (on vacation) but I thought it would have gone away shortly after waking. I've done a ton of walking/movement today (at a waterpark!) but it's still there, just the right side. It's not the RLS feeling in my foot.. just tingles.

is that normal??
