The only time I ever have a breakout is when I use anything other than the hot water of a shower to clean my face so I have nothing to offer. Maybe try just doing hot water washes and see if it clears up at all? I am totally skin clueless.

I'm spending my Black Friday celebrating 20 weeks(!!) and will be putting up the remaining exterior decorations before moving back inside to finish what I've started. We have four lit trees in this house right now and I still have a lot of decorating to do before our 6th annual cookie decorating party on Dec 8th. Since this coming on the tail end of me finishing my massive reorg and house detox I have a LOT of work ahead of me. Progress is progress though so I'm pleased.

Thanksgiving was spent at the In-laws. It was just the kids and their spouses and children which was a change from past years. Maybe for the better though as DH's Nonna and DD's namesake passed away in September and we all had that on our mind. So having MILs mother and brother go to her sisters instead this year, and having BIL & SIL come in from the Bay Area for once was a nice mixup and distractor. SIL is 16 weeks pregnant and her bump was as big as mine! Hehe, she has quite the appetite and it's really cute to see because she is so tiny. She is a first time mom so she had a lot of questions that I was happy to give my experiences on. I tried to stress to her that she will have to base everything on what works for them instead of what has worked for others in the past. I think she will do well.

The drama of the night came with my little 2 year old niece. She has had this stye(sp?) on her lower eye lid for the last two months that no doctor was willing to do much too. Finally it's started to get to the point where it looks like a huge zit needing to be popped and the doctor told my L&D RN SIL and my Pharmacist DH to lance it with a sterile 22-gauge needle. !!! I wanted nothing to do with it but my SIL, DH and MIL were all in the bathroom with my little niece trying to do this last night. Oh man.... They managed to lance it enough to release pressure so my SIL was applying heat and some ointment. DH and SIL were so proud of themselves and I was just... no way. I honestly couldn't believe a ped told them to do that. My pregnant SIL kept saying that she would trust them since they are two medical professionals. LOL. DH has wanted to go back to school to be an ER doctor for the last few years but hasn't acted on it because he doesn't want to lose time with me and the kid(s) so instead he reads medical textbooks and other stuff on it and talks in great length to buddies of his who are ER docs. He has this mega medical kit that he takes on the family hunting trips and has these ridiculously weird but totally useful skills. He's one of those geeky types that enjoys reading manuals whenever he can and actually absorbs a lot from it.

Anyway.. Yea, that was our Thanksgiving. It was eventful.... We all came home and were in bed by 9pm. DH had to work today though I hope they will be slow enough to close up and come home early.

Sounds eventful! I have to work today, too. (Actually, I should be getting ready, but... y'know.) DF and the kids are all bummed that I don't have the day off. DD said, "Daddy doesn't have to work, we don't have to go to school, so you should stay home, too!" If I wasn't so short on occurrences, I probably would, but since I am staying until at least mid-late January, I am trying to save them. It just bums me out that this is probably the best place I've worked, and I don't get the day off, and the last place I worked, who were/are *horrible* to their employees let us have the day off.

Sounds like some of you had eventful holidays! I had to work 4-10:30 last night and it was ok till 8:30, then got nuts! I work fast food and it amazed me the amount.t of people that go to FF and eat on Thanksgiving. But I ate good when I got home. I had no appetite for turkey, but ate broccoli rice casserole and regular broccoli casserole. The baby loves it, as I ate half a plate of each! Plus for breakfast today I had the same lol!

She has been really active today, which I'm loving. I finally bought some stuff the other day for her. It was a pack of hats, onsies, and sleeping gowns (the kind that are open at the bottom) I am starting to feel like it is real finally. I am really looking forward to when I get my 3D Ultrasound done (which is at like 30 or 32 Weeks) I am NOT looking forward to the sugar test (I almost passed out when I had the test with my daughter 6 years ago.) Or my Rogam(SP?) Shot that I have to have. Anybody else have to have that shot? I remember it hurting last time.

I am 17 weeks 5 days and I felt the baby kick from the outside last night! I was just laying there with my hand on my belly and it kicked. Very nice to feel. I've been feeling lots of movement but nothing from the outside yet. And I swear it did a somersault this morning.

I keep saying "it" and while we didn't find out the sex with my other two babies, I kind of want to find out with this pregnancy. For one, my uncle's GF is pregnant & due in Feb & having a boy. If I end up having a girl, I won't need my bins and bins of boy stuff, and my sister has bins and bins of girl stuff to give me.  So I can pass it to him and clear up some room for girl stuff. Which would be nice especially since we plan on downsizing our home before baby comes.

My Thanksgiving was lovely. I spent it with my family at my Aunt's. I get along really well with my side.  My sister kept making me mad though. She tends to drink too much and talks too much when she does. She starting giving away my maternity clothes to my uncle's GF, asking me what sizes I had and if Ruth could take some since 1/2 of them belong to my sister anyways. Clearly, as we are pregnant at the same time, I am currently using the maternity stuff I have. I can't give it away to someone righ now.  Then my sister started giving away my baby clothes. Ummm...our babies will only be like 2 mths or less apart depending on when each one is born, and will likely be in the same size. She can't have my baby clothes! I'll be using them. She may be able to use my boy stuff if we find out we're having a girl (plus I have tons of unisex stuff in 0-3 mths). Grrr...I wish she wouldn't drink.

Is it all right for me to post a link to an online sale party I agreed to host? I felt it was relevant because of what it is: freeze dried foods. Most of it is preservative free, and b/c it's flash frozen right away the nutrients and stuff are preserved better than a lot of the fresh stuff you get at the store. Anyhow, I just made a big order for baking supplies (like powdered eggs), and snacking stuff (dried peas, yum! and spinach for adding to smoothies), and I'm planning to order more so I can make a bunch of pre-bagged crock-pot meals for when the baby is born!

I'm going to dump the ingredients in gallon ziplock bags, then I can just dump them into the slow cooker in the morning and add the appropriate liquid to make that day's supper. Most of the products last 25-30 years unopened, and a a year open. So I could pre-make our baby meals now. :D

I'm also thinking I may order some strawberries, because I LOVE the taste of Special K red berries, but it's so pricey and not all that healthy (despite appearances). We've done plain dehydrating of strawberries at home, but it's a lot of work, and it doesn't have the same texture. I'm also thinking they'd make a better snack option than fruit snacks for DD.

Maybe I'm just a big dork, but I think it's sooo cool! Anyhow, details are here: https://www.facebook.com/events/305529156222851/ - And it doesn't matter where you live as long as you're in Canada or the USA.

Nettster, I was just going to ask everyone, what are you doing/ do you do re: bras and your expanding bosom? I am overflowing my largest bra, to the point that I sometimes fall out, and I am at 19 weeks. Do you go and get measured and try a new bra? Just try on a ton of cheapies at Wal-Mart since your size will probably increase more?

As far as the bra discussion... I bought a few new larger ones at around 13/14 weeks and they are getting a bit small but to be honest with being on strick bedrest, I only wear a bra if I have a doc appt. (every two weeks) or if we have company (rarely) wearing a bra makes my "girls" SO sore! So I prefer not wearing one when I can get away with it wink1.gif but I have a feeling a few moe weeks and ill need a new one.

Heard the baby today :D 130 BPM.. so the baby changed from being a girl to being a boy, naturally :P I've had 3 midwife appointments with a "girl" heartbeat rate, this was the first time it fell in the "boy" old wives tale. Needless to say, until Tuesday, I'm relying on old wives tales to keep me sane.. soo.. hahah

My boobs are even more gigantic than normal *shakes fists* I've been buying cheapies from Wal-Mart. Grown 3 cups in the last 19 weeks.. and I started as a D cup, so... fgdghjkdhkgjh my back hurts :(

If the heart rate gender determiner was right! Our girl would be a boy! wink1.gif she has always had a "low" heart rate lol always in the low 130s to mid 140s. Everyone said boy after seeing them and nope! Totally a girl smile.gif
post #253 of 328

The previous heart rates have been 150, 160, and 145. I'm thinking the baby was just being lazy... lol

I also get the Rhogam shot. I guess it does hurt, but I don't remember specifically, and I've had so many of them! I am just so thankful that they are available! I feel so behind everyone since I am due at the end of the month. I am only beginning 18 weeks tomorrow, and my US is scheduled for Tues. I've actually already had 4 US already and I think it's way too many, but because of my age and history I needed them for peace of mind.

Stormy-- I'm only 19 weeks, due the 21st! We find out on Tuesday, too!

It's not a big deal now that we're in the 2nd trimester, but it was hard during the first when each day felt like a year and I was weeks behind. Truthfully, all my other kids have been born at least 12 days early, so I should be OK towards the end.

Is anyone else feeling like they are running out of room in there? It seems this is earlier than with the last ones.  Either way, it's not a good feeling for me.  You'd think being the 4th I'd be used to it by now ....

I went ahead and bought a nice new bra--I went from a DDD to an I (yup, the letter after H) and couldn't squeeze into the old ones anymore. It feels SO much better to have the right size on! (But yes, I did buy a nursing bra, hoping that my breasts will be this size again postpartum.)

Is anyone else feeling the growing-boob "tingles" again? I'm 20w4d, and could swear that they're getting even bigger.

I do my own measurements for bras since i know how to do proper fittings if you go into a good lingerie store they will be able to do  a fitting for you though the easy way to do it is for every inch your bust is over band size go up a cup. (so say your band size is 36 and your bust itself is 37 your an A 38 B 36 C etc etc) you just have to check each bra and see where they measure the band size from some measure from over some from under.

The ones i got today measured from the over bust as opposed to the under bust. so the measurements layed out like this: i was a 37 overbust = 38 band (for the bras i got) with a 45" bust meaning there was a 7 inch difference putting me at a G cup.

When i go bra shopping i walk in with 3 mesurements:

Under-Bust
Bust
and Over-Bust

a good website for it: http://www.herroom.com/bra-fitting-calculator,999,30.html

I bought an actually expandable maternity bra in 2 sizes since i can class with both (on the bigger side of the small one and the small side of the biggest one) so i bought the smaller size ones for now and they should fit later(post partum) the larger ones will work when my milk comes in and i engorge and after that as well.

they are the maternity/nursing combo bras spent 100 but soo much more comfy then wearing normal ones that's for sure and within 2 hours felt sooo much better on my back.

I started at a D as well and i'm at a DDD stage already O_o

as you can guess my back has been killing me.

i can't buy walmart cheapies on a good day non pregnant as if the band size fits the cups are awkward and if the cup fits the band size is off. :(

also ended up buying a 4 pack of plain white onesies at babies r us that were on sale for 7$ so i added them to the bin of baby stuff. mostly for the sake of they were cheaper then everywhere else i have seen and i have a iron on t-shirt design thing that i can use on them to make my own "graphic tees" for the baby (yay for finally finding plain white! so i can do it!)
