Anyone in NYS selective vax and succeed in getting a religious exemption ?

Long story short... we weren't going to do any vaxes bc we wanted to maintain the possibility of down the road schooling, and we were told that if you do any, you lose your exemption. Then we decided to homeschool and were sure we were going to do so. We decided to get the kids just tetanus (which of course meant we had to do D and aP too), since we are always playing in the woods and camping, and they could conceivably contract it. After a few years of trying to find like minded families for the kids to spend time with, it became really challenging. We couldn't find a group that we clicked with. We found an awesome little school and told them about our selectively vaxing. They were fine with it. They didn't realize that there was an official form we were supposed to fill out, and neither did we. Now they are being audited by the state bureau of immunizations, and have asked us to do the paperwork. I don't know how this is going to work. It says that we have to write an explanation of why our religious beliefs specifically allow for some vaxes if not all. We've got nothing. I mean we have a few ideas of what we could say, but they're pretty weak. I'm not worried that the school officials will care, but I can't imagine an auditor is going to be ok with it. And they will probably look at all the school's vax records, since there are only a few kids in the school. I'm so afraid that they're going to have to kick us out. The kids love their school and have been there for a few years now. This sucks. Any advice? Has anyone been successful with this type of situation?

Could you say you vaccinated and then changed religions and now don't believe in it?  They allow it in NJ but not sure about NY.  Also, can't you just say thay have no vaccinations.  I guess since you already told them they had the 1 vax you can't change it unless you said it was incorrect or a misunderstanding.  You know, you were going to do it but never did type of thing.  My daughter got Hib and pneumovax but her school doesn't know it.  Good luck with it!
