I'm a vegetarian but my husband and kids eat meat, mostly chicken. Their favoeite way I make it is breasts baked with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic, and parsley. I use frozen breasts and bake at 375 for 25-30 min on each side. Can I translate this to do in a crockpot? I was thinking maybe it would need chicken broth for additional liquid? I'm clueless about meat so have no idea if it would even work, and what time/temp it would need. Thanks in advance for any replies!

post #2 of 311/4/12 at 7:47pmIt would be super easy to do in a CP. In the morning, place the breasts in with either 1/2-1 c of broth or water and season, then cook on low. The meat will be super tender. It adds flavor to put sliced onions, garlic and carrots under the chicken.
If you are home, then you can also cook them on high for 3-4 hours instead. I often do that as I have a hard time getting dinner together in the morning as we're running off to school and such. I don't worry about reaching a certain temperature because it is very obvious that the chicken is thoroughly cooked.

Thank you! Would those times work for fresh or frozen? And no olive oil at all? I also just thought about adding quartered potatoes, would that work too?Return HomeBack to Forum: Nutrition and Good Eating- Can I translate this chicken recipe to crockpot?
