Belly band or maternity pants? « Back to Group Discussions

I am wondering which way to go: belly band or maternity pants? In my last pregnancy I bought some maternity pants, some of which were OK, others not. Has anyone used a belly band and their regular pants throughout pregnancy with success? Or does it feel like your pants are unzipped and falling off?

I have a couple belly bands...my waist is so short that they just roll up on me really bad....just my shape I guess....as far as over pants...I've tried it...but I can feel the zipper on my skin...I dont like it. Again..might be my shape. I prefer mat. pants. or stretchy yoga style pants.

I did it the Bella Band way the first time.  I LOVED my Bella Band (this time I got the Target one, it is nice but I felt like the BB held up better), and I didn't get big enough for it to ever get uncomfy or awkward with my regular jeans.  However, it does roll a lot and you have to adjust it when you go from sitting to standing.  I did get nervous about the lower part of my zipper showing but never really noticed it to be a real problem or not.

I still wear one even WITH mat pants, though.  I like how it smooths out the shape of my belly.  And I ADORE the thing for postpartum.

My issue with a belly band is that I'm in the bathroom every half hour, so I'd have to "reset the band every time; too much hassle for me.  

this is my third pregnancy, but it's my first time using full-panel pants.  I was too afraid to try because it just looked uncomfortable, but I find the elastic sooooo much softer and easier on my belly than the thicker elastic needed for the under-belly waistbands.

I LOVE the secret fit panels!  So comfy!  However, all the pants I am in love with are under belly waistbands.  I've actually opened them up and added in elastic (and am even thinking about removing it all together).  Much better, and much better looking than the alternative, but still not as comfy as the full secret fit panel!!!
