Advice on ergo infant insert and winter cover please! « Back to Group Discussions

I love my Ergo but never used it with my DS's when they were newborns (used a ring sling instead).  However, this time when baby arrives we will be doing ALOT more walking because we will be walking my DS#1 to/from school everyday.  So I was thinking about buying the infant insert for my ergo since I feel like the ergo is much more comfortable and secure as compared to the ring sling.  My question is - for those that have used the infant insert...do you feel like it is very secure when walking?  I know it won't be the same as without but do you feel comfortable walking at a good pace with the insert in place?

Also - it gets very cold here in the winter....has anyone ever purchased the winter cover for the ergo?  Is it good?  Does it fit with the infant insert in place as well?
