5 Year Old Obsessive With Hair Pulling in Bed

Thread Starter

As stated my 5 year old basically keeps herself awake by pulling, twisting and playing in her hair all night long.  I'm thinking of getting her a sleeping cap, if those still exist, because it is something that is pretty unconscious.  I ask her to leave her hair alone and several times she won't even realize she's playing in it.

She is literally pulling her hair out and I really think it is also keeping her from sleeping.  She has always been a sleep fighter in some way or another.

So does anyone know of any other option or where to find a sleeping cap(do they have another name?)

Thanks in advance.

Maybe any soft beanie style cap would do? I agree it is worth a try, just to see if you can break the unconscious habit. Is anxiety a major issue in your child's waking hours?

Just bumping this up, as I would really love to hear others ideas and what you have been doing, as my 5 yo daughter has a similar issue (hair twirling, hair pulling, sleep fighting). hug2.gif
