Alternative School Options around Chicago

Our family is looking for progressive or less traditional schooling options for our children... both middle school age and high school?

You might want to try to post in the tribes forum which may see more traffic. But, overall (as you're probably aware) the best option for public school in Chicago has to be a charter school. So, look around and see what is available and what your child can get in to. (They're very competitive.) Chicago also has a Waldorf High School at http://chicagowaldorf.org/ and there are a few grade schools around the suburbs.

There are a lot of pre-schools and kindergartens, but less of the higher grades from what I've seen.

Good luck in your search. Let us know if you've found anything.

By "around Chicago" do you mean "anywhere within the city limits" or "in the suburbs of Chicago"? It would probably help to narrow the area, since you could drive 2 hours west from the Lake and still be in the Chicago area.
