Holistic/Homeopahtic Pediatrician for ADHD up to 25 Miles from Ashburn, VA

Hello,

My 7 year old has been diagnosed with ADHD, sensory issues and anxiety.  I am looking for a pediatrician who uses supplements and/or homeopathy to treat ADHD. I understand seeing a developmental pediatriciann can be helpful but don't really know the difference between that type and a regular pediatrician who is holistic/integrative.  Our daughter attends the Newton School in Sterling, VA which has been helpful to her.  I am really looking for someone who will try their best to avoid medication and only consider it as a last resort.  Any help would be much appreciated!

You may want to consider the Amen Clinic. He does SPECT brain imaging and can further determine the type of ADD/ADHD. He has a clinic in DC (http://www.amenclinics.com/conditions/adhd-add).

I don't have any personal experience with him. My sister was considering Dr. Amen for her oldest and his struggles with ADHD. She liked what she read and had positive experiences talking to his staff on the phone about their services, but unfortunately the distance was too much for her as she lives about 4 1/2 hours from a clinic.

Hey Sophie Moma.

I highly recommend dr Alan Vinitsky of gaithersburg md. He is the smartest doctor I've ever met. He's an internist focused on environmental medicine and he repairs things, not really medicating symptoms. Only caveat, u need united healthcare as I think it's the only insurance they take. His practice name is enlightened medicine. Good luck!
