Prenatals- any easily digestable solutions? « Back to Group Discussions

I often feel worse when I take them. And I only take them 2-3x a week. Do you have one you like? Or tolerate? My Dr recommended children's chewables.

me too! I find they either nauseate me to no end OR constipate me (day four! ugh) so I've only been taking them once every 2-3 days. Would love to find a better solution to this.

I'm just having trouble swallowing em. My boyfriend, found these raw all vegetable sourced prenatal, which I'm all on board for but daily dose is 3. They are still low on calcium so another Veggy vitamin says take 4. 7 really? I'd spread em out but can't swallow em in the morning and I'd so lose track. They can be opened up but then what? Any suggestions. It's hard to not just take the one day cheapo that says it does it all.

Good prenatals are low in calicum if they contain iron, otherwise you can't absorb the iron. But, you should take around 1000 mg of calcium at a different time from the prenatals. And take an equal amount of magnesium. Magnesium can help solve the constipation problem.

i'm not taking prenatals anymore. i took one but then learned that iron is likely to aggrevate my GI problems and that so many pills have fillers that will also irritate my GI tract. so instead i stumbled across homeopathic cell salts to use instead of prenatals. http://homeopathyworks.net/downloads/Pregnancy_Handout.pdf

on pg 2 and 3 it gives a list of what to take and how long and what they are for. i ordered them yesterday and hopefully will get them soon!

If you decide to try any prenatals again, my crohn's suffering friend was taking "garden of life raw prenatal." It doesn't have all the stuff you need, but it has a little of everything. I think what you are doing sounds like it could be better though. Another good one I've read is herbs. But, you have to take ones that are safe for pregnancy of course- red raspberry leaves, nettle, red clover(I think), etc.

I'm not taking them anymore - I really feel awful when I do. :( I've taken prenatals religiously for over 10 years, so I feel really strange about this. I've been reassured time and time again that it's okay to not take them right now - that having taken them in the months prior to conception was the most important anyhow.
