anyone else's DP is nesting?

I came home saturday afternoon to  an upstairs that looked like a disaster zone!  DP was frantically (I suspect he had a coffee or two or three!!!)  tossing papers and such in the recycling bin, sheets and  towels were spreads all over the place...anyway, you get the picture!

Turns out he realised that we are halfway through this pregnancy, and that the house is not in any kind of order to make room for a new baby.  He is planning on finishing our basement so that we can move the content of our office/guest room/sewing room/playroom (and it's not a very big room!!) down there and turn in into DD's new "big girl" bedroom.  He's not making much progrees on that front, but somehow this turned into him "needing" to clean out and reorganise every single closet we have upstairs!!!

The job is now done, but it spilled over to sunday and even a little last night.

I do admit it feels good to have some nicely organised closets and to declutter (it was very much needed!) but I'm wondering what he's hitting next!!!

I wish!!!  No, my DP isn't nesting, but spending hours searching for baby stuff (he loves stuff).  Granted he's getting lots of great deals and free stuff, but I'm having to do damage control on everything he thinks will fit into the house!

I really hope DP starts organizing and de-cluttering.  But I'm not gonna hold my breath!  I, on the other hand, am about to go through the whole house with a garbage bag and make a very large donation to our local free store!!!!!!!

Well, my DH is going through spurts of working on our new bathroom... that's really all the effort being put into stuff, we're not doing a "baby room" or whatever so there's really not much to do until the little nipper starts being mobile, and then we'll see how much babyproofing is necessary.  DD wasn't any kind of danger-baby so we did very little for her, but this one may be different.

The bathroom will no doubt cause strife while underway - already I'm getting mighty peeved at the large hot water heater taking up space in our living room...

Ha!ha! I absolutely love hearing this because I must say that I am quite surprised by DP's behavior because this is more like him!

Haha Bena!!!  Maybe we can trade for a week!!

(I shouldn't complain, right now he's hooking up electrical in the addition and I heard him yelp, so I should go check - lol.)

My husband seems to still be in some sort of state of denial. He doesn't even want to talk about names, yet, let alone start cleaning in preparation for baby. :P

My DH is coming from a similar place of motivation, but for him, the form it's taking is getting serious about leaving his job. It looks like our Big Plan to be dual WAHP (working and expanding my business) is coming together, and we are talking much more concretely about it. Plans seem to be solidifying around his leaving his job at the end of the year-- end of January at latest-- so that's good. We've spent several hours over the past week nailing things down, and set aside more time tomorrow.

He's also super-supportive of my "nesting," though-- I am the big shopper and home organizer and he has much more patience and interest helping me with both than he normally would.
