Water's leaking!  I've been thinking all day 'if my water would just break I think I'd go into labor . . . '  We'll see.  The longest I've gone before with broken waters till active labor was about 8 hours.  I'm pretty sure my kids are going to have to go to bed before things will kick in, though - I feel seriously inhibited by their level of activeness.  And normal bedtime isn't for another 3 hours or so.

Hmm.  I also have to decide if I'm going to work tomorrow if I'm not in labor yet.  I'm leaning towards no but I hate having a whole congregation of 250+ people wondering if I've had my baby yet.

Well, I'm feeling kind of birthy now.... I was just sitting around with DH in the living room this evening, gliding on my rocker and I felt a little bit of wetness.  i went into the bathroom and I had a little bit of bloody discharge.  i kept wiping and it was still wet and a little pink and kept dribbling a little into the toilet. Is this just my mucus plug or did my waters just break/start leaking?  It seemed more watery v. "mucusy" if that makes sense.  It definitely wasn't a lot (a tablespoon??) so it doesn't SEEM like my water broke.  really hope its not b/c I'm NOT ready for this baby at 37 weeks 2 days.

Should I be freaking out?  help!  I had been feeling a little crampy earlier.

I fret about all kinds of stuff, it's all totally normal and okay.

good luck mamaB!

alaskanne - if it stopped and hasn't started back up it was probably just watery mucus. with my first pregnancy i had extremely watery mucus towards the end and kept thinking my water was leaking but it wasn't. the term "mucus plug" makes it sound like it is one solid chunk, but it can come out gradually and be more liquid, and still be "plug". if it starts up whenever you lay down, and stops when you are vertical, it would be worth making sure it's not a slow leak, but one watery bit is probably fine. try not to freak out too much about having the baby now...it could still be a week or two even if you're starting to lose plug.

thanks mamadimond.  It's still leaking now and then (originally started about an hour and a half ago), does that change your assessment?  I'm going to call my midwives first thing in the morning to ask and I'm crossing my fingers that it is just watery mucus like you said, but if it is amniotic fluid I'm worried because I'm not feeling any strong contractions....

Anne - it could be either, after 1.5 hours. wondering what the mw's said!

I had a wonderful walk in the snow with my 11 yr old today. been contracting all day, mostly they only 'hurt' in my tailbone. which does not feel good! thinking, like mamab did, that things may pick up when the kids are in bed...

I think I may have actually had some bloody show tonight. Not 100% simply because I was in the bathtub for about an hour, but what was left in the tub when I drained it liked like old-ish blood. smile.gif I've never had bloody show before my membranes ruptured with either of my boys.

I posted this on FB but wanted to post here too. Had ctx off & on all night Sat night then off & on yesterday. Things did pick back up Sun night. I was in labor all night ctx down to 4-5 mins apart with bloody show! Then things tapered off & haven't had a ctx for a couple hours this morning. One of my MWs was here so was well taken care of. We're going to try to sleep today & see what happens. Mamas I don't need any advice - just your support!

Lulu, I hope you're able to rest and that labor will be coming soon! Does your midwife suggest anything for the contractions or are you riding them out as they come? It'll be so soon, yay! I'm due at the end of the month, so not a whole lot here. My cervix hurts, my abdomen is achy, but my contractions are all pretty much from a stomach bug. XD Just trying to stay hydrated and clean and prep while I can.

Lulu, hope all is going well! Sending happy labor vibes your way! Sounds like baby will be here soon. :)

Not sure if this means anything "birthy", but this morning I have SO much energy! I swear someone snuck crack into my eggs at breakfast. I'm about to go run 8 million errands and install my carseat. Also, bub is moving around like crazy and my Braxton HIcks have been getting longer and a little more intense. No other reason to think labor is on its way (especially since tomorrow is only 38 weeks), but dang. So. Much. Energy.

I love those days chica!  I'm exhausted today and feel like I have a bit of a cold - headache-y, muscle ache-y, runny nose.  Had a horrible nights sleep.  But I'm sewing up a batch of flannel and wool nursing pads and getting another simple cotton baby hat done - a smaller one for when babe is first born.  Baby shower was yesterday and got a bunch of awesome hand knit stuff, plus a sweet handmade origami mobile.  My bh are still really mellow - but I don't think mine ever get more intense.  Babe is moving all around - all knees and feet and butt right out in front - love feeling those little baby parts all day!

Good luck and positive relaxing energy sent your way Lulu.

Lulu - Yay! Thinking of you a lot today and hoping that you are going to be meeting that baby soon!

I can finally say I am feeling something remotely birthy! I had a little bit of bloody show this morning and am feeling a bit crampy. Could mean absolutely nothing, but these are the first signs that I may not be pregnant forever, so I am very happy to be reporting it!

lulu, stegan & sweetmilk - here's hoping you ALL have babies soon!

chica - jealous of the nesting energy. kel, sorry you aren't feeling well :( Glad you were able to enjoy your shower though.

As for me, I again thought we might really be laboring last night - well I was, I couldn't sleep contrax were about 5-6m ins apart, killing my tailbone, felt better when DP was doing the hip squeeze. Still not all that intense, but menstrual crampy feeling with the tailbone pain (which makes me concerned about position, even though babe has been ROA for weeks). EDD is tomorrow, thinking about asking the MW to come by today (our next appt is thursday), and take some advice to get things going. I'm still having about the same this morning, though they have spaced out some (maybe 10 mins apart now). Seriously tired of the roller coaster....
