My son's 3rd birthday is coming up this weekend and we are throwing a party for about 16 kids + their parents/siblings. Today (Friday) he came home from Montessori with a notice saying that he may have been exposed to Strep Throat. He has very normal toddler fall seasonal cold symptoms (runny nose and very occasional cough, no fever), which he has had for weeks. Most of the kids coming to the party go to the same Montessori he attends, so I assume they will all have had the same exposure. But 4 of the families coming don't attend this Montessori. Given the possible Strep exposure should I (a) postpone the party? (b) contact the families that don't attend the Montessori and warn them about the risk?
Thanks for thoughts and advice on this!
