Postpartum Resource/Study Thread!

Thread Starter

Let's start a postpartum-focused thread with study resources for midwives, future midwives and doulas!

I'd like us to share links to online articles, online videos, book titles, book chapters, quotes.

Immediate postpartum, suturing, hemorrhage, postpartum depression, breastfeeding issues, supporting new families, newborn care, newborn complications, you name it, let's share resources and/or discuss it here.

If you have an area of expertise or something that you've spend time researching that relates to the postpartum period, please share that as well.

Very nice idea! I'm surprised you haven't gotten a flood of replies though.

Anyone have anything to contribute?

I think this is a wonderful idea! I am one of the Maryland Coordinators for  Postpartum Support International (www.postpartum.net) On this page there is a listing of our 175 coordinators form across the world that provide support and link families to resources. http://www.postpartum.net/Get-Help.aspx

The other websites that I often refer people to are below.

For those who really want to get into some good science discussions-- I would recommend Science and Sensibility http://www.scienceandsensibility.org/

Thank you so much and I will spread the word in the hopes of getting more resources!-- Joy

I highly recommend the RSVP (Reclaim Sexual Vitality Postpartum) on-line program by Jaiya and Ellen Heed ( world reknown sexologists) for ending painful sex after vaginal tears, episiotomies, and c-sections. http://rsvp.kajabi.com/sp/3800-fe3800

These problems can be healed!
