OK, I printed out the recipe. I am going to make myself do a couple other things on my To Do List and then if I still can't stop thinking about them I'll do it!! (Seriously feel like an addict right now....can.not.stop.thinking.about.these.cookies)!

I say....GO FOR IT! Love trying out new recipes here! And, with a big household there's always someone to eat them up other than me.
Been up since 2:30. The coughing is making for impossible sleep. Did get some cough drops, however they're only having a limited effect. Sigh

How is everyone going emotionally?
I'm feeling like a crazed mother lion here! I don't want to leave the house and I don't want DH to work after business hours (which is impossible with this job!!)
I just want to be in my cave with my man. And clean and tidy. That's it. Oh and nap.
Also anyone know of great ways to clean the bath? Mine is all yuk and I don't want to use bleach etc but bi carb soda is just not cutting it. Ideas???

I made them! All I have to say is thank god I have not had any issues with excess weight gain, high blood pressure or high blood sugars!! I had 7 of the 12 cookies that I made along with a big glass of whole milk (that's the only kind we buy out at the farm we buy from)! Talk about an excess of fat, sugar and salt!! YUM, YUM, YUM! Thank God DH came home and ate the other 5 or I might have had those too!!
If anyone is interested here is the recipe. I made some modifications to it and they were still perfect!

Hi mummas
How is everyone going emotionally?
I'm feeling like a crazed mother lion here! I don't want to leave the house and I don't want DH to work after business hours (which is impossible with this job!!)

Emotionally I am fine but I am having my same claustrophobia I always get at the end of my pregnancy. It's like I already have this human being taking up all my personal space and I just want everyone else to keep a distance. Sadly, this also applies to my kids. I CAN NOT handle them climbing all over me right now and being in crowds is just maddening right now (AND my DD is in a "Light Up Night" parade tonight to kick of Christmas soooo not only will I be in a big, loud crowd but it will be freezing cold, DH is working and so I will be trying to keep an eye on my other two kiddos by myself...so dreading this)!
Have you tried mixing vinegar with your bi carb soda (I am assuming this is the same as our "baking soda")? I don't like the smell of vinegar so I have been making this citrus vinegar (http://myhealthygreenfamily.com/blog/wordpress/homemade-citrus-vinegar-cleaner/) and mixing it with Borox for really dirty bathroom jobs and baking soda for just regular clean up. Also, using a micro-fiber sponge may help get off the gunk! I just cleaned out my oven with the vinegar/baking soda/micro-fiber combo and it looks so shiny and clean!

TM- we use baking soda, dish soap & a bit of water to make a paste and a few drops of tea tree oil. it only takes a bit of scrubbing power (usually my husband does it for me) and works really well.

All this cleaning talk! I wish I had the energy to do that deep cleaning. It is all I can muster to do the light stuff. Ah well. I thought I would have that deep cleaning nesting energy - not yet!
Well I made it to my last day of work - ironically I don't have much work to do. I've been tidying things up almost every day when I leave. So I have a few things to do today and that is it!
I had a MW appointment and she recommended cramp bark for my contractions that kept me up - I hadn't even thought about it, but she said it wouldn't keep real labor from starting (good to know!) and as you all know being rested for the real thing is so important. So last night I was all armed with the cramp bark and valerian tincture and I slept pretty well. Had some contractions and a difficult time getting to sleep about 4:30 am and took some of each and went back to sleep.... we'll see! Thought I'd share for those of you who are getting those annoying contractions that are keeping you up at night. The cramp bark, she said to take 2 droppers full and to repeat every 15 mins if necessary to get the contractions to settle.
On a side note, she did say False Unicorn Root tincture is known for keeping premature labor at bay - so those of you concerned with premature labor signs that might be a good choice to try. Not sure on the dosing. I actually know someone who went into premature labor at 33 weeks - made it to like 5 cm and took the false unicorn root to 37 weeks and then went on to 42 weeks!
tropicana - I am SO making those cookies! They sound so yummy! I agree that you haven't had blood sugar issues and weight gain issues - go for the cookies (which you did yay!) I'm of the mind that keeping certain foods as off limits makes you want them more... of course if there is a health issue you have to look at it differently.
Sego - sounds like a good choice about ending your work now. It must be a little odd just leaving like that. I feel sort of like that. My close co-workers had a lunch for me on Tuesday and gave me a nice gift certificate to REI where we want to get our bike trailer/stroller combo. But today is just a regular day...
TM - I think you should just go with how you are feeling - which it sounds like you're doing.
Emotionally, I'm doing pretty well. I'm getting impatient to meet this baby that's for sure! Tired of feeling so uncomfortable at night and a little anxious about labor. But mostly just ready. I really need to get in the space of being ok with having the baby soon as well as going another month! That is a hard balancing act to do!
Oh and I'm worrying about the size of the baby - that it's too small! Until about 34 weeks or so, I was measuring 1-2 cms large and my 20 wk ultrasound showed the baby at 64 percentile by weight and I was a 9 1/2 lb baby - so I've been expecting a 9-10 lb baby. Then I had a drop so at 35 weeks I was 34, then the last several weeks I have gone up 1 cm, but was always 1 cm behind. Then yesterday, I was 36 at 38... my midwife is not worried and I know logically there is not really anything to be worried about. Now I worry about the baby being small...of course it does depend on when this baby comes. If it comes now, it will be smaller than if it comes in a month! I have had a hard time eating enough lately - I'm worried I'm not feeding it enough
I am just sick and tired of all my normal go to protein choices...

Last time i measured big - except the u/s - and he was under 7,, and this one I've been measuring reallllly small (always several cm short) but u/s at 32w says 60th%.... And I gained 45lbs last time and have passed that this time... So I have no idea!!

Hi everyone,
Just checking in again after getting a huge project finished last night, whew! Only one more due this quarter, just before my due date :) Thank you for all of the support re: illness. I'm starting to feel better (finally!) and can function. I think I was indeed having bladder spasms on top of that nasty cold. Probably due to major dehydration and the baby's head being really far down. Yesterday at the doctor she mentioned that she way very surprised that the babe was so far down for a third baby. I'll post more deets on the birthy thread, but I think the noggin on the bladder has been responsible for the spasms, and the fact that I peed all over the kitchen floor the other night. It was quite a scene.
I wish I had time for personals, dang it. Maybe I'll have time tonight whilst waiting for the peanut butter chocolate chip sea salt cookies to bake. Trop-I am SO making those tonight! Thanks for the recipe.
Thinking of you all!
Oh sure, tease me with cookies ;) I have been looking for sugar free (stevia-based) pumpkin pie recipes for next week. I LOVE pumpkin pie; if I can't find a good recipe, I will just cheat a little.
TM - Bon Ami cleanser? It's one of the few regular cleaning products I allow in my house - much less toxic than most alternatives.
esp - glad you are feeling better, and that your project is done. YAY!
Christy - dude, seriously, you need to get better. :)))))))
lulu - I know it's hard not to worry, but don't worry, ok? Fundal height measurement can be different for so many reasons - position, amount of fluid ATM, etc. I'm sure baby is FINE.
I'm hoping we hear from Cielo soon, been worrying about her!

Yesterday I did 8 loads of baby/birth prep laundry, had a (very boring, very long) visit with my backup hospital CNMs, a (very short, helpful) visit with my chiropractor, and went to the dollar store to get most of the last dribs and drabs of 'stuff' I need for the birth supplies.
And then my hips hurt like the dickens all night!
Our virus of the week seems to be congestion and a cough (DD & DS1 have it right now.)
I'm concerned for Cielo, too.
Segolily, it's interesting - I'm not diabetic but I am very sensitive to sugar and especially when pregnant. And I almost NEVER actually want to eat sweet stuff. I can imagine really wanting pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving, though!
Esp & Travelmumma, good going on the school projects!

Had an ultrasound on the painful/numb leg today and it is just a lipoma (little fat deposit). Which is kind of what I assumed, but the midwife wanted to rule out a clot. It seems that with increased blood flow, slight tissue swelling of late pregnancy that it's just being pressed against a vein - which is in turn causing pretty constant pain and numbness in my left thigh. Oh well - only two more months;).
Babe has definitely not moved down at all yet - I'm actually feeling extra short of breathe today - so she either grew in the night or climbed up higher! Other exciting;) third trimester updates - my boobs are tender/growing some more (as if they weren't big enough yet!) and my left hip has been killing me when I wake up at night on that side - the side I'd finally trained myself to sleep on instead of my back. Tonight I'll try more pillows and maybe putting a quilt or feather duvet under the fitted sheet for extra cushioning. Finally feeling very pregnant and a bit worn out from it, but still loving it and happy that I have plenty of time (knock on wood) to keep working on getting the house in ship shape.
Today is homeschooling; sewing kitten, bunny and bird dolls for a bunch of custom orders for the etsy shop; working on baby finishing up the baby quilt; and cleaning, decorating and relaxing.

stegenrae, yes, DH will definitely be doing the major lifting! I will just be packing (small things) and pointing. :) I think DH's dad and brothers will also help, and we really don't have too much. I hope your 7yo is doing better! And wow, the car stuff sure is complicated. It's funny knowing that we'll probably have to deal with that at some point in the (far) future, since we're really hoping to have three or four.
travelmumma, how are you feeling? All of the early signs must be driving you crazy, since it's so hard to know if it will translate to actual early labor.
segolily, yayyy! So exciting to have your tub in your room! I feel like that will be one of the big "this is really happening" things for us. Since it took us over a year and a half to conceive, and I've been a nerd about birth stuff since before then, sometimes it just feel so surreal that I'm actually starting to buy home birth supplies for our little guy. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for this blessing, and every day that moves his birth closer, I can't believe that we're finally going to have a child of our own.
smerkin, those cinnamon rolls look soooo delicious. I really want to make cinnamon rolls or monkey bread for a holiday breakfast! Also, I have a few freezer meal ideas that I'll have to share on that thread. So excited it's up, and I can't wait to start cooking away!
lulubikes, how are things going? Amazing that you might have our first babe! :)
tropicana, those cookies looked incredible! I wish I could have come by to steal one. :)
esp, so glad to hear you're feeling better! And yikes, sounds like the kitchen was quite a scene! At least it was your kitchen and not someone else's, lol!
mamabeakley, 8 loads! Holy moly! Sounds like you made a ton of progress. I've done most of our clothing but still need to wash blankets and prep cloth diapers.
Kel, whew! What a relief it must have been to hear that it was just a lump and not a clot! Your sewing projects sounds wonderful--would you share your Etsy shop link? I'd love to take a look! I have a lot of sewing to do, but am waiting on my MIL to bring my sewing machine back tomorrow.
I'm also a bit worried about Cielo. Hopefully she'll be popping up soon with a great birth story and pictures of her new little one.
AFM, today was my second chiropractor appointment and I've been really enjoying it. I was a little sore after the adjustments but I love feeling like everything is "lining up." Sleep, on the other hand...The tide may be turning, because the last two nights of sleep have not been fun. Granted, at least I’m not having straight up insomnia, but no matter what position I’m in, I just can’t seem to get comfortable. I’m at the point of waking up at least once to go use the restroom, and then finding a sleep-worthy position after that is challenging once again. I’m really hoping this is just a phase, but I have a feeling my sleep quality is just going to stay on a downward spiral.
My balance is also leaving me -- I squatted to pick something up yesterday and nearly fell flat on my face! I also keep bumping into tables and running into corners. At this point, I've gained 25% of my body weight, which is pretty crazy to me. One of my friends was joking that I should just wear a backpack with a 25lb weight in it to balance out my stomach. :)
chica - I'm jealous you are getting up once a night to pee.. I'm up at LEAST 4 times a night, sometimes more. Probably due to baby's position (low, lots of pressure on my bladder). I hear ya on the uncomfortable sleep, tough. I've always said it's not one of nature's best plans for us - shouldn't we be getting extra sleep now, while baby is still in utero? the sleepless nights will come soon enough... personally I think I am going to be getting MORE sleep when baby is on the outside!

Totally! I can't stand the insomnia anymore waaaaaaah! I've been waking every. single. night. between 4 and 5.... and it's hard to get back to sleep before the alarm... I feel like a zombie!

Just in the last week or two I've often only been getting up to pee once in the night - babe is so high that I don't have to pee as much, but like I said, am out of breath all the time. But my sleep has been more painful and I've been getting more insomnia/mixed up with being more tired and needing more sleep. Not much fun.
shop link for chica:
Last night I was only up twice to pee, which is crazy for me, since some nights it's like every two hours. Funny that we are talking about that today. Personally, I get more sleep once babe is on the outside. I (hopefully) won't be hurting any more and will be able to gloriously sleep on my stomach!! I can't wait for that!!
I'm worried about cielo, too. Hoping she is just settling in with a new baby and not anything too crazy.
So, today I am going to get the pipe fittings for the hose for the pool. After that, everything else on my list doesn't have to be done, I'd just prefer it. I'm moving really slow these days, and feel like I've already nested the crap out of the house so now we are just waiting. My birth team meet up is tomorrow! I'm super excited about that!
KEL you dolls are adorable :) i LOVE making Waldorf style dolls, but yours are especially cute & unique :)
Natalie - yay for that 'last to do item'!!! So crazy how close these babies are to making their arrivals. When the MW brought the pool the other day, DP immediately checked the hose fitting on our bathroom sink to make sure it fit - love being partnered with a contractor, lol. That man KNOWS how to get stuff DONE. Did I mention he cleaned our room & bathroom, and the kitchen, and did our laundry while I was at my last day of work? Such a sweetie :)
I'm with you on Cielo - I imagine she must have had her baby, since we have heard no update. I too am hoping she is just adjusting to a new baby, and will be with us as soon as she can!

Those are my thoughts about cielo, too, sego.
kel, Whew about the fatty deposit, though the weeks of pain and numbness will get old, I'm sure.
chica, my chiropractor actually recommends pregnant women wear backpacks to help with balance and keeping the back properly aligned. I know I actually feel more secure with my backpack on and filled with random junk (since I don't have anything worth putting in there just yet, lol).
natalie, how exciting about being in the waiting zone. Since my "burst" of giving orders last weekend, I haven't done squat.
lilac, my insomnia is the can't-get-to-sleep in the first place kind, but I've always had that (and it's made worse by heartburn), but it makes it hard to actually sleep more than 5-6 hours when I DO go to bed early somehow. Then I wake up at 4 or 5 or so and can't get back to sleep and am exhausted the rest of the day.
AFM, I have been actually productive the past few days. Not doing anything beyond homeschooling and making basic meals, but at least I haven't lain in bed for hours upon hours, unable to muster the energy to get up and get schoolwork started! I've had some cervical twinges, and heavy enough BH (that one friend says is not BH, but they didn't feel crampy like real ctx, though I've never had early labor, so IDK if early labor pangs feel like that or not) to warrant a couple glasses of wine followed by a long, hot bath and shower. I have a seriously short waist, so even though baby has "dropped," she's still near the top, lol. I can tell she's dropped because my pubis symphysis has improved dramatically! I don't even think my pelvis popped at all for the previous 2-3 days, but it did once this morning when I was stuck in the bed--I seriously couldn't get out, lol!
Well, DH is home from his last work trip for the year...Hope all is well for you all! (eeee! 36w in a few hours!)

Chica- yes all these signs are sending me a bit nutso at times but now Uni is over I have time for being a little nutso lol! I swear my chiro saved my life.. Well my pelvis anyway, and I look forward to my appointments with her lots! It's o nice to feel all lined up and together right??
Sego- yes to peeing a billion times a night. Lol Mother Nature is cruel. There really should be sleep banks!!!!
Natalie- oh my goodness you got your list all crossed off?!?!? So exciting!!!! I can't believe we are at that stage! Go mumma go!!!
Rae- is it nice to have hubby home?? I understand about the short waisted but having baby dropped thing. I saw myself in a window today and thought "oh I've dropped" but DH can't see it lol. Am just too stumpy!!
AFM- more and more labour signs over here. In fact before we went for a drive this morning I added a few old towels and plastic bags to the car just in case.. I dunno if its my instinct or my imagination but a voice is telling me to be prepared.????
Last essay done yayayayay!!!! Today we went to a fruit festival not far from here and gorged ourselves on fresh summer fruits! And tomorrow we are going to my friends Thanks Giving feast! So it's a food weekend here
not much else

Should I start a 'Welcome Babies' thread now that we know we actually have a baby to welcome? (See Cieloazule's thread - her baby is here!) I was thinking there could be a post at the top with stats and each mama could post on the thread with a birth story or link to birth story, as someone suggested? Or if someone else wants to do it that's fine with me, too.
