Sounds good!

rae and chica - Wearing a backpack sounds wonderful! I actually love backpack carrying my 30lb 3 year old just for that reason right now. I feel like my balance is much better then.

Add getting the birth pool to my pretty much done checklist!  We had our big home visit today with my photographer and doula present as well and it was great! There really wasn't a whole lot to go over since we are all pretty calm about this birth.  We'll do a run through this week of making sure the air pump we have works for the pool, but yeah, it's here!!

And yay for ceilo!! Our first baby of this group!! And so it begins!

YES!! Please ;)

You guys are cracking me up about the backpack because I wear a huge backpack for work, and the only thing I've thought about it is that I take up a lot of room on an elevator.

Last night I probably got up to pee more times than ever before, maybe 8 times. The strangest thing is half the time I go the the fridge and chug some milk after peeing. I know it will make me get up again, but it's like a compulsion. I think it might help me get back to sleep... for another hour.

It's so exciting for the baby tide to have begun. And it will continue for 2 more months!

Thank God DH came home and ate the other 5 or I might have had those too!! yummy.gif

If anyone is interested here is the recipe. I made some modifications to it and they were still perfect!

OMG, they sound too dangerous LOL.  I actually made chocolate chip cookies the other day and I waited until everybody else ate them and I had half a cookie (that DS only ate part of).  I have never had blood sugar issues here, however I am trying to keep things nutrient dense and stay away from sweets unless it's an actual holiday.  Of course, there are antioxidants in chocolate, right?  LOL  I really like peanut butter cookies (probably in my top three) AND I just bought 18 bags of chocolate chips with coupons the other day (yep, that wasn't a misprint, after all the Q's I had they came out to about .30 a bag) not to mention my small stockpile of natural peanut butter.  yummy.gif  So I don't have much of an excuse not to make these!  Is this a good justification?  LOL

I just want to be in my cave with my man. And clean and tidy. That's it. Oh and nap.
Also anyone know of great ways to clean the bath? Mine is all yuk and I don't want to use bleach etc but bi carb soda is just not cutting it. Ideas???

My ideas...other alternatives, you can make a paste of baking soda and salt, also use a nylon scrubber.  The nylon won't scratch the porcelain yet does a pretty darn good job.  That is what my DD's use when they clean the bathrooms.  They sell those for doing dishes.

Then yesterday, I was 36 at 38... my midwife is not worried and I know logically there is not really anything to be worried about. Now I worry about the baby being small...of course it does depend on when this baby comes.

Often with a first time mom the baby drops lower before labor starts...so it may just be that baby is lower in your pelvis, hense the reduced measurements.  Remember too they also say +/- 2 cm.  That's all considered normal.

I hear ya on the uncomfortable sleep, tough. I've always said it's not one of nature's best plans for us - shouldn't we be getting extra sleep now, while baby is still in utero? the sleepless nights will come soon enough... personally I think I am going to be getting MORE sleep when baby is on the outside!

I'm still about one time a night.  Yep, my kid isn't super low yet though it's head down.  I may second you on getting more sleep when the kiddo is out.  two of mine had the days/nights mixed up which was interesting for a few days, but otherwise semi waking up and whipping out a boob is something you just instinctively do.

mamas, I am just feeling super blessed right now. I just got back from a friend's house that just threw me a mama blessing! It was awesome, low key, no games, hang out. DH tipped me off a bit, so I brought my plaster strips just in case and I'm so glad I did. We did the belly cast, and now there are a giant pair of boobs and a big belly sitting on my porch to dry! lol.gif  I didn't realize they were THAT big! lol. My friends all brought beads and my friend that hosted made little mustache candles for everyone to take home.  I even had one friend paint my toenails!  It was just a really lovely time!  Just thought I'd share with you all :)

Hi Everyone!

So excited we have our first baby and everything is good with her!

Chica and Christy - I'm so jealous of you - one pee a night! OMG I'm in the 4-6 a night range! Definitely the baby has dropped, but it's like every 1-3 hours and I drink more water before going back to sleep because I'm so thirsty! Just starting the cycle over!

Tropicana - I made the cookies yesterday - they are so yummy! I also froze some of the dough all balled and ready to cook. I've never done that, but you can buy cookie dough from the store like that, so I figure we can do it. Anyone have thoughts on how you'd cook them? I was thinking same temperature, but just longer... My husband ate almost all of them - I had to hide the last 2 for me to eat later tonight when I'm not full from dinner!

Purposeful- so sweet about the surprise mama blessing, yay!

AFM - We checked of another big to do today - we went to a free carseat clinic and had our carseat installed. It was very helpful and they went over all the dos and dont's I feel very prepared on the car seat! Hubs was a bit reluctant to go - he was like can't we figure this out ourselves... but then was super appreciative that I had pushed for us to go - I'm really glad we went together too!

Haven't really had more contractions like I had earlier this week - today, there's been a lot of pressure down on my cervix... Definitely not having all the birthy symptoms that some of the rest of you are having. We'll see!

My yoga teacher has us draw from her stack of goddess cards when we are near term and feel like it's time. So I drew mine last night, just in case. I drew Sekhmet - the Egyptian goddess of strength. The quote on the card says "You are stronger than you think you are, and your strength assures a happy outcome." I love it! Perfect! Then during the last shavasana, the teacher was doing a little positive affirmation at the end about being a mama and I could totally picture our baby in my arms. I think for the first time... so sweet.

Glad you liked the cookies! I just pulled the last batch from the oven. DH and I are fussy about warm cookies so whenever I make a batch of dough we keep it in the fridge and make a new batch every night of 6,8,12 or however many we want. I am glad the dough is gone. I can tell those are trouble for me....I haven't been back on the scale since the day I made them....I don't even want to know! winky.gif
As far as frozen dough goes, I usually set the balls on a cookie sheet and let them defrost a bit before I put them in the oven then just cook them as normal!

Very cool quote on your card! Perfect! Can't wait to hear all about your happy outcome. smile.gif

Oh and since I am on the topic of food again...am I the only one who has become kind of food obsessed again? I feel like I can't get online or flip through a magazine without seeing a recipe that I HAVE to have. I will say that a lot of my cooking went out the window when I got pregnant....not feeling well plus DH working afternoons and nights led to me just feeding me and the kids the basics but man oh man am I back in the cooking mood!

Last week we went to some new friends house for dinner and she said "just bring a side" and next thing you know I had whipped up an appetizer, a mexican salad and a dessert.

Today I was flipping through a Fit Pregnancy magazine (funny since I haven't exercised once in the last 8 months eyesroll.gif) and saw a recipe for Sourdough Kale Strata and just like with those dang cookies I COULD NOT stop thinking about it. Next thing you know I decide we MUST have that for breakfast tomorrow and I send DH to the store with a shopping list! I actually can not wait to wake up in the morning to put this dish in the oven!!! ACK, where is this coming from?!?

(On a side note it calls for Gruyere cheese which I have not bought before.....dang imported cheese cost $19/pound. It better be good)!!! orngbiggrin.gif

I'm completely with you on the claustrophobia (partnered with crankiness for me).  My 7 yr old is very physically affectionate, and I find myself snapping at her, esp as the night progresses.  She wants to give me these running hugs and climb all over me and I can't handle it right now.  Sitting on the couch last night with two of the kids and my dp - I thought I was going to freak;)  I've finally hit that place where my belly is so big that I'm uncomfortable sitting down a lot of the time - and babe seems to be, too - doing these huge stretches where her feet are kicking up while her hands are pressing down on my cervix! - and then having people sitting close and touching me at the same time...  Evenings are definitely when I start to lose my composure.;)

Hi, Bailey! Funny--I wasn't here when you were because I was too paranoid to join this DDC after having to leave my last one (July). eyesroll.gif
