If I hadn't gone past my due date, I wouldn't have gotten to...

I'm trying to look on the bright side, with tomorrow being 8 days past my due date.  Of course I'd love to go into labor overnight tonight, but whether or not I do, at least I feel like I've made the most of the extra days.  If I hadn't gone this far, I wouldn't have gotten to...

-get well from my cold

-try (and like!) eggplant parmesan

-thoroughly clean the shower, my way

-completely unclog the sink in our bathroom -- without chemicals (gross, but honestly very necessary)

-make pumpkin muffins for now, and a loaf of pumpkin bread to freeze

-go with my big girl for her first haircut (and get my own hair cut while I was there)

-freeze a batch of my husband's yummy whole wheat tortilla shells

-have my husband take pictures of my pregnant belly

-bake a huge batch of blondies

-go to our church's potluck (with just half of those blondies)

-visit my sister and her new baby in the hospital

-reorganize my craft supplies and get them out of reach of the kids while I'm not using them

-get our phone's sim card reactivated

-use my Kohls cash to get a basket that was basically free (I am addicted to baskets!)

And if you'll let me count something this early, there's this gem that happened shortly before my due date -- we had a touching experience where an anonymous stranger paid for our dinner the first night I thought I might be in labor.

Looking at that list is really satisfying!  I hope I can continue to use the time I have so well.  Anyone else want to play?

I'll play!

- Clean the gross metal grate on the oven hood.

- Get caught up on laundry.

- Prepare my birthing room.

- Go to Ikea and get beds and build them for the kids. (Decided I didn't want to muck with hauling and cutting lumber)

- Organize the house.

- Have DH install new flooring and sink in our bathroom.

And other random stuff that I am way too out of it to remember! smile.gif

Good grief, I hope I go into labor soon!

Sure!  Thanks for the uplifting perspective!  I don't know when my EDD would be, but when people ask me when Baby is due I've started saying "yesterday" just for fun.  But assuming I'm over, and with baby's measurement I should be!, here are the things I've gotten to do since I first thought Baby might be arriving a week ago:

-clean the stove (yuck)

- wash the ceiling fans (double yuck)

- get the extra supplies needed for a possible water birth

- finish painting and putting up trim in the bedroom

- make a baby hammock out of my old hammock chair, some fabric, and a door spring (thanks, ThymeMama!)

- wash and organize baby's clothes

- give DS a BADLY NEEDED haircut (DH still needs one but says he'll wait until after deer season as the mop effect keeps him warm)

- put up another two lines of fence for the crazy goats

- go out to breakfast with my dad

- make a Christmas list for the kids to send to grandparents

Not sure how long this baby would have to hold off for us to agree on a name for him/her, though...!
