I find out tomorrow morning! Can't wait, hope the baby is in a good position!!
Will You Find Out Your Baby's Sex? - Page 3
Yes I opt out of basically ALL other pregnancy testing but DH and I both really like knowing the sex for bonding throughout the pregnancy. And I like at least a basic scan for any red flags in the anatomy/cord/placenta since I am planning a home birth. Planning to go in just less than 2 weeks, baby will be around 19 weeks. Very excited! I am guessing (and kind of hoping!) another boy, but of course just hope to see a healthy baby!
We found out - we're having a boy! Our friends and family were eager to know too, but we made those who live nearby wait till we saw them to tell. We told them we'd give them the color candy representing the baby's gender. The waiting about drove them crazy, knowing that we knew and weren't telling them yet!
We have our 20 week ultrasound on Monday and we will certainly be finding out as long as the little thing is cooperative. I'm terrible at waiting things out and like many of you have said, for many reasons, it's important for me to find out. I definitely don't think the added surprise at birth is necessary when there will be so many other new experiences. I also am really hoping for a boy this time around and don't want the brief disappointment if it's a girl to ruin the birthing experience. I'm a planner and need to have all the information possible when available. I also hadn't thought of it before, but someone else mentioned that it's a way to help visualize the reality of it by knowing what and who is growing in there. I totally agree with that thought process and can not wait to get settled on a name! We still have yet to decide if we'll be sharing the news with others. I've gender reveal themed showers that seem kind of fun where it's a big reveal to all the guests on what the baby's gender will be. But I don't know if either of us could keep the secret! So that'll be up for debate on our 45 minute trek to our appointment on Monday! So we've both placed our bets and are anxious to find out who's intuition (or sheer hope) has proved them right.
What I'm really trying to focused on, which goes without saying, is that it's a healthy little bugger!
Thank you all for your responses. It's nice to get so many perspectives!
With my first DH had just arrived in the US and we went to town, but i realized that i was probably ovulating so we actually went for the morning after pill. So conception had to have happened very close to or after ovulation, and we have a beautiful dd!
Yep, Kitteh explained it correctly. It is only a theory, though, and not proven - case in point w/ Kitteh and her daughter! I was religiously tracking my temperatures b/c my cycles are very irregular. With how long my cycles were if we took the frequent sex approach we would have either been dead by now (from pure exhaustion) or be mean lean hot beefcakes from all the exercise! Probably TMI, but we know exactly when I ovulated for the cycle that took - we had sex O-6 days, O-5 days, and O-2 days .. then the egg popped (O=ovulation).
We'll see tomorrow ..... (getting more and more excited by the hour!!)
