Hi. I'm new here. I found my way while searching for doula/midwifery funding sources. I've read some of the posts and am really interested in getting my practice off the ground. There are no others here like me. Anyone have insight into introducing doula to local hospitals. I thought I had an in with an OB who delivered the 10 mothers I was doula for. But, he's not interested in bringing a program into the hospital. I'm passing out flyers at the local flea markets and universities; but would really like to get something bigger established. Any ideas?
Sorry, I have doula on the brain. My name is Ha-bee-bah, Habibah; mother of nine, the youngest of which is almost 19. I live in South Carolina and my local hospital still believes in fetal monitors, IV on admission, a time limit on labor and no VBACs.
