Down pillows - how to reuse/repurpose - any suggestions??

I have a few very tired - read flat and stained- down pillows that I don't know what to do with.

I don't think I want to make new pillows for sleeping upon - some of them have unidentifiable stains on their covers - would worry that the substance on their surfaces soaked through - or maybe I could just pick out the stained feathers???

Have you tried washing them? I wash my down pillows in the washing machine about once a year and then throw them in the dryer with a couple of tennis balls..when they're done they're like new and I fall in love with them all over again

Well, no I haven't -  I thought that would just make them worse. But yours have survived and thrived - so I am sure my should too. Off to gather them up and try your suggestions.
