I felt like we needed one.

Whats going on your life today?  Working?  Hanging out at home?  Told anyone your news yet?

Anyone had their 1st appt?  I won't have mine until late november (midwife is on holidays) and I'm eager to know what my due date might be, because I really have no idea!

Hmmm...not so much here!  The dog ate my glasses (eyesroll.gif) so I couldn't drive.  We stayed in and I broke my own rule and put a movie on for the kids. I have some wicked acid reflux going on and needed to lie down!

My parents are coming to visit tomorrow so we're all excited about that!!

Still don't know when my first appointment will be.  Hopefully soon though!

Went to planned parenthood for pregnancy confirmation yesterday... they have my due date as 7/4/12 even though I know it is 7/8/12 based on my cycle lengths and ovulation. They couldn't take my word for it on that and said I'd have to get an ultrasound if I wanted a more accurate date. So, I'm responsible enough to know my LMP, but too stupid to know my normal cycle length? I was going to adjust the first day of my LMP, but forgot. I have a midwife though, so hopefully it won't matter.

We get to go see the house we have just rented so we can measure the fridge space, so we can buy a fridge at the black Friday sale. We have been living in an apartment and I hate apartments. I'm pretty excited about the move. The house is in a good neighborhood and is in decent shape. It has a double oven! I'm excited about that. LOL

I originally was going to go in to my midwife around 8 weeks. But, I'm actually moving at around 8 weeks and won't be done with it all until around 9 weeks. Also, I realized I would rather wait until I was far enough along that she might have a chance of hearing the heartbeat, so I think I'll wait until 11-12 weeks. Darn, I just realized I'll be 12 weeks the day before x-mas eve. Hmmm... lol. I'll have to talk to my midwife and work it all out.

Dayiscoming, when you know the dates dont' line up sometimes its better to fib about when your LMP was.  My lmp and conception date dont really line up with the same due date so my plan is to go with the LMP because it gives me more time.  I have a history of very overdue babies, lol

I'm excited for black friday too! even though I dont really plan on buying anything, hoping a good deal on a new portrait lens for my camera pops up.

Isn't it annoying how they only look at lmp?! I have known for years that I ovulate late in my cycle, in fact, I normally have a very short luteal phase (one more reason, this pregnancy was meant to be). Especially, for someone like me who traditionally, caregivers (CNMs/OBs) that freaking out if you get too close to your due date. I always had to fight them to "let" me go past my EDD. That's one of the reasons, I'm so excited with my new midwives. They trust that I know my body. They're not afraid of some arbitrary due date or babies that might be too big.

Oh yeah, just have to share...Got home from date night last night and my 16 year old had actually managed to put both littles to bed! That was wonderful. However, he also somehow managed to put the 2 year old's diaper on BACKWARDS! I don't know how he could have done it. I was checking (in the dim light of a nightlight) if he had snapped it tight enough and I'm feeling all around for the snaps until I finally found them on the back. We were cracking up, trying not to wake him up. Hubby asked him this morning how he managed to do that and he has no idea! Too funny!

Dayiscoming, I am so excited for you with the new house!!! Congrats!

So, I officially have "morning sickness" (read: all day long sickness). Spent a good two hours actively trying not to throw up and lost the battle. I haven't thrown up with my last three pregnancies. One more reason to suspect twins, I suppose. Hubby and I really need to work on the announcement video, before it becomes so obvious that the kids figure it out on their own.

do you know when you're getting an ultrasound?

I haven't thrown up yet but i started gagging today from bad smells, it's coming!

There are only 2 midwives in my area, the one that attended my first birth wont take me as a client because she isnt taking clients from my town anymore, and the other one I have probably waited too long to get in with, because I left a message with the first one and had to wait almost a week to hear back from her.

Greaat, I'm going to have to convince my husband why I need to uc now.  I made an appt with my family doctor tomorrow because I still haven't seen anyone with this pregnancy and i'd like a dating scan and someone to do my prenatal care

Yes, on Tuesday. I'm very excited! If I hadn't lucked out with finding my midwife, I would have gone with an OB and an "oops, we didn't make it to the hospital on time" ha ha!

yep that's the plan.  Some women actually tell their doctors about their plans to homebirth and then are upset and confused when their ob's fire them at patients.. just don't tell them. lol

I'm still waiting for my first app't. It'll be Dec 3rd with a resident under my family doc. I hope to go with a midwife but I need to meet with my family care team to opt to go with the midwife. Oh well smile.gif. I'm feeling pretty darn good (knock on wood). I get kinda nauseous a bit here and there but overall this pregnancy so far has been easier. The big push now is to rearrange furniture. We need to get a mattress onto the floor and set up a big girl bed for DD. She has to be sound asleep for me to move her and she nurses down in a recliner on my lap. I want the mattress so I can nurse her lying down and just run away once she's asleep. I figure once that's well established, I can always add baby to the mix if need be - cant do that in the recliner! Ugh there is so much to do! Declutter, organize, stock up, get DD's old newborn clothes out, check the infant carseat...the list never ends! I'd love to start nesting but I generally need to be awake for that lol. I nap with DD and I go to bed at 8 pm and I'm still tired most of the time and practically nodding off! I wish I could have a coffee here or there but my nursling really gets a kick out of it so it's reserved for emergencies lol. Ok enOugh rambling at 2:30, good night ladies smile.gif

dayiscoming- how exciting about the house!  When we *finally* moved out of our apartment, I was soooo happy!  Did you find a fridge??  We don't really have black friday here...it kind of scares me!

lolliegee- Too funny about the diaper on backwards!  I'd like to have seen that...can't quite picture how he'd even get it done up!  Sorry about the morning sickness! :( It defnintely does make it harder to hide!

Sunnymuffin- part of me has always wanted to uc.  My husband would never go for it though...as it is, he called the midwife last time without telling me.  I swore up and down it wasn't really labour.  Turns out he was right! LOL

skycheattraffic- we do the mattress on the floor thing too.  It makes sneaking out so much easier.  I feel like a spy...I do this super stealth roll to get away!  lol

At least you're even thinking about nesting...I'm not even there yet.  Just "don't puke, don't puke, don't puke!"

As for me- It has been a very low key week.  I can barely get up off the couch.  My poor kids.  I'm really hoping this doesn't last!  I have an appointment with my midwife next Tuesday so hopefully she has some suggestions.

I'm a little sad...the midwife that was with us for my last two is on holidays in July!  She will still be my back up and will do some of my prenatals and will be there if I have the baby in June or August (yikes!) but otherwise, I'll have another one.  All the midwives in our practice are so wonderful and I am very thankful to have one.  Just a little sad as we have such a wonderful relationship with the one in particular!

We did find a fridge on sale. It was a 23.7 cubic foot LG. It's got lots of space and is well made. It fits our space perfectly as well. We are in the house now. Just moved in and it's so nice. Lots of unpacking to do still, but this is so much better than apartment living. I grew up in a trailer and then a regular house on 10 acres with woods, so this is a much better fit.

Sad you didn't get your midwife, but happy that you have a good practice.

still looking for a care provider.  I'm awaiting a dating ultrasound and if my due date isn't too close to the end of July then there is a midwife that will take me on. By my lmp its July 17 but you never know...

I know what you mean heyitskalista, one of the reasons I chose midwives is because I wanted the same person to deliver all my babies, and its not working out that way.

The one i had with my 1st wont take clients in my town anymore. The new one sounds nice though
