rear facing carseat rec for a 3 yo?

Greetings.

I'm in need, like in the next few weeks at least, of a new seat for my 3 yo ds2.  He's about 32 lbs & 32 or so inches. He's about to grow out of (for rear facing) his Britax Roundabout.  I'd like to keep him rear facing as long as possible.

Oh, I'm in the US.

If there is a website, link or anything where I can look for seats that are for rear facing longer than the US norm, please let me know that too.  Dh usually does this stuff so I am pretty clueless.

Thanks!

DS is in a Graco My Ride 65 Convertible Car Seat. It rear faces to 40 lbs. DS is 34+ lbs and 35 inches tall.. I can't remember this seat's specs on height restriction for RF but that should be easy to find in a Google search.

At that age and weight I'd look most seriously at the Radian. We have both a myride and a radian and at 3.5 the myride isn't very comfortable for RF. It is high and big where the radian is low and expansive. I just think the Radian is a lot more comfortable for RF. No complaints ever from DD in the radian about.

My dd was in a Safety 1st Complete air at that age.  She is VERY tall and can still fit it in rear facing at 4.5 (the seat recommendations say don't let them pass 40 inches, but her head is below the top of the seat.. so.......)  The radian has a super tall shell, but if I am correct, it needs to be installed at a 45 degree angle and at 3, that seems very reclined and a bit uncomfortable.  DD1 can still fit rear facing in that one too, so the shells are both long lasting for rear facing.

Thank you for the other ideas.  I will look at all three. happytears.gif

The radian can be installed more upright with an angle adjuster sold separately for about $10 for older kiddos.

My DD (25 lbs, 32 inches) is in a Graco MyRide 70. She has plenty of growing room and will RF until 40 lbs because she is short.
