Hi, I am super in shock right now. Tentative due date of August 15th. I am 38 and DH is 48. We were done. I am supposed to be having a tubal January 8th.  Instead I have a prenatal appointment on the 10th lol. We have a 6 year old boy and a 3 year old girl. My pregnancy with my 3 year old was traumatic in every way. She was early, had a stroke in delivery, her first year was awful and she still has some special needs. I don't have much trust in my body so this is going to be a very long 9 months for me.

I am 30, will be 31 when baby is born.  I have my own work at home business which keeps me busy and allows me to be home with the kiddos.  My DD is 6.5 and was a c/s for modified footling breech.  DS1 was a hospital VBAC.  DS2 was a HBAC.  Both my vaginal births were really long labors.  55 for he firs and 24 for the second.  I would love a 12-18 hr one this time ;)

After DS1 was born I started and led a chapter of ICAN until my husband was transferred out of state for work. 

We are strongly considering an UBAC for this baby...still have lots of time to weigh our options!  I'm due 8.05, but will likely go to 41/42 weeks again!

Okay ladies - I'm not sure I'd actually have an August due date, but hubby doesn't want to tell anyone we're expecting and I'm just dying keeping it all to myself.  Plus, I was hoping to get some feedback on timing.  I thought we might have conceived in November because it was so early in December.  However, a blood test revealed a low HCG level.  Could I be pregnant from conception on 12/5 or 12/8?  I had two positive pregnancy tests on 12/11 and a positive blood test with a 692 HCG level from yesterday.  I was a little nervous that I might have bled 11/31 - 12/3ish and thought I might have been pregnant during bleeding.  Have any of you had a positive pregnancy test before you even thought you had ovulated?  

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.  My son is turning 5 in April so we are THRILLED to be having another baby ;)

I'm not sure I totally follow your dates, but there's no way in heck you got a positive hpt on 12/11 from conception on 12/5 or even 12/8. Even people who get freakishly early hpts don't get them until 9ish days past ovulation. Your bleeding around 11/31 *could* have been implantation bleeding, but odd that it would have lasted so long. Lots of people bleed during pregnancy though - witness a good number of people on this thread! Will you have follow up testing done to determine dates?

Yes, thanks.  The blood test was through my ob who said it was probably a really early positive.  I don't see how it could be positive from 12/5 either, but I did read somewhere that you could have implantation after 3 days so I thought maybe that was it since I had some spotting on the 8th.  It seemed too heavy to be implantation bleeding at the end of November, but my doctor said I'm really early so I figured I just guessed incorrectly.  He said we'd schedule an ultrasound to determine how far along I am depending on the HCG levels.  Since they were low, I'm supposed to go have another blood test next week to be sure they're going up.  I started getting sore boobs today and I haven't had any bleeding or spotting since the 8th, so I'm hoping this baby is sticking in there!  

Thanks for responding.  I thought the timing was weird, but I don't have a ton of experience with only 1 pregnancy in my life.  :)

Hi everyone.  I'm here after 5 days of tests getting darker.  Whew!

My name is Emily, I'm 32 and so is my partner.  (He is my legal husband, but I try to remind myself to call him my and partner in solidarity with gay and lesbian couples, until they have the legal ability to have a "husband" and "wife" too, BIG deal for me) But I digress, as I have a tendency to do...

I have a 4yo DD, 23 mo DS (who is still nursing) and am due around Aug. 21, although I tend to birth around a week early.  I had both of my children at home in water with a midwife.  I plan to homebirth again.  I've moved since my last birth and am looking forward to meeting a new midwife, but pretty sad to not be birthing with my old one.  I love her!

I have had two pregnancies that didn't result in live births, once as a teenager (which ended via elective termination) and once between my two children (which ended via miscarriage).

I have been (near) vegan for about a year, and this will be my first sans-animal-product pregnancy.  I am so excited to see how it feels!

I've attended around 50 home and birth center births for training to be a homebirth midwife in my future.  Attending women in labor is the purest form of meditation for me.  I love it so much, and find it so interesting to watch the ways that all women are the same while giving birth, and the ways in which they are each unique.

Nice to meet you, very excited to share this journey.

Hi Everyone. I only lurked my last pregnancy so I thought I'd join in this time! I just got a positive test today! My due date should be Aug 25th according to my chart, but I went 2 weeks past last preg so....who knows. I'll probably be that angry last preggo who has to move to the sept DDC to get support from those who are still pregnant.

about me: I'm going to be 30 when this kiddo is born. I have a 14 mo son whom I'm still nursing. I had an attempted home birth last time with an emergency transfer right at the end. I still had a natural-ish vaginal birth (does it count if I was flat on my back with a bunch of nurses screaming at me to push? sheesh). I'm hoping to get an all-the-way home birth this time around! This kiddo was planned, and we actually only started trying this month. (I'm trying not to be smug about my great irish breeding genes, it's hard). I'm a little intimidated about the less than 2 year age gap, but if my mom survived it, I will too (right?).

Welcome. It is nice to chat and obsess with out the pressure to tell "real people" (aka people who will tell other people you know).

I am excited to see all the people who are still nursing. I nursed Monkey through Bee's pregnency and was really glad to have that relationship with both of them at once. Sad that Bee just weaned and we will not do that again.

I got my first super faint positive 5DPO.  While women typically don't experience implantation that early, it isn't impossible.  I got my first CLEAR positive at 8DPO.  I started spotting at 4DPO through 11DPO.  The mid cycle spotting is actually what turned me on to potentially being pregnant, lol.

I'm due August 1st, and am excited to join this forum.  My DH and I have a 20 mo DS.  I have my doctor's appointment on Monday.  I just wanted to say hello and send lots of sticky dust to all the ladies here.

Emily- I have a friend from Greenville, she hasn't lived there in many years. I think it was less than ideal for her, she's lives in San Fran now and that's more her speed.  But that chapel on the mountain sure looks lovely in photos!

Emily, I am in Greenville as well!  I didn't see that earlier.  I am not sure how to put where we are from yet- these message boards are new to me here.  I am from CA though, and somegirl, my oldest was born in SF at UCSF and because of complications before and after birth we lived there for about 6 months.
