I'm new to this forum. I have a 25 moth old son. Non vaxed. Just wanted to find some online friends for support. I'm so discouraged when I see others ( even friends ) say "My kid was exposed and has to take antibiotics because of the non vaxed kids" It makes me feel terrible like they (general population) is blaming non vaxed kids for outbreaks but.....hey I thought your kids were vaccinated and therefore protected. Guess not since vaccinated doesn't mean immune.

I just need some friends online that know where I'm coming from. I don't want to give into the pressure of all this since he's over two and the blood brain barrier is closed off. I was always under the impression I was helping him but everyone says I've done him harm. I thought keeping chemicals out of your kid was keeping them safe.

Anyway would love to make some friends.

Hi dinkeygirl!! I totally know what you mean! Everyone I know pretty much, besides my husbands family, is for vaccines and blame outbreaks on non vaccinated kids. I'm so sick of hearing that! I say the same thing, if you vaccinated your kids and they're supposedly protected then why are you so damn worried about your kids gettinthe disease?! Anywaysss I'm totally in the same boat and wood love to befriend you! =)

Hi again to all of you...For those of you not comfortable with your pediatrician, don't ever give up on finding one you ARE comfortable and can respect your decision. It might take some time, but I can tell you it is worth the search!!  My kids are almost 5 years old and I was so stressed out for the first few years...I was losing sleep over it. I thought we'd never find one and then low and behold, there was on one town over:) It never hurts to call as many doctors as you can and just ask if they will see unvaxxed kids or allow a delayed schedule.  (We switched doctors FIVE times!)  Finally a small town family practice was the answer. By the way, it is very easy to switch doctors, yet many parents I talk to reisist switching practices.  I, myself have switched doctors that weren't the right match for me...After all, why would I pay someone who wasn't giving me the best care? 

 Don't be afraid to ask other moms you chat who their doctor is and if they are fexible on vaccine schedules...eventually you will find a doctor's office that you are comfortable with.  It makes all the difference and gives you alot more confidence with your decision.

Someone posed a line that I adopted when asked about being up to date on vaccines at emergency rooms trips or other specialists that has made nurses ad docs who don't kow us back off...I simply say, "We are a non-vaccinating family".  I still cringe at the question, (and I am sure they cringe at my answer) BUT it makes me feel more confident and it immediately closes the discussion.  

 Going to the doctor sure is a lot more pleasant if your doctor respects your decisions for YOUR children.   Trust me...we had four doctors who didn't.    How nice it is now to have a positive relationship with our practice from the time we walk through the door.  I hope you all find a good doctor for you kids! :)

Hello new folks!

I have 2 kids 4.5 yr old DS and 7 month old DD. Both unvaxed. I have a few friends IRL who do not vax so that is nice. Mostly I just don't discuss it with anyone unless I know I'm going to get a respectful reaction. I've been on these forums for a long time and I come and go. It's always nice to have new people posting  - Welcome!

Hi guys, Im actually a father who didnt vaccinate his child and wondered if, considering the name of the site, it was ok to join. Forgive me if its not.

For the record, my daughter Libby is now 2 and a half and has never been ill for a single day. She got chicken pox and shook it off like it wasnt there. Hardly any tears, no scars and generally didnt effect her at all, still the smiling happy child she always was. I've never believed in vaccines and Im struggling at times with doctors and worried about schools etc. 

Would like to be part of a community that have chosen to not vaccinate their children and get some advice.

If fathers arent allowed Id be grateful for a link elsewhere and send my thanks. 

Oh and you may be interested in this which links to official Government documents on the subject.

There is a map on NVIC which says which exemptions are availible where, if you are in the USA.  Let me know if you cannot find it.

Depending on your state, you may be able to file for medical (which is hard in some states, like mine, NY), religious, and philosophical. Each state is different in terms of what it allows. Hopefully you are in a state that accepts it easily!!! You'll run into this with daycare or school as they will want to know about vaccines. I have a homeopath, and she actually has a letter all pre-written for our state on stating our religious exemption. (I'm not religious, but for the sake of vaccines, I AM!)

Hi all, I have three kids, two fully vaxxed teenage daughters and little DS, almost 18 months and unvaxxed. I began to connect some dots after my girls were too old to benefit much from the wake up call, but before DS was around. IRL we know 2 families of selective vaxxers, but it isn't something that comes up much. Family is supportive, so that's nice.

You're fortunate that your dd was able to get chicken pox so recently. People in my local natural parenting group are getting desperate to expose their kids without much luck.

My dd got it a few years ago. It was uncomfortable but she came through it fine as well.

The worst thing about that time period was getting hysterical group emails from a mother of a kid in her class who works for Sanofi and sent a link to a YouTube video showing someone with a rare bad reaction. 

But no one else in even the whole school got CP that year. 

My dd doesn't go there anymore, which is a good thing because I didn't make many friends with the parents. It's one of those highly-rated schools in a middle class neighborhood with a high vaccination rate yet many of the children have all these weird health issues that are now considered "normal" for kids to have nowadays, AND a completely separate eating area for kids with allergies.

Hi mommas! I wanted to share a book I have been reading that is EXCELLENT. It is called the Vaccine Safety Manual by Neil Miller. It is shocking and alarming what I have learned about vaccinations here and I'm only on the introduction so far! I know you can order this book on Amazon. I would highly recommend it.
