Bloat?

Thread Starter

I am only 5 weeks along but man, I am bloated.  I am not one to regularly weight myself but I did today and I am up 2 pounds? I have been eating really well so I am just surprised and wondering if it is mainly water weight.

Also, I am just so scared for week 6.  That is when I started throwing up during my first pregnancy and it was all day sickness. I was miserable. Those with other children, how do you get through each day?  I am really really hoping I will feel okay.

Fingers crossed!

My sickness hasn't started yet either.. just waves of nausea a few times today.  I know it's coming soon though.  Luckily my son is 16 months and I think he'll be fine with me leaving to go to the bathroom, the only problem I can see is he likes to drop things in the toilet and come "help" when I'm in there.

Maybe a plastic kitchen bowl would be a better idea, aha

I never had bad morning sickness with DD just waves of nausea, especially on an empty stomach. So far though this pregnancy is totally different and seems a bit easier. I'm in a really weird place with food. There are times I'm totally starving but nothing is appetizing! I don't just mean nothing in the house, I mean I can't think of anything I'd like to eat but I'm hungry as hell. eyesroll.gif

I feel the same as skycheattraffic. Totally not interested in any food at all one minute, then starving hungry the next....impossible to pin point exactly what I feel like eating though. I'm living off of gala apples, tea and occaisionally toast right now. Waves of nausea hit me randomly all day and I am pretty tired. My kids are 4 and 2, I've been able to make them nourishing meals (mostly veggie meals as handling raw meat is the worst right now but I've managed to cook a little chicken and beef for them) but cannot stomach to eat it too. I've felt bloated quite often too, starting around 5 weeks but I seem to feel less bloated these days. (am 8 weeks today)

In early pregnancy my body forgets how to digest.  Seriously, it slows down to a crawl - the food just sits there in a lump.  I've been popping digestive enzymes like there's no tomorrow and eating very small meals (snacks) every 2 hours or so.  Today has been better (so far).  Hoping I can keep it in check by being careful.

Definitely feeling the bloat here. Unfortunately, being a fluffy mama to start with, it just makes me feel and look fatter. :0/

I feel the bloating. I think I am going to have to go buy maternity pants. I have not gained any weight yet, but my stomach is bulged already.... I also have no appetite  sometimes, crazy hungry the next minutes. I am definitely nauseous. I have been so sick all day I was worried to be at work (as a teller at my window). But so far, no vomiting. Just the feeling like I am going to. It also wakes me up at night.

I'm so bloated, I look like I'm 6 months pregnant sometimes.

my bloat seems to disappear in the night, so i wake up pretty normal--though i think i've already taken a few pounds around the middle--and then by the end of the day i'm really bloated. this evening i looked at my reflection and guessed me about 4 months bloated :) but i'm sure it'll be back to restart tomorrow morning! :)

Thankfully my bloat subsided a bit overnight last night, too. We started our Thanksgiving travels on Tuesday and all of my pants fit fine. By Wednesday I was not comfortable in anything but yoga pants. We had a five-hour drive on Wednesday to our second location and I had to unbutton my pants in the car. Of course, I forgot to button them up when we stopped for lunch.

Waves of nausea for me, too. And I had food aversions at the beginning of the week and last week, but I am doing better with that.

I have the same problem! I was SO constipated my first pregnancy with gas that just stayed trapped in my gut. That seems to be starting back up for me. I'm going to have to get some digestive enzymes, hadn't thought of that. I started with stool softeners of couple days ago, eliminating dairy, adding kale and some fiber stuff Dh got to my smoothies and I'm trying to make sure I get some exercise every day. It's hard at the office now that it's getting cold out, no one wants to go for a walk. On a good note I'm feeling less nauseated that I had been so yay!

Another helper for constipation is magnesium.

I'm also feeling very bloated, Hungry and nothing sounds good! Im almost 8 weeks and I am already in a larger size pants. Its kind of freaking me out. The nausea hit me last week and I cant seem to eat much other than granola with bananas. I was eating so healthy before. hopefully this yucky feeling wont last long. Sometimes Im so tired I feel like I cant do anything!  I went for a walk this morning and it has given me more energy today, very thankful since I need to clean my house because the in-laws are coming this week. Hugs to you mamas.

THanks, I added this to my regiment. Not sure what it is but something is working thankfully. Hopefully it stays this way!

I feel bloated, by I'm a million more times annoyed with how much I'm sweating. Especially at night. I even have a towel next to my bed to wipe off.

Yeah, geez, me too with the sweating! So gross!

Definitely bloated here! I can't decide how much of my belly is fat, how much is bloat, and how much is me starting to show. I poke out in front, and often feel like I look 4-5 months already!

Sooo bloated here too. People at church were all commenting, wondering why I hadn't told them I was pregnant. When I said its because we just found out they were... Shocked, to say the least!
