Yay girls!  The director of my burlesque troupe just had a girl in July, and the joke is now that we're breeding our own future spinoff troupe.

So many girls! How fun! Congrats ladies! I keep having girl dreams, so we shall see...

Of my 6 children, I found out the gender with 3, and not with the other 3. Leaving it a surprise was SO SO much fun! It gave me something so awesome to focus on during labor- finally getting to learn if it was a girl or boy in there all this time (it was a boy all 3 times, LOL). With my last pregnancy, I had already had 4 boys in a row and my curiosity got the better of me- I just couldn't wait to know if I was finally going to have a girl or not! So, I found out BUT I didn't tell a soul besides my husband. :) And that worked really well for me. I think I will probably do the same this time. :) That way it will still be a fun surprise for everybody else!

For those of you not finding out, I think that is really special! Waiting til the end really can be so worth it. love.gif It is so fun to look forward to seeing who's in there, crying with joy the moment you peek between the legs, and then getting to announce to everybody that's been anxiously waiting! love.gif

Reading all of these posts is getting me so much more excited than I already was! I am 16 weeks and 3 days right now. I got to hear the heart beat yesterday and it was so cool joy.gif... Yesterday we also made the appointment to find out the sex. So we will HOPEFULLY be finding out (assuming the positioning is right) on January 3rd! So three weeks from today. I can't wait I am sooo excited. We've already had one ultra sound and that was amazing... the baby was moving so much every time the tech would poke me.

My cousin and his wife waited to announce the sex until the baby shower because they did not want a bunch of gender specific gifts and I am thinking that I would really like to do that... I read some of your posts and I'm feeling like not telling anyone would be nice and avoid all the "pink frilly stuff" or "blue stuff." But I feel like people really are sooo pushy about wanting to know... I don't know if I could hold it in all that time! My mother and sister are coming to the ultra sound (I was at the one for my nephew) so they will know, but I'm really starting to think I'd rather not tell anyone else. Maybe I'll tell people that we couldn't tell at the ultrasound and we've decided to just wait till birth. hmm decisions decisions.

If you want a neat idea for a gender reveal at a shower, I saw an idea on pinterest.  You have a the shower cake (the cake itself) baked pink or blue, then have it iced in white.  When you cut into the cake you can see the color, and that is the reveal.  Actually, was that on here, or on pinterest??  Now I forget.  Anyway, wherever it was the person actually didn't find out herself either.  She had the tech put it in an envelope, and gave the envelope to a girlfriend, who gave it to the baker so that she would find out at the shower too.

We had our anatomical scan yesterday. The tech was funny, when we said we weren't finding out she goes, "phew, easier on me." But she was actually super diligent - the fetus was not being cooperative at all with position, so it took a loooong time. She asked me to pee, dance around a little bit, turn on one side ... then the other ... then back. She was pressing so hard with the transducer she kept asking if she was hurting me (no, fortunately)! She wasn't even positive she had gotten all the images she needed of the heart and spine, and since we're moving Wednesday she was trying not to have to have me wait and schedule another U/S in Germany, so I appreciated her taking the time and being patient about it. Hopefully they'll have gotten what they need to scan for issues.

In the waiting room we kept joking that maybe we'd find out the sex after all, but just not tell anyone. Finally decided definitely not to - Zjande's comment above sealed the deal, as I just can't wait for that moment after giving birth when we get to see for ourselves!

Is it weird that I thought the LO's cutest part was his or her scrawny little butt??! So unlike his/her mother, hahaha

With 3 babies, you'll have your hands full either way! With all one gender, at least it should make buying clothes a bit easier! smile.gif

Wowzers!!  Congrats!  I do feel like 3 boys would be easier than 3 girls, but I only have a boy so what do I know?

Congrats smile.gif Someone had to have some boys around here! Good luck with choosing names, though I find boy names easier to choose than girl names, still though 3 boy names!

Thanks all. smile.gif We are having a very, very difficult time with the names! The only name I was completely certain on was a girl name. Of course.

Lisedea, you could always write to Swistle! http://swistlebabynames.blogspot.com/ She's had a few triplets but I bet she'd like another. Or mosey over to the name thread and let us all opine :D

Baby/fetus butts are so funny! They are all so tiny like that. I think they gain weight there last.

We are having a BOY!!!!  We are so excited!  We had the tech write it down on a card and put it in an envelope and we opened it (sort of) privately.  I was really expecting it to say girl so it was a really fun surprise.

He's healthy and was very wiggly!  I am relieved about that because this whole pregnancy I kept having this feeling creep up that something was wrong.

That sounds like such a  nice idea! I might end up going with something like that! Although I definitely don't think I could wait till the shower to find out myself, it will be nice to reveal it to my loved ones in a creative way! =)
