Breastfeeding and Liver Disease

My son is 6 months old, and is breastfed.

However. 

I was just diagnosed with Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease. I am waiting to see a GI and get a liver biopsy, but I need to find out everything I can before I go to this meeting, because I am NOT willing to give up nursing my son before he at least turns 1. (Ideally, I won't wean him until he's ready, but 1 is my bare minimum.)

Does anyone know if I will be told to wean or forced to? I'm really scared here, but need to sort this piece of the puzzle out.

I don't know if this will help, but I have hepatitis and can breastfeed without issue. I also have fatty liver I believe. If I chose to be treated then no, I couldn't nurse during and 6 months after treatment. My doctor was comfortable with me prolonging treatment. I'd try to call the GI you'll be seeing just to ask.
