Pregnancy Brain?

Thread Starter

Hi everyone! I formally introduced myself somewhere on the introduction thread!

Anyway, I'm wondering who else is having "Pregnancy Brain?"

Like, I just poured Powered Sugar to get the stuck spot off of my pan. Instead of Baking Soda.

And yes, the jars are well-labeled.

I swear my ability to think an intelligent thought from beginning to end is SO difficult.

I'm amused that something the size of a lentil can cause this much ...(I can't think of the word. I blame Pregnancy Brain.)

What are your stories?!?

Oh gosh... First came pregnancy brain, then mommy brain, and now pregnant mommy brain!! I remember opening the fridge to get a clean diaper and putting the cheese in the cupboard specifically lol. Sugar vs baking soda at least has a common thread: white powdery stuff! If anything interrupts my train of thought, watch out! The thing I do inadvertantly most often is parent the cat: "no thank you, that's DD's food. It's rude to take others' food" eyesroll.gif
Besides these little misadventures, I find I have zero memory. If it isn't written down, it doesn't exist in my universe. Thankfully DH is doing the finances now as well as anything administrative. Oh and I'm even more notorious for going to the store to get a loaf of bread and coming home with everything except that. My shopping list app is a lifesaver!!

Oh my god! I thought this would happen later in the pregnancy, but I have been plagued by this as well! I put on the wrong shoes, walk to the car without the car keys, go to get the car keys and realize now I left my purse etc. I also forget to finish things at work,.... which is really bad. My husband constantly laughs when he is talking to me because I will forget what I was saying mid sentence and not even notice that I did not finish my sentence!

Um. I went grocery shopping this week and sat down after to eat something and then left. Without my groceries. I got halfway across the parking lot before it even occurred to me that I was forgetting something.
I walked back in all like- "yeah, I just had this really important thing to do outside and now I'm coming back in to get my grocery cart. Through the exit door against the stream of people leaving. Yep, totally meant to do that. I got this."
It was a special moment.

My son wanted to make carrot cake to take with us today. I sat down to make my store list, opened the cookbook and proceeded to write down everything we needed...except carrots!

I have been surprisingly good in that area. Probably because I haven't been able to leave the couch in 3 days.

I have to really focus to avoid doing stupid stuff and definitely got memory issues. Yep...

Some of you guys' stories are HILARIOUS! I could so see myself doing those things. I lost my keys with the door lock remote on it when I was pregnant with DD. We had just bought the car too. We never found them and have yet to invest in another remote, but thankfully we had spare keys. I also lost my cell phone during that pregnancy. Never found it again and I am just grateful it was a cheap prepaid phone with not so many minutes on it.
