I like Scandinavian names, too, especially Anders for a boy.

I love reading everyone's name choices!  We always have a hard time with boy names, and find several girl names that would work for us.  :)  Each child has 1 middle name, and every name is after someone special in our families.  It may be hours after baby arrives, but it will have a name.  :)

I like traditional names too, maybe old fashioned is a better term. All my kids have them. I also like short single syllable names, (usually what they end up with for middle names) but dh won't go for the ones I really like, because those are non-traditional. Stuff like "Fox."

If we have a boy, it would be a hard fought battle for him to have any name besides Julian. It was dh's gmpa's name and he is TIED to it. I like it, but I don't love it. And his gmpa hated it! He never went by it. I dont think we will either, but dh doesn't know that.

I just don't like naming things before you see them. It's the same for pets with me. I just can't get past it!

Clara is sticking in my head lately.  Hmmm...

I love the name Clara. My sister's name is claire so if we went with Clara, it would probably be a middle name to avoid confusion.

I'm the same.  Last time we had a short list, but waited until we met our baby to make our final decision.

Yeah. Last time we had three of each boy and girl names and decided when he arrived.

We're prone to picking a name that we like, relying on it throughout the entire pregnancy, and changing out minds at the last minute. smile.gif. But I feel like we're running out of boy names, so... Who knows what will happen this time. But I agree: I don't like to absolutely decide (or tell people, for that matter) until the baby's here.

Now I am thinking I love Mabel for a girl! My DD1 is Evie Ryan. Evie is with a long e. Ryan is my husband's middle name so we thought that was cute. So maybe Mabel Catherine, since Catherine is mine. :)

I love it!

I love Mabel, too. One of my son's friends is named Mabel and she is just the cutest little girl, too, so great name association here on that one!

Mabel is such a pretty name!  When I hear it I can't help thinking (in a good way) of Mabel's introduction in Pirates of Penzance (if you're not familiar with it watch first 30 seconds here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YhAfKkdQPQ).

We are thinking:

boy: Jacob. I also like Otto
girl: maybe Vera, Isobel, Helen. I also like Ada.

DH is German, so it would need to work there, too. I kept my last name, so that may become their middle name. or maybe we'll hyphenate our kids' last names?

Isobel reminds me of that awesome Bjork song!

I'm with those who don't typically decide until baby is born. I did know DS1's name before he was even conceived, but I don't like to announce it or use it until baby is born (in part because I don't find out gender so could always be wrong!).

The weird thing is, this time, I had a dream the day I found out (because of the dream) that I had a baby boy and was having trouble finding my DH to discuss names (really praying that part does not come true!!!). In the dream, I recalled the name I'd picked out for a boy in my last pregnancy, and knew I'd go with that one. I've since settled on a middle name, too. We'll see if it sticks and if this really is a boy, but it's kind of cool and kind of odd to have those things picked out so early!

I have 3 kids.  Abigail Joy (Abby Joy), Josiah Steven (Joey), and Elliana Faith (Ellie Faith) So with this fourth I think i'm having a girl (but don't know yet, i'm only 11 weeks) But if it IS a girl I have chosen Charlotte Love Nickname can be either Charlie or Lottie. I haven't found any boy names yet. :/

My husband is suddenly in love with the name August for a boy. I like it- but I worry that it would seem weird since baby will likely born in the month of August. Am I crazy?

I love the name August, and even cuter that he is born in August! People will rarely make that connection, but even if they do, I don't think it's weird at all!
