large photo calendar with spaces for 1 large and 1 small photo on same page?

I know there are tons of companies now that produce photo calendars -- I upload cute photos of my kids and they make it into a calendar.

Does anyone know of a photo calendar company that will allow me to put two photos on the same page, one much bigger than the other? I think my ideal would be to have the small photo overlap or be on top of a corner of the big photo. Even better, just let me design the layout myself with re-positionable, adjustable photo boxes, rather than just a few set layouts.

I also want a large-ish calendar -- 11x14 or 12x12.

For the last few years I've been using Snapfish and I've been very happy with the calendars. But now that I have a second kid, I'd like some pages to have a big picture of one kid and a small one of the other. (And I'd reverse who was big vs. small on another month's page.) Snapfish has an option to lay it out like that side by side with two vertical photos. But it's not really big and small.

I thought I'd ask here before wasting a ton of time poking around other companies' websites.

i am a massive fan of the calendars that Apple does thru their iPhoto or Aperture programs, I'm not sure if there is a way to do them online without the programs.

we do a lot of printing thru them and it is amazing the level of customization available and the high quality of the outcome.

Thanks for the tip! I do have iPhoto so I just played around with the Apple calendars a bit. They do look nice but I don't see any option for a large and small photo on the same page -- you can have two photos on a page, but still not what I'm looking for. Actually, Snapfish allows for quite a bit more customization.

Any other suggestions?

can you just make the two images a single image like you want it to look and then use that composite as a single picture in a calendar? that is what i would probably do.

Hmm, that's a good idea -- that hadn't occurred to me. You mean like in Photoshop or Illustrator or something? Or are you aware of a way to do it right in iPhoto?

Have you looked at smilebook? I used them to create 2 normal type calendars last year for the grandmas. I was able to do something like that for those, so I would assume you could do the same on a bigger one?

Also, might be too late if you are looking for holiday presents, but Groupon and Living Social frequently run deals on the photo book sites.

Just checked out Smilebook -- they have neat stuff, but same problem -- among their zillions of layouts I don't see a single one with one large and one small photo, and no way to change the size/shape of a photo box.

This is hard!

i think it would take a program that had layers, so yeah something like photoshop or there isa lot of simple photo editing programs that are a hella lot easier to learn if you dont use PS already.

buts a pretty simple edit, so even if you dont use PS you probably can find someone to do it for you.   if you dont have someone and did it, i would be willing

Shutterfly has layouts like that, with 1 big photo and 1 small, but I don't think they allow calendars as big as you are looking for!
