Here's my birth story. Its long because I want to beable to come back and read it when i've long since forgotten

I woke up at 3:30 in the morning on the 25th just because, whichhad become a habit over the last couple of weeks. over the next two hours I had crampy contractions. I didn't think a lot of it till about 6 am when i realized this was it. These were the internal, feel like something is being pulled out of your core ctx. I went and told Dh and he sorta rolled his eyesdispite me telling him I know this is it.
This is exactly how labor started with Dd3 and she was a 27 hour labor. So we got up, cleaned house a bit, and then asked MIL to watch the girls so we could go walk. The ctx were not being wonderfully consistent, but there was at least ome every 18 minutes. about 1pm we dropped off the girls. I told MIL I did not believe we would be back. ctx were mostly 6-7 minutes apart, still not awful, still not reliable. we went to my fav book store and the ctx got stronger. We went to target to pick up a gift for my other three girls for when we get home. By the time I could not stay still during a ctx I had to pace. Now 4 1/ minutes apart but still not reliably so.
We drove home, the plan was to reheat some tday leftovers, take a shower, feed the animals and if things continued to get more painful to head to the hospital. I jumped in the shower while Dh got the stuff out of the car and fed the animals. By that time i was on the floor doing pelvic tilts trying to make it through ctx. I told him we needed to go to the hospital I'd had enough and wasready for some pain killers. I popped some tylenol when we got home at 5:30, we were at the hospital a bit after 7. I was pacing while the nurse admitted us to triage. Dh had to answer her questions, my brain wouldn't answer properly.
I was at a four which waswhat my OB told me I needed to be at to be admitted. Nurse said on call OB wanted me at a 5 so she would do a nst and vitals then they would probably get me to walk the halls and try again in an hour or so. My bp was high and the nst showed my ctx were still being wonky. 4-5 minutes mostly and then 8-9 for one or two then back to close together. The on call OB came in and said that I was not in active labor but they would admit me anyway. Nurse came into draw blood and get heplock on (which i wasokay with since mybp was high and knew things may take a sour turn). She told me the oncall Ob asked her and the admitting nurse if they thought i was in labor and they both said yes just based on my behavior. I thought that was funny.
i get to the birthing room, new nurse checks me and i'd progressed to a 6 in the 40 or so minutes i'd been there. i am pacing the room, my breathing and grunting became loud moans and some yelling. i was also laughing in an attempt not to cry. Nurse tells me not to laugh it uses the same muscles as pushing which of course makes me laugh. She heads out to check what oral pain med he'd ordered forme. By the time she returns I tell her to call the anestesiologist. Forget oral, pacing isn't working anymore, can't sit down, pelvic tilts not working. I'd never progressed so quickly so I hoped the epi wouldn't slow things down but the thought of continuing without it was overwhelming.
Dh went to move the car and bring our bags in (things have changedsince the last time we were here so he spent forever trying to find an unlocked door to get backto me). Anest showed up. I hate anest, it's residual from Dd1's fiasco of a birth. This guy bugged me for some reason..... but i am probably biased. This is wheni really began to like my new nurse. She helped me get in position. This guy took FOREVER. He kept hitting nerves and I was getting seriously aggrivated. He finally gets it done and does the test dose, "let me know if u hear ringing or ur heart race." Fortunately Dh comes in the door right then. I immediately tellhim my head feels swimmy, then my whole body, then my feet start shaking. the whole time the nurse is calling out numbers. It took me a minute to realize she was calling out my heart rate. He pulls the catheter out when my heart rategoes over 120 and explains it went into a blood vessel. I'm nothappy with this guy.
He goes up a vert to try again. This time he is evenworse at hitting nerves. I am in tears screaming at him to take it out. I scream athim that I don't want it, pull it out. the nurse and Dh are holding me in place. i have a ctx at the same time. He was ignoring me of course, placedthe catheter and pulled out the needle. This time he got it right. just like last birth though it's not 100% on one side.
It is now after 9. I start to relax and get some sleep, the ctx get stronger and stronger till the one side felt almost as bad as before igot the epi. nurse comes to check on babe cause heart rate is funky. It's 11:30 and she's ready to come out. I thought we were close but wasn't feeling pushy as i had with the last two. it's just Dh, me, the OB and the one nurse. perfect just the way i like it only the change in my position (bum forward, legs up) has suddenly made the epi work properly. i can't feel the ctx. The nurse is feelingmy belly to cue me when to push but not only can i not feel it they suddenly spaced out. it was about ten minutes before i had one. three ctx later i felt her head pass. the cord was wrapped around her neck once. I could see him remove it, then he handed her to the nurse to hand to me. I had a split second flitter of terror. She was dark dark blue. never had one come out so dark. She screamed almost immediately tho so the nurse and i just dried her while she laid on my belly.
This was the first time i tore, but honestly it hurts far less than the last two which were considered scratches. While he stitched me I attempted to get her to eat but she had lots of gunk in her throat. The nurse asked to take her to the table to suction her out. Dh held her while she did that and then she was right back on me and went straight to nursing. She nursed for two hours straight. i was rubbingher back the whole time expecting her to fall asleep eventually. at an hour she unlatched, i burped her and she started rooting again. switched sides where she ate another hour. She weighed in at 8 lbs 5 oz after feeding and was born two minutes before midnight.
she is nursing extremely well. I am not sleeping well though. my spine hurts. I've got a knot where he messed up. They said its probably just bruised. I was trying to float by with otc pain killers like i've done pp before, but took some stronger stuff to try and sleep tonight. It helped with the pain, but I am still having trouble sleeping.
Sorry for the errors throughout. I'm using a tablet, been nursing while typing, and it's been a work in progress for two hours
I will post pics once we are home.
