Yeah, this!  Once I am up and moving I'm ok but those first few steps are bad.

I've been drinking a cup of prune nectar every night before bed in order to keep things moving, in addition to a cup of coffee in the morning.  Only thing that seems to work for me!

Yes. My last pregnancy was much more uncomfortable than this one has been.
Literally the first thing I said after giving birth was "I'm so glad I'm not pregnant any more!"

Thankfully I'm not at that level of discomfort this time around, but I am definitely looking forward to painless, though interrupted, sleep.

Buko - I was pretty active right up to the end with DD.  We were building our house and moved in (finished moving in) a few days before her due date - about 2 weeks before she was actually born.  I fell off a ladder at 37 weeks.

However this pregnancy is a totally different story with the twins.  I'm feeling almost totally incapacitated.  It's so hard to accept that the babies still need to cook a little longer when I look and feel way past 40 weeks.  I'm not as uncomfortable as I could be, but just SO tired.

Done? Hell yes. Book me a ticket out of here. :)

no more falling off ladders!

This pregnancy DH made a "no pregnant women on ladders" rule around 18 weeks or so. LOL.

Me too! We finally had some days off to do things around the house and I feel so useless. My back gets tired so fast and I need to sit down all the time. Sigh!

Old lady hobbling happening here too, and I'm officially 'waddling' in general now... I am super tired all the time, back starts to hurt from minimal walking with any load. Still, I was trying to exercise - 30 mins walk to my nearest library twice a week or so, then getting the bus back, but after yesterday's trip I don't know how many more of those trips I have in me, lol. My feet have threatened to swell a couple of times, prompting me to get off them asap.

I feel huge although I dont really look it. She is definitely on the grow though, her limbs are often about an inch from my ribs. Yesterday in the shower she started doing some really big strong movements which started giving me pains in the upper thighs and cervical pressure. No idea what nerve she was hitting but whoa nelly! At 34 weeks+2 I know she needs more cookin time, I'm not in the done camp...yet.

I did a lot of cooking and cleaning yesterday and had a touch (but just a touch) of lower back fatigue and pain.  I haven't had much of that-- I know, lucky.  I also had a more significant amount of pubic pain, but not totally intolerable.  However, last night, I made the HUGE mistake of lying on my side-- with my belly pillow, knee pillow, etc...-- but still.  I was HORRIBLY cranky and stiff and in moderate pain when I woke up, but since we could sleep in today, I hauled my Liberator ramp back on the bed and slept in my usual elevated-on-back position for a couple more hours and felt MUCH better.  (Do you like all my CAPS for EMPHASIS?  LOL)  Anyway.  I really recommend elevated back sleeping.  I'm going to keep doing it until I start having numbness issues, etc. if/when the baby gets big enough to cause them.  (FWIW, when I sleep on my side and do roll over flat on my back, I have those issues, but not when so elevated on the ramp.)

Yep, I feel the fat forever thing too. My body is huge overall and I discovered my double chin the other day, immediately before the first of many snow storms (which means I've officially cut out the exercise I was getting by walking to and from work- plus it's supposed to be -22 tomorrow morning, so I don't imagine I'll be doing any walking on my first day back after vacation). I predict a lot of weight gain, bursts of angry frustration while getting dressed, and general avoidance of mirrors for the next month.

I tried to go out for a little hike with some friends last week and found that everything from my waist down hurt unbearably within an hour. I tried to tough it out but had to give in and take a seat before heading back home, cutting everyone's day short and making me feel like a huge, useless downer. I've always been fit, so this was really embarrassing.

It's almost over... It's almost over... It's almost over...

I suddenly feel like my body has fallen apart. I think it's due to not being able to sleep at all at night, and not really able to nap when I get the chance either. Heartburn, swollen legs, old lady hobbling, constant low-grade headache, hips feel like they have given up (like I'm just gonna fall on my face if I walk around for too long), blah blah blah. I am now wishing to ay and all higher powers that this baby is more of a 38 weeker!

I also have a double chin now!  Ugggg- I just feel huge all over.  My ring doesn't fit, my socks leave indents in my ankles, and I get totally out of breath walking upstairs to our bedroom.  Six more weeks...

today i've been having this really strange stabbing pain in my vag, paired with sore muscles at my crotch. i have done nothing except climb a million stairs and cook/bake. the stairs are nothing new. is this normal? i have yet to feel any contractions so i'm not sure what they even feel like. i feel pretty dumb.

Sounds kinda like pubic symphysis pain?  I mean, I'm not sure about the "stabbing pain in the vag," because it depends on just what that means.  But that's what I am dealing with, on and off-- I say "my crotch is crotchety."

When my baby kicks or punches at the cervix it kind of feels like stabbing pain in the vag.  But it's usually when the baby is obviously active and doesn't correspond to anything I'm doing at the time.  And it's a very occasional thing for me right now.  Often when she's punching around in that area she also punches at the bladder too.

i wish i could describe it better, it's like a quick sharp stab in my cervix, but it lightening bolts through the whole area. it happened first when i was walking around in home depot, then again yesterday a few times, randomly. baby is always active, but i didn't feel any pressure anywhere at the time. pregnancy is just so weird!

Look up "lightening crotch." It's a thing. :) I have it a lot in the evenings when the baby is active.

yup to the sharp jabbing pain.  i figure it's fists, or whatever it is, i get off my feet and moan that i can't finish the dishes or mop the floor.  my cervix is totally tender and feels soft and open (i check it after a few rounds of strange pain during love-making) and so i can identify that feeling as something sharp on my cervix.  thankfully, it doesn't usually last!!!

did a photo shoot w/ a friend yesterday- funny how people think some things are attractive when you're a whale that just seem odd to me.

there were a few i liked which i hope to see before the birth and can post here.

other than feeling huge, having minimal appetite, mild reoccurring hemorrhoids,  and aching at the end of the day, it's really not bad for me.  i'm sleeping almost 10 hours a night though.  i have done that in every pregnancy- just need to sleep an insane amount.  probably b/c i don't eat enough to stay awake.  making frozen yogurt and popsicles and juicing to make sure i'm getting enough each day.  i'm thankful ever day that since i tend to go late, my last few months really aren't bad.  granted, my stretch marks are under my belly, and i don't have a lot of mirrors!  both good things for being HUGE and rather naive about it!
