I'm taking a page from Odinsmama's book and working from home for the next two days so I can relax and prevent encouraging anything from happening this early. In addition to the fact that I'm just 36 weeks tomorrow, I'm training my replacement at work right now and she's not quite ready yet so I'd really like to make sure that I have another week with her, if at all possible.

Hope your work at home days do you some good. My rest day seems to have paid off so far. Much fewer BH and no more signs of mucus. Felt rather useless all day but at least we had good weather so the boys ran around in the back yard most of the day.
Planning to keep resting some this week but I've got to do at least a few tasks around here. Don't know how the bed rest mamas do it, I was so freakin bored and ended up watching something on netflix just so I wouldn't get up and do things I was wanting to do.

sooooooooo overdid it.

i had horrible gas and BH last night that made sleep a bit rough, but it never felt urgent, just uncomfortable.  then today, husband had to go out of town until tonight, so kids from first thing on.  i thought a fun trip out to get cookie cutters for a playdate tomorrow would be nice, so after finally getting the house done and 4 kids ready to go, slipping across the ice carrying my 25lb baby and then my 40lb 3 year old and getting them in the van, the van is DEAD.  not like *hack hack* i can almost do this dead, but it took 20 min of jumping to get it actually to turn over dead.  really dead.

but, the kids are all done up (still) and were tortured by the thought of NOT getting cookie cutters, so we head out anyways (by now i've cried, yelled at everyone for yelling at me, and cried a bit more).  car of course dies again, but it jumps right back up and we make it home for 'naptime'.  but my belly is wretched now!  every time i get up, walk, try and do anything, it's in incredible achy pain.

ugh- husband isn't home until after bedtime, and i'm supposed to be working (have done 2 counseling sessions, due for one more and 2 hours of admin work) and i'm totally shot.

I worked through my rest time yesterday too, and that probably didn't help!  but ugh, the pain is unreal and i've got snacks, dinner, and entertainment for 5 more hours.....  thank God there's an outlet for my stress here!

Aw HoP, sounds like a rough day.

Last night I had the worst insomnia, was only sleeping for 1 hr at a time. I guess I should just get used to it!

I got my prenatal records from my doctor today to add to my hospital bag, so I got the chance to look over my information (since she really never told me anything unless I specifically asked). What an interesting read!

It turns out that my fundal height has been consistently 2-3 inches larger than gestation, yet another indication that she's going to be a big baby - which also makes me feel a little more relaxed about all the pre-labour symptoms I've been having over the last week.

I finally figured out what the baby hiccups feel like. I honestly thought they were very active little punches until my midwife today felt them. I feel bad for our LO! He/she has a pretty big run of them about every day.

i feel bad for baby when she gets them, too! i can tell they annoy her sometimes, because she starts moving her arms around her face and sticking her butt out of my side like, 'make it stop!'

Same here! I rarely get the hiccups but when I do they're really strong and actually kind of hurt, so when I feel her get them and they're really strong I always feel bad for her. She starts squirming around, kicking and punching when they happen. Poor little thing

Uhhh, I am sick of the hiccups.... Little baby has them 2-3 times a day and they last at least 5-10 minutes.  It drives me crazy, although it doesn't seem to bother little one at all.

while the baby hiccups are getting quite annoying for me - i've been told they don't bother baby because what makes them bother us is the air and they aren't breathing air..  ?? who knows though.

I'm officially DONE, by the wya, the  past few days have been miserable - tired and huge and my belly is just hanging off of me feeling really heavy and all this pressure.. this part feels more like my first pregnancy than the last 2 when i was 'fine' until more like 38-39 weeks  (i'm almost 36 wks)  i'm probably just paying for feeling so good for such a big chunk of this pregnancy..

Wow, major attack of weepy hormones. I feel pretty crazy today and will cry for just about any reason. Is 3:00 too early for bed time?? Waaahhhh
Plus I have been wide awake since the 4 a.m. bathroom visit, so that's not helping me feel any less unhinged.

warm bath, hot tea, some cookies (or just a mug of frosting) and then straight to bed w/ you!  that's my prescription.

(off to take some of my own medicine, and yes, there is a mug of frosting in my fridge!)

I'm a little afraid of the weepy hormones making an apearance today at my baby shower. My best friend has been gathering videos from all the family and friends who we haven't seen in 8 months or more and we're showing those. I better find my waterproof mascara.

Thanks.  :)  Still weepy and feeling very off but not as bad as earlier.  We'll see if I can keep the tears under control once my poor hubby gets home.  *crossing fingers that I'll be sane by then*

I've actually been wondering if the fact that I baked cookies and have eaten several of them over the last 2 days is part of what's affecting my mood.  I eat plenty of carbs but it's actually been quite a while since I've had that much sugar.  So the mug-o-frosting, while it would be tempting any other day, kind of makes me want to barf just thinking about it.  :)

Tea and a bath sounds great.

And I'm googling "crying before labor" to see if it actually means I'm getting close to the big day, even though I'm still a few weeks early.

So, yeah, not totally sane yet.  Hoping I'm not having a baby tonight.  Worn out.  Had a teeny tiny bit of color (pinkish? brownish?) on the toilet paper with my one-thousandth trip to empty my bladder today.  Hoping I'm not having a baby tonight!

Sorry, Odinsmama...I had a hormonal evening yesterday and was kind of a wreck. I hope you can keep baby in a bit longer!

Staci, I feel sort of done at 35/36 weeks. I feel guilty and silly feeling done already when I likely have a month left, and I know I'll just feel MORE done soon, but ugh. I'm uncomfortable. Also, my Braxton Hicks have been out of control the last few days, and definitely more uncomfortable. I'd better get used to it...

I had a big crying fit in the days after our move because I was too nervous/excited/stressed to sleep for a few nights.  Lack of sleep will do that to you.  I did get weepy in the week leading up to labour last time too...hope your baby stays put a while longer odinsmama.

As for me.  SO much pressure on the bladder.  All day every day.  Lots of trips to the bathroom in the day and night.  I think it's affecting my water intake too because it's hard to drink when your bladder feels like it's going to burst all the time.  And then the BH's kick in stronger making the whole thing worse!  It feels the same weather it's a big pee or a little tinkle!  I don't remember having this sensation as bad with DD.  It doesn't feel like a UTI at all, though.

I think I need to start making time for naps because I can't really function on this little sleep. The trips to the bathroom are getting even more frequent at night and insomnia is at an all time high, too. Yesterday I was a WRECK but still forced myself to do things to stay awake, including having 4 other boys over for a playdate during which I built our changing table and did three loads of laundry. Why am I pushing it so much? Haha.

Also this might be a weather-related thing, but I've had a constant headache for 2 days now. I don't remember this happening in the 3rd trimester with the other dudes. I remember all too well the month-long headache I got AFTER birth, but before? Need to look up if this is a thing. I know I'm hydrated enough.
