my belly button is so squished together. my hubby thinks it was hilarious to compare it to a cat butt.
any other silly belly buttons out there?

Mine looks totally normal to the average eye, I'm sure, but to me, it's so tiny! My pre-pregnancy belly button is kinda cavernous, LOL... But now that it's "shrunk" and I have a very "average" bellybutton, I can see why people get cute piercings. Because a piercing would just go through a bit of skin, etc., as opposed to on (pre-preg) me, where it would have to go through a pound of flesh, LOL...
I don't even want to look at my own belly button these days! Its totally flat and off to one side, but the top edge sticks out when I'm standing up. Looks so weird!
My belly button never completely pops out, but it's never gone completely back in PP. Could be worse. Also it is so sensitive right now! My kids love to touch it for some reason. Ouch!
i have a hideous umbilical hernia that makes the top swell out like a nose, and then there's a little crescent crease underneath. shark's mouth, snoopy nose, it's not pretty! but i got over it after the shock of learning i HAD an umbilical hernia in my first pregnancy!
Does anyone else feel like their period is about to start? I'm not talking cramps so much as kind of a heaviness in the pelvic area. I don't know- it's hard to explain. But it is the feeling I always got the day my period started. I don't know if it means anything, I just thought it was an interesting sensation that I haven't felt in 9 months.

yeah, i understand what you mean by that. between the stabbing pain in my cervix and the pelvic pressure, i feel like the baby just wants to drop out of me.
I've felt that way today for the first time. I had sex this morning for the first time in awhile, and have been in pain all day! Maybe this means the head is engaged and we're starting to dilate? I really should remember the timeline for this sort of stuff but I feel like a fish out of water today with this sudden pelvic pressure.
I haven't shared on here in a while and felt an update would be good. Might feel nice to vent about things to. So I had my daughter (3 years old) at 32 weeks and 6 days. My plans for this baby is VBAC at home but I just need to make it 37 weeks in order to do that. So I have been really hoping and praying a lot. I am 34 weeks tomorrow and so excited about that. I really have about 21 or so days to make it till I am 37 weeks.
As for my symptoms now, well I am so tired the past little while. I sleep a lot. I am hungry and thirsty like CRAZY. I can honestly open a 1L orange juice and drink the whole thing in the morning. I figure this has something to do with me still breastfeeding as well. Is anyone else having this??? I have BH pretty often, usually once a day at least. I feel fairly stiff as well in my legs and groin. I find it extremely hard to sleep at night. Recently I have noticed an increase in what looking like egg white cervical mucus. I am hoping that doesn't mean baby will come soon. I have been reading and hearing its pretty normal about this time so thats all great. Here is to hoping my baby staying in another few weeks :)

It's not really thirst related but I have been craving orange juice/oranges a lot the past week or so! Anyone else??
yes! before pregnancy i HATED oranges, they always hurt my throat. but i love orange juice now, and even bought a bag of navel oranges the other day that are super tasty.
amy-i think there is a correlation between your still breastfeeding and being super thirsty, all the mamas at la leche league feel the same way while they're breastfeeding.
the discharge seems normal to me, too. i've not had any discharge this whole pregnancy but i'm starting to have the same thing now. i'm at 36 weeks.
So this is not a third trimester symptom complaint but rather the opposite. I've honestly felt pretty crappy since June really with only a short break in early October. Suddenly I have more energy than I have since pre-pregnancy, I'm in a much more happy headspace and my symptoms seem a lot less than they were a few weeks back. I expected this jolt of energy to come to me in the second trimester and it really didn't. Anyway I launched back into a couple of design contracts I've had simmering on the back burner for months. Maybe this is my way of nesting? Not sure. I've never equated "nesting" with a spurt of creativity and business oomph but I'll take it. :)
LOL!!! TOTALLY. went grocery shopping for the first time in, well, months, and was like 'THERE'S CITRUS EVERYWHERE!!!' i wanted oranges, tangerines, grapefruit, limes, lemons and MORE. i brought home only grapefruit (always a pregnancy craving for me) and keep eating them (we don't buy juice) and limes. but man, i wanted OJ. so badly.
i too have had a lot of crazy cervical mucus, and it comes in spurts all day. it's a lot. i feel pretty effaced (checked my cervix the other day and couldn't find anything but a big squishy spot, sorry if TMI, i used to do FAM so do these things sometimes) and can tell in certain positions when making love that the cervix is very open and sensitive to the point that i have to be careful about it b/c it can cause a sharp jabbing pain just like that fist from inside.
That said, i'm not expecting anything before the end of Jan. i've done this for the last 3 pregnancies about 4 weeks before labor, so right on schedule. i am getting off my feet when the BH come and the head is low and the pressure starts in. but other than the few times i've overdone it, it seems pretty safe to say that things look good and on schedule for a 40 weeker!
Anyone else dealing with carpal tunnel symptoms? As in, achy, swollen, and sometimes useless hands that go numb at night and fingers that stay numb during the day? I'm wearing a brace on the hand I use the most, but that and the achiness are mostly debilitating and I frankly have too much to do to really "go light" with any kind of work right now. Just wondering if someone else has this now or dealt with it before and what you found helped the most :).
Haven't been to this thread in a while and it's nice to see the company I'm in. Gotta go, have to pee AGAIN. :)
I get carpal tunnel from milking my cows, it sucks because I'm not getting a machine. What I find that helps the most is wearing a brace at night and also not bending the wrist forward or backward but rather keeping it straight and trying not to make a fist unless I absolutely have to, like when milking or driving.
full on starving today. cannot eat enough. and of course i have a doctor's appointment this afternoon so when i step on the scale she can tell me i've gained 2,000 pounds since a week ago.
I have been having a ton of contractions today. In fact, on and off (with hours of regularity) all day long. Nothing more than braxton hicks with slight crampiness, though. And I remember 2 weeks worth of nighttime contx like that before DS2 was born. Trying my best to ignore them (and to get plenty of rest and fluids) but it is making this end-of-pregnancy-anticipation stuff even harder!! 37 weeks, 2 days... and sooooo READY!
...except for the part about being scared of the pain again, and nervous about caring for 3 children. anyone else?

I'll be that anyone else!!!
100%. starting tonight and today, strong BH, rhythmic, uncomfortable, not sincere.
husband saw it on my face this morning though- he could tell we've crossed into the 'final days' final weeks- weeks of feeling just BLECH and almost there....
and caring for kids! it was a 10 or more deep squats in the kitchen day!
My due date got changed from me measuring big and the ultrasound also. I'm officially 37 weeks and 1 day and so ready!!
