3rd trimester symptoms - Page 15

yes. all the crafty stuff doesn't last long and makes a huge mess, but i just can't handle going outside, we have no backyard, and i also can't chase the kids in the street right now (in 3 different directions)  we have been doing some forts lately, that entertains them for about a half hour..

we have a memebership at one of those indoor bounce-house places, i wish we could use it - but i just can't risk the germs right now :/  any day its above 50 (or 40 and sunny) i take the kids to my mom's to play in her back yard (she has a playset and i can let the 4 & 6 yr old out alone and entertain the 2 yr old indoors - she can't go out unsupervised) we also had a super mild winter last year but this year, not so much - it hasn't been wet but its been a high of 20 or 30 lately and that is just too cold to play outside for more than 10-20 mins and its not worth the mess/clothes etc. (i have zero cold tolerance right now)  to get them out for that , it just doesn't help enough - if it fixed everything that would be different.. if we just had some snow to play in i think it would be better :P 20 mins twice a day in the snow would make everyone happier ..

with the weekly midwife and chiropractor appts, plus my oldest has art class once a week, we are out 3 days a week breaking up the day, so that helps some..

Whenever it's winter I ponder WHY humans decided to live in cold climates in the first place. I guess I have chosen to live here, but my family is also around here, and blah blah blah. I often daydream about living in a warm climate. I don't think I'd even miss the seasons! Just give me warmth.

I am so irrationally annoyed at my sweet husband tonight for NO good reason. I wish knowing it was irrational would make me snap out of it.

Oh, hormones. Sigh.

Hormones are tough. My partner is also the sweetest, most caring and loving dude I've ever known. And yet last night, after almost breaking some dishes because I was mad about the state of the kitchen, I sent him out (in anger) to get me take-out. Luckily he takes it in stride. I apologize, we laugh about it, then move on.

That is exactly why I moved to Hawaii.  The warmth.  I can't handle the cold, it's just too much, all those clothes.  Funny I even get cold here and use wool socks and alpaca blankets at night when the coldest it gets is about 60.

I would kill for a low of 70 right now!

You would love to live where I am then. This morning as I look out the window everything is covered in snow and it's -4 Fahrenheit.

Oh, man, I much prefer the cold (well, the "cool" is the best, but I hate it to be too hot).  What I am hoping for is not much ice and snow this winter, which has so far been mostly true (we're semi-temperate, so in addition to some snow, get a lot of freezing rain/sleet/hail/disgusting unsafe weather).  IDK, I was born in April and my mom lived in Boston at the time-- winter lasts up through early April there some years, and she took a couple of bad spills on the ice in March.  I think that's just in my head.

when i lived in washington state last year i would head up to BC with my hubby to get out of the banana belt. i do love that the farmer's market where we lived went until christmas. but seriously. i do not like warm weather.

I prefer spring and fall - winter I could do without and super hot temps are only nice if I'm on a tropical island orngbiggrin.gif

We've had an ok winter here so far though, it is cold now this week, but not a lot of snow yet and no bad walking conditions to speak of.

after i had a traumatic head injury a few years ago i got some yaktrax. i haven't had to use them yet this year, but they are great for walking around when it's icy/snowy out. i recommend them to everyone!

I actually do have something similar - they are a lifesaver on ice!  I seem to be accident prone on slippery surfaces as it is so I'm definitely glad I have them right now just in case :)

i am now in the 'don't mind cold' party.  odd.  having enough gear and the right clothes is KEY.  i was raised in FL, CA, and Greece mostly, then Santa Fe, NM in early marriage, so oceans and sunshine and NOT COLD.  but we like the cold.  and that's good b/c Massachusetts is pretty icy frosty.  but we find it really temperate- which means we must be acclimated!!!

in July/August we drive north to Maine to get cooler weather!  and that's when it's over 90 for 3 days.....  as long as it's above 20, i like it fine.  it was 0-9 degrees a few weeks ago, too cold.

but the ice is a bit much.  i have feb/march/april babies (and yes- buko- we winter into april sometimes!!!) so the ice and last trimester are NOT fun!

love to all those husbands/partners!!!  i love that when i come on here, i can see a pattern to our insanity!  it really helps me settle down a bit (even if i can't become totally rational)!

Hey everyone!  I'm a ftm so I have no idea what's normal and what it all means.  I've had what I can only describe as prolonged cramping today.  It seems to be near the top of my uterus- it's not horribly painful, it just feels sort of like it's "catching" on something.  I've tried laying down, drinking water, walking around, etc, but it just feels sort of achy/crampy.  Maybe I'm just constipated...  Anyone have any ideas?  I'm just about 37 weeks so maybe I'm just symptom spotting eyesroll.gif

It snowed here last night (we rarely get snow, maybe once a year and only a few inches) and the boys went out and played for over an hour this morning (I, of course was following them around with my camera!) and LOVED it.. and we had a lovely relaxing afternoon afterwards. WHAT a difference it makes if we can GET OUTSIDE! The sun was shining, so even though it was cold and there were 3-4 inches of snow on the ground, we all stayed plenty warm. What a blessing today was!!! DS2 even took a NAP this afternoon.

I don't mind "cold" (down to about 40 degrees), but I much prefer mild temps of spring and fall, like 60-80's.. I don't mind 90's either, as long as it isn't super humid and I am in the shade. I guess I am fine in anything between 40-90, but our winters tend to be a little colder and the summers tend to be a little hotter. As long as it isn't raining or super windy, I am ok in the winter here.

I had a burst of energy this afternoon (after DS2's nap and my rest), and dusted/vaccumed the living room, cleaned the hall bathroom, did the dishes, swept the kitchen and dining room, and did some re-arranging of sorts. Maybe that means baby soon? ;)

So. Freaking. Tired.

Me too. Because I couldn't deal with bedtime I made a movie theater in our living room, and my kids are in their pjs watching Rio under blankets. I'm hoping they either fall asleep or stay chill enough to wait until my partner gets home to put them to bed! SO lazy.
