3rd trimester symptoms - Page 5

Hi Everyone-

I have been missing you!  We are back safe and sound from our trip to San Diego and DISNEYLAND!  We survived 2 days of non stop walking and the kids did really well with the long lines.  I ended up wearing my 26 month old in the Ergo on my front for her 2 naps while walking around.  I was feeling pretty sore by the end of the 2 hours each time.  She is getting so attached though that she doesn't want anyone else carrying her (even her Nana.... Surprising).  I think we walked at least 6 miles each day.  I am glad to be home and to sleep in my bed last night.  Now to get ready for DH's bday on Thursday and Christmas next week.

I somehow gained 4 lbs in the last 2 weeks.  Feeling like my system is very slugish and really wanting to go to the bathroom.  I think baby has dropped as I can breath easily and my belly looks really big all of a sudden (other people noticed too).

Anyways, hoping all is well with everyone!

Yes, this. Movements the last several days are so much bigger and can be a bit painful at times, depending on what little part is pushing on certain areas in there.

My DH is also super busy at work the whole month of December, late nights, extra work days etc. so I do bed time with the youngest and then he's been reading to the oldest after he gets home and eats dinner.

The last 2 days I've had to take it easy due to increased BH but also some discomfort in my upper abdomen. Abs stretching out? Don't know, but not fun. I'm going to try on the belly support band thing someone gave me and see if it helps. It was too big last time I tried it out.

A few mornings with mild nausea again but nothing too bad, probably just need to eat as soon as I get up.

Sleep has just been awful, though. Waking up in pain (hips) every day just sucks. It is so cold and early and I just have to get up or else lay there in pain. Boo.

I want carrot cake. Several pieces of carrot cake.

this isn't really pregnancy related (but going through it being pregnant has been tough!).. but DS1 has had this weird nighttime/morning cough for 3 weeks now.. and has been waking up FOR THE DAY at 4 AM!!!!!! for the last 5 days in a row. This morning we had a slight improvement of sleeping until 4:30. :/ He is normally an early riser (5:30-6) but has been waking around 4:00 coughing and can't get back to sleep. We all end up awake and sleep has been very few and far between here the last week or so. I'm so ready for a decent night, but I don't see that happening for a LOOONG time, considering I'm almost 8 months pregnant, waking to pee 5-7 times and in pain on whichever side I am currently sleeping, and then will have a newborn in a month and a half.. maybe "third time's the charm" and DS3 will be my "sleeper", but if he follows in his brothers' footsteps, I won't be sleeping more than an hour at a time until he is a year+ old.

*sigh*

ok, vent over. ;)

Oh, yeah, I had this yesterday.  RL pain?  I don't know either, but especially if I'm doing this crazy buying trip in 6 weeks, I have a feeling I'll need a belly support band.

As far as sleep and discomfort, I was getting cranky from some hip and pubic symphysis pain, along with the relaxin and side-sleeping aggravating a running injury (hamstring tendon) from last year.  I finally realized my best bet was to get a sleep wedge and lie on my back, just quite a bit elevated so I won't compress anything (until the baby is significantly bigger, anyway).  I splurged during a Black Friday sale and bought, well...  A Liberator ramp.  Sheepish.gif  Okay, the ramp/wedge combo-- I had always wanted one.  (I won't link it, as it primarily has "adult" uses, but you're welcome to Google at your own risk.)

TBH, DH and I haven't gotten the hang of it for the "intended" purpose, though we'll give that another go soon.  I get the feeling that it was designed with a man over 5'8" in mind-- or a man significantly taller than his female partner-- DH is only 2.25" taller than I am.  But I'm sure we'll figure it out.

Anyway!  lol.gif

It has actually been brilliant for sleeping, in any event.  It takes me a little longer to fall asleep on it (I think because I'm used to being able to toss and turn a bit, and I can't now), and I need to figure out a better small pillow/neck support adjunct-- and DH calls me "corpse on slab," LOL-- but I have almost NO pubic or hip or injury pain in the morning.  It's pretty awesome for now.

I'm sure there are cheaper alternatives, but what I like about the ramp is that it's so big, it's firm, it really supports you and it lifts you up quite a bit (no numbness like I often get if I roll onto on my back without pillow support).

Ooh I'm curious about the liberator ramp! I've never heard of them.

I've had upper ab pain too! Just another thing I don't remember from my other pregnancies. And YES baby is so large that the movements are painful. I wish this dude would just go head down as his transverse lie is starting to really hurt. I need to start helping him turn, I think, as I'll be 33 wks tomorrow. Yikes.

I've been getting a pain under my left ribs - she likes to stick her head there in the evenings...  This also is accompanied by that vibrating sensation that some of us were talking about a few weeks ago.  Kinda wish she'd turn too, but then it's harder on the bladder isn't it?  Win/lose situation  lol!

i get frequent foot jabs in the ribs from her. the best is when i get a foot in the rib, a fist in the abdomen, a head in the bladder and a butt out my side all at the same time. i wish i could see what she's doing in there.

So baby appeared to be head down this morning at my midwife appointment! It's possible what I've been feeling is a bum under my ribs, but then again she could be turning around still at this point so who knows.  Reassuring though to know she has turned at least temporarily!

THAT'S AWESOME!  and sometimes bum is really really round, and sometimes they get both their feet together and press and it's really round and uncomfortable.  mine's been doing that lately- making me think 'ack, head!' but then hiccups come down low again and i realize it was something else.

I still haven't felt hiccups or BH  lol!  Maybe I'm just not very observant redface.gif

my hips are so sore today!!  ..  wah!  and my baby is completely posterior (as of my midwife appt yesterday)  he has been that way since he turned head down .. i'm starting to REALLY try to turn him now..  sitting on the birth ball etc. think the hip pain might be related to the exercises i'm doing..  either way, i don't like it!  but i really really don't want a posterior baby even in the beginning of labor .. my babies have big heads as it is ..

I have a lump halfway between my navel and my ribs slightly off to the left and one on my right side pretty much constantly, which I honestly can't figure out. Every time I've been to the doctor she tells me that baby is head down, so I'm guessing one of them is a bum but the other is... feet? Knees? Whenever she gets the hiccups it echos through my crotch, so I'm confident in my doctor's assessment.

I've been having this pain in my lower abdomen for the past two weeks that radiates from my uterus through my hips and feels sort of like constant, achy period pain. I also had diarrhea for a couple days last week so my doctor checked my cervix at my last appointment but it was closed and exactly where it should have been for 32 weeks. So I guess this is just what life is going for be like for the next 7ish weeks?

Ooh, this looks fun!  I can't wait to get back into more variety of positions after this belly is out of the way.  I'm pretty restricted to one or two that will work without hurting my hips.

I switched back to our firmer bed and seem to be in less pain during the night, so that's nice.

Not much else to complain about right now, actually.  yay!  Nice for a change.  :)

i just subjected my husband to some graphic images of the liberator ramp. if it weren't so expensive we'd be all about it, because things are getting increasingly difficult these days... we just use lots of pillows. eyesroll.gif

That sounds like a bum to me! Mine switches sides daily but is also head down. When the bum makes the switch it looks like a monster is trying to escape from my belly. :)

Oh my gosh, insomnia. I've been wide awake since 2:30. Finally got up at 4:20 when I realized the odd pain I was feeling was hunger. I do NOT have a good feeling about today. I'm going to have to figure out a nap some how.

Insomnia is the worst :(.

So my MW thinks the head is down now! So I'm also experiencing the back and forth butt dance across my tummy.
