Thank Yous from FIN #6

To the mama who sent us the hot stone massage kits and earings: Thank you for these! I requested them as gifts I can give my family members, since I don't have any money to have bought them anything. The massage kit is going to my parents, and I know they will love it, and the earings are going to my sister who has been staying with us to help out with childcare while we're in school. I'm so glad I'll have something to give them to let them know I love them and appreciate them so much! THANK YOU!

To Liz: Thank you for the snow boots for my DS1! We just got a big snow storm and now I don't have to worry about him playing outside and getting too cold and wet! These are going to be very used! THANK YOU!!!

To the mama who sent Robeez shoes: All my boys wanted these when I opened them.. They are a little bigger than I thought they would be, so too big at the moment for my baby, but he'll grow into them. My 3yo insisted on wearing them around though, lol, so I know they'll be well-loved and well-used!

I hope I remembered everyone! THANK YOU to EVERYONE who has helped with this amazing project! You are all so wonderful, and I am so blessed to be a part of this community! Our family has faced a lot of set backs these last few months, and I am truly blessed that I know my children are going to have an amazing Christmas this year!

From FIN #24:

We just got home to see a PILE of boxes waiting outside our door. Wow I am just speechless. I want to laugh & cry all at once, I cannot believe the generosity that has been shown to us. We've had a rough couple of years with only worse ahead (financially, at least) for the foreseeable future and this is like a shining light in the midst of our struggles & despair.

To Ashley, who sent me shirts, a nighty, and a sweatshirt... they fit perfectly, as if by magic. I'm so happy to have something new-to-me to wear & I've already gotten a lot of use out of them!!

To the anonymous helper who sent the package of gloves for me & the coffee for DH... this is wonderful, I get so, so cold in winter, I'm so happy to be able to go out & play with DS more comfortably! And DH will be super excited to find coffee under the tree, it will be a real treat for him!

To Annie... Wow, where to start... my DS is absolutely going to LOVE everything you sent!! The music stuff, the K'nex, the CD's... and that sing-along CD player especially, I can't wait to give it to him. He spends hours & hours & hours singing every day and he is just going to go crazy over it!!

I am so blown away and grateful to everyone, all those who have generously sent us gifts as well as the HH coordinators who I've noticed working tirelessly day after day to make sure all the FIN's get their needs met. I've never been on the receiving end of something like this and it is incredibly humbling and a huge blessing. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas & holiday season and you will all be in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you. grouphug.gif

update from FIN#1

after opening presents this morning, i figured i should come and update my thank yous

to the sherman family- i didnt realize until i was wrapping presents that so much of what was sent to us was from your family. you guys are angels (and not just to us, ive seen your name in other posts :) ) ds loves the jammies- hed seen the bear brushing teeth ones somewhere before, and wanted them, so i used them for his christmas jammies that he opened last night, and he was thrilled. he likes the dinosaur ones too, and will be wearing them tonight. i LOVE the clothes that you sent me. they are so pretty and soft. i wore one of the sweaters today, and i cant wait to wear the skirt to church. on that note, ds is loving his church shoes as well. the gifts you sent for him were santa gifts, and they were way cool. that serpent thing crawls when you push the button. it was tormenting his pirates all day. it freaks the dog out too :)

to the family that sent the game- Operation was a huge hit. its changed since i was a kid, but ds loved playing it, and is actually asking to play it again right now. thanks!

to the helper who sent my mom the jeans- they got here yesterday, and look great. thanks!

to the family in canada who sent us the box of gifts- wow, thank you so much! the clothes for my mom were so pretty! ds loves the books, and put the candy canes right on the tree. the gingerbread house kit is awesome. he wanted one, but we werent able to get one. the set of hair stuff for me is just what i was needing, im wearing a headband right now, and i cant wait to use the spa stuff. and if there is anything else i cant remember, thank you for that too :) it seems like we just kept pulling presents out of the box.

to the helper who sent my mom the books- she is in heaven, shes been snuggled up with a book all day!

and to the helper who sent her the coat, she loves it. it'll keep her so warm this winter. thanks!

to the mama who sent me the shoes- theyre so sparkly, thank you!

to all the families who helped us, and who are helping others- thank you so much, and God bless you. i was feeling kind of blue, because as the only worker in our family, i dont usually get much- my mom can usually come up with a little something (thank you swagbucks, lol) and i give her $ to let ds buy me something, and while the love behind it is what matters, well, he is 5 after all, lol... anyway, i think ive opened more gifts today than i have in years. you gave our family a wonderful holiday. i dont have the words to say how much it means to me. all i can do is promise to pass on the love when i'm able to. i want to someday be able to go down the HH list and buy something for every family on there.

Merry Christmas :)

Oh no!  I thought I had posted this a good while ago but the "Wrapping it Up" thread made me want to look at this forum one more time, and looks like I flubbed it on the first try beacuse not there. Sorry if I left my sweet helpers hanging!  Anyways, this is FIN#10 and I need to send a big thank you to the family who sent the box with the recycling truck and puzzle, and also to the family who sent us the little DC shoes, snow boots, and ladies shoes. Everything arrived  perfect and much appreciated by all!  Although, I must share a little funny, when I requested the ladies shoes on the IHA thread I somehow missed that they would be elegant sky high heels, which would be super comical on me as I feed goats out here on the side of a mountain in the boonies. BUT, happy ending, I regifted them to a friend's daughter (super low income family, so meant a lot) who can wear them to sizzle her way through a high school valentine dance--whoo hoo! Thank you to these 2 families and all of our helpers and the fearless organizers and volunteers--it was a beautiful christmas and we are facing the new year bolstered by your kindness.

THANK YOU so much to Tracy who sent us the Target gift card.  It was such a wonderful, wonderful surprise to get in the mail today.  I almost ended up throwing it away..thinking it was just another piece of junk mail when the gift card fell out.  I had to piece together the pieces of paper to see the gift message.  THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!  This is such a blessing and will be so much appreciated!!!
