Have you started thinking about names yet?

Maybe it's having a toddler, but I just haven't had as much time to sit and daydream about this baby. Last pregnancy, we were already on our short list of names by this time. :LOL Of course, we were convinced that ds was a girl, so when he was born, it was back to the starting block. What about you guys? Any names picked out yet? Do you like to see your babies before you make a final decision, or do you name, and hope the baby grows into it?

i started coming up with names as soon as DD was born ;-p we have it narrowed down to a few. i like to try it out while i am pregnant and see if the name works, and i usually *feel* when a name is right.

A boy will be Clinton Douglas.
Clinton for our best friend and Douglas for my grandfather, who raised me.

A girl is more complicated. We love Pia, but are afraid of the jokes that would come with name in the USA. : We understand all names can be turned into the butt of a joke, but we think that one might be really asking for it. We SOOO love the name, though. I know a girl, about 18, named Pia. I'll ask her what her opinion is one of these days.

we haven't even talked about it yet. occasionally i kick around names in my head, but no more that before i was pregnant. i actually caught myself saying next time maybe we'll call the baby _ and then realized that *this is next time :LOL last time we didn't find a name we really loved until a week before she was born and once we settled on it, we knew it was perfect for her. we went through many variations on the way that sounded good at first and then didn't feel right the next day/week

names

Our last child was Quinn Maxfield -we called him the Mighty Quinn. It was the perfect name for him. The next one Hub wants to name Phoenix, as in rising from the ashes (very appropriate), but we haven't decided if it will be a middle name or a first name. And then we aren't positive about the sex, so although I am kicking around names, I haven't settled on anything yet. Luckily I have about 8 months to think about it, though

We have been kicking around some names, but dh doesn't really want to talk about it yet. He'll feel better about everything once I get past the first trimester!

We have first and middle names picked out for both, along with nicknames!! I'm almost sad because I always thought I'd enjoy picking out names, but it was really easy for us to agree on names we both love and find meaningful, so there it is!

We are going to name him Emmett.See how sure i am of what 'he' is

I don't know for a girl though.I wanted to name my first Lily and i have always adored it so it will be a consideration.

Jaclyn, I like Pia too, but I would worry about the possible nicknames too. I guess you just have to decide HOW much you like it.
Raven ~ Emmett is a great name! it gives me a certain picture in my head. I like it!

I like Levy for a boy (pron. Lev-ee), but it's just a fancy I have. Besides, I can't think of any fitting middle names. And last pg, we were going to call the baby Stella, but he came out with the wrong parts. I'm just not sure that this babe feels like a Stella, kwim?

There is actually a boy from my past with the same name and even though the experience wasn't all that great i still love the name! Gideon will be the middle name

I've been thinking about them here and there. Dh isn't real interested in having a discussion about that just yet though. He is adamant that if the child is a boy it'll be an Eric Jr. I'm not crazy about the idea though. There are so many boys names that I'd much rather use! Girls are a bit harder. With two girls already, we're out of names!

Mylo said today that he wants to call the new baby Big Bird. :LOL

With our 2nd dd we had 2 girls' names picked out and ended up using a completely different name after she was born.

This time I really love Ruby for a girl but of all strange things I was with my mom a couple of weeks ago (the first time in 5 months I had seen her) and there was a little baby nearby and her mom called her Ruby. We left the store and my mom was like "Ruby??!! that reminds me of... " and she went on and on about how she didn't like it : and she doesn't even know I'm pregnant yet. Maybe I will just let her learn to like it. sigh.

A good friend of mine suggested I try calling the name like you would call to a child out the back door for dinner and see if it still sounds good. Works for me

i think ruby is a beautiful name

Haven't picked out names, but have thought about it

I LOVE the name Ruby, and it's very high up there on my list of names. :-) My dh says, it goes well with Jade. I feel sure that this will be another girl babe, but I was SURE that Nova was a boy, and was proven wrong. Jade I was right about though. We will see.

on the opposite side, i've been thinking and i've come up with lots of names that i love, but i already know that they aren't right for *this* baby. i don't know why i called that the opposite :LOL anyways, now that i think a little more, i guess that's exactly what happened with dd until 1 week before she was born. i suppose it'll come to us eventually

We've got a boy name & a girl name picked out. A nice little theme going on between the new names and the current DS, of famous African American musicians. I was actually really upset that recently I overheard that someone else in town had taken our first pick, Seamus, and in this town I'm afraid he'd always be the "other" Seamus, kwim? Didn't fit with the theme, anyway! I'm afraid to say the two names we've picked out b/c I don't know any & I'd like it to stay that way.

I've had Aiden picked out forever...and for a girl I *love* Calista. I mentioned Aiden to dh (even before I was reggo) and he gave it the . He's not totally sold on Calista, but it is apparantly a moot point as he has decided we are going to have another boy... :LOL
