How many TOTAL months have you shared a family bed with your children? - Page 2

36 months and counting. While I love co-sleeping, I do look forward to the day we can finally move into a bigger apartment and my daughter can have her own room. Knowing her she'll still want to sleep with us though. I'm fine with it and will enjoy it, but it'll be nice to have the bed for ourselves even just a couple of hours a night. winky.gif

About 84 months here. Sometimes we still do, but not as as much as i would like.

147 months total.

147 months for ds1 (I doubt he'll ever leave!)

30 months for dd1

49 months for dd2 ( I originally typed 149.  She is only 5!  Clearly a mistake!)

33 months for dd3

I counted bedsharing as when they start and end the night in my bed.  If they have their own bed and  start in their own bed but join me every night at 1am that doesn't count.

13 months and counting with our DD who is 13 mo old.

30 months with DD and then she moved to her own bed in our room for 8 months. Now she is in her own room.

She, and we, slept better with her in her own bed in our room where we could crawl in with her if she needed a cuddle. She is the type to sleep ALL.OVER.THE.PLACE

And 2 weeks so far with our 2 week old twin boys.

Since my oldest was 3 months old, and he just turned 11 a month ago.  So...  130 months.  Wow!  Currently there are 4 of us in the bed; me and dh, our 3yo and our 6 week old.  I guess I have about another 36 months of full time co-sleeping ahead of me.

My only child is 2 and 1/2 and we still enjoy co-sleeping and nursing.  I love it.  However, reading that some people co-sleep till age 7 has me a bit nervous.  However, if you had asked me 3 years ago if I would be co-sleeping for this long I would have thought you were crazy just to ask.  So, won't know till I get there - but we love it now!

My month count is zero right now....expecting my first in Feb, but had a co-sleeping question....  Do y'all sleep with your pets too?  I have a little Italian greyhound who is our cuddle bug and can't imagine kicking her out of the bed, but worried about her pushing the baby or cuddling too close or whatever... Any thoughts/suggestions?  Thanks

My dog slept in bed with me for a few months after my first daughter was born, but then she started to try to cuddle by laying on top of both my daughter and I so I had to kick her out of my bed, but my dog weighs a little over 100 pounds, I don't think you'll have a problem with yours, she's little. The worst thing that happened to us, is when my second daughter was 1, my oldest was 2 and she pushed her out of my bed in the middle of the night, they squish each other all the time. The worst that happens if one gets squished against the wall is they wake up very unhappy so I move them and situate them a little better and they go right back to sleep. I honestly don't think you'll have a problem with your little cuddle bug. :)

If a 100lb dog and a baby can sleep together, I guess I don't have to worry so much! Thanks!

hmm....mine's a little choppy. The kids were both choosing to sleep in their own beds most of the time from about age 5, but went through phases over the years when they would join me. From about 2010 the kids have come in less and less and less. I think the last time anyone actually SLEPT in our bed was around last Christmas. Dd sometimes likes to come in for bed time snuggles and a story, but then returns to her own bed to sleep.

I'd estimate around 150 months or so? 171, if you count all the months it was an option - even if the kids didn't choose that option.
