Let's talk food, appetite, etc.

My appetite is disappearing. I guess that might go along with a growing uterus and a squished stomach? I dunno but man... For a while there I craved EVERYTHING and NOTHING at the same time. Now, stuff sounds good but I can't eat very much of it or I don't feel like eating period. These next 20ish weeks will be interesting if this sticks around.

I wish that would happen to me!

I have an appetite for EVERYTHING! I just want food all the time. Except for today. Today, every time I take a bite of something, I get so nauseous. I think it may have something to do with the sinus infection that I am getting over. But it's awful. I haven't been so sick for weeks.

TIFF4NY I have been having a similar experience the last few days. While I am hungry as soon as I eat I feel full. Uncomfortably so!

Tiff4ny, I'm with you! For a few weeks there (after the m/s stopped), I needed to eat every 2 hours. Now I'm down to maybe three small-ish meals a day.

My appetite is growing steadily in the 2nd trimester! I just need to get active again to try to keep the effects in check! At least I am trying to eat a balance of things and limit the splurges.

Felt stuffed after dinner tonight. I guess its bloating? Any way to remedy the issue?

Eat smaller - more frequent meals?

Avoid certain foods?

Hope this doesn't last for the next 20 weeks.

I'm having some similar issues. It's so bad some days, it takes me five or six times as long as it should to eat a meal/snack. The other day, I wanted macaroni and cheese, so I made it, and started eating, but about three or four bites in, I couldn't eat any more. Then about five minutes later, the same thing. I went through that for about forty-five minutes before I gave up and gave the rest to DF, even though I was still hungry. I hope that doesn't happen often or last the rest of this pregnancy. I never had it with either of my other two.

I feel like a toddler grazing through the day. I still have some odd nausea from time to time so I eat little snacks to keep it at bay. I also have noticed I don't eat as much as I used to in 1 sitting. I'll take that as a bonus. :)

Still hitting the protein and fat hard.  I eat a lot.  I wouldn't say I eat frequently, just my normal 3 a day, but I do eat a lot.  I don't get heartburn and never feel stuffed or overly full.  I have a loooong torso, so I suppose it is just the way my babies are tucked up in there.

A side effect of my medication is appetite suppression, which works out well for me actually, since I'm an emotional/boredom eater. But if I forget to take my pill in the morning I want to eat everything ever. Actually, I should probably go have a snack. Sometimes I have to remember to make myself eat if I don't want to feel terrible later in the day.

I'm having a really hard time with food these days too greensad.gif Nothing sounds good. I work a lot and rarely have a chance to pack food to bring with me so I end up eating a lot more fast/convenience foods then I'm comfortable with. 3 bites and I'm uncomfortably full and often nauseous, terrible heart burn and indigestion, you name it. This is NOT one of my favorite parts of pregnancy, that's for sure!
