Health Outcomes of Vaccinated, Partially Vaccinated and Unvaccinated Children and Adults

The purpose of this survey is to measure any differences of immediate and long-term health outcomes (including autism, ADHD, allergies, asthma . . .) of children and parents who are not vaccinated, partially vaccinated and fully vaccinated within the same family and for all participants combined. It will also ask about infertility, miscarriage, prematurity, vaccinations given during pregnancy and the number of vaccines given at the same time.  The survey will also measure any differences in health outcomes across two and three generations.

Pre-registration is open and the target date for survey distribution is December 3, 2012.

David recently retired from a local health department after serving five years. His career spans forty years as a licensed environmental, health and safety professional. He has developed environmental, health and safety programs for Toyota, GM, Ryder, Firestone, Marathon Oil Co., military and government agencies and provided guidance to hundreds of others. He was formerly Chairman of the Environmental Resource Institute. He is a proponent for vaccination choice and informed consent. His main interests are health education and communications. Now, he consults and speaks on a variety of topics and is the publisher of the Journal of Natural Food and Health.

Project Director has a MSc and PEng qualification.  He is not a medical professional.

 Only people that are medical professionals can conduct studies or surveys?

If the study is trying to take into account factors such as prematurity and infertility, a medical background (as opposed to an engineering background) would be reassuring, yes.

And this is hardly a random sampling survey, if he's soliciting people on his website, which has as the headline "Flu Shots May Cause Autism".

Do you know if he is soliciting people in any other ways than on his website? I would be interested in this.He clearly states he is looking for people that have all kinds of opinions on the matter - so this may be advertised in areas where fully vaxed folks hang out. Who knows. As for his background - this is a survey, not a study. He is not claiming to be doing anything but conducting a survey.  I think the results may provide some food for thought and useful information regardless of the "project director's" background,

I think the most concerning thing is that he is soliciting donations for his project. This is certainly not acceptable protocol for any sort or research project. Makes me wonder if the whole thing is a money making scam for him.

It sounds like he's leaving a lot of room for self selection, which is a huge potential source of bias.

I doubt donations of 5 or 10 bucks is going to make this guy a fortune. Anyway Lots of organizations fund research and solicit donations on a regular basis. If he was soliciting for donations for the project but the project was being run by someone else be more acceptable for you?

If it were a registered 501(c) non profit with a board of directors overseeing operations, I'd feel that was more acceptable.  As it appears, it's some Joe Blow on the internet who runs a self-published newsletter.

He ought to try Big Pharma. I'm sure Merck or Glaxo$mithKline would be happy to fund his survey.
