So my question is will it do any good to start late in the game? Say 4 weeks? shy.gif

This is my last babe so I'm ready to get a my body back, hope I'm not too late to start binding...

I don't think 4 weeks is too late, if you are consistent about wearing it as often as you can. I know that they say women can also do postpartum hip binding to reduce the circumference of the hips, and that you can start any time within the first 6 weeks because relaxin levels are still high. Not sure if that has anything to do with belly binding, but certainly if you have any level of abdominal separation the binding will help knit that back together. It's gotta be worth a shot, right?

Bumkin I am trying out  the tuppler technique ( a book with the unfortunate title of "lose your mummy tummy").

I bought it a year or more after my first when a mama at a baby wearing meeting suggested it. I was still having problems with ab strength and it made baby wearing painful. I kind of forgot about it, but am attempting to do a better job this time. She also recommends binding and the whole thing is about how to fix the diastasis. If anyone wants to do this with me I would love the "company".

I only had slight separation with my first, but i didnt realize it for months and months. I'm interested in hearing more about this tuppler technique!

Ditto for me! I'm binding now anyway so we'll see if it helps too.

Distasis Recti.

A good 6+ months after my first was born I had lost a good part of the 40lbs I'd put on during pregnancy and i was doing circuit weight training and ab work, but I still had a belly pouch. It wasn't terrible but pre-pregnancy I had actually had a very flat stomach and a six pack (from my earlier days as a gymnast) and nothing I did seemed to get rid of my belly. Then I read a thread on here entitled something "skinny with a big belly?" And that's where I first heard about distasis Recti. So i did the little self-test (like they do in that youtube video) and realized I had a mild case of it. And it turns out that conventional able exercises can actually make it WORSE. So no crunches or bicycle kicks if you've got it!

Ahh, I love it! I've been wanting to do a shot like that, but baby is already 9 days old, is that too late?

you both look great!

Not too late, kitteh! My belly shot wasn't late enough (37 weeks and I delivered at 39.2) and my newborn picture was later than I had wanted (she was 2 weeks or so).
