Anyone else SPOTTING (or did in the past) in their first trimester!?

No cramping, just spotting, even a litte bright red, fresh blood last night!  Scared me, but it didnt continue.  It's usually just a few brown spots daily, sometimes pink when I wipe, but usually brown.  My midwife is scaring me, telling me to wean my older child, and I could miscarry due to the breastfeeding + spotting, or have a preterm delivery later on.  Experiences please ladies :)  In my previous pregnancies I spotted as well, barely with my first, although lots with my second (which I was also breastfeeding in, and turned out fine, but I am still nervous)

You may want to check out this thread for a lot of stories from other mamas who had spotting and it turned out ok.

I had bleeding with three out of six of my pregnancies. One ended in m/c and the other two, well, they are 5 and 2 now. :)
