As far as sleep and discomfort, I was getting cranky from some hip and pubic symphysis pain, along with the relaxin and side-sleeping aggravating a running injury (hamstring tendon) from last year.  I finally realized my best bet was to get a sleep wedge and lie on my back, just quite a bit elevated so I won't compress anything (until the baby is significantly bigger, anyway).  I splurged during a Black Friday sale and bought, well...  A Liberator ramp.  Sheepish.gif  Okay, the ramp/wedge combo-- I had always wanted one.  (I won't link it, as it primarily has "adult" uses, but you're welcome to Google at your own risk.)

TBH, DH and I haven't gotten the hang of it for the "intended" purpose, though we'll give that another go soon.  I get the feeling that it was designed with a man over 5'8" in mind-- or a man significantly taller than his female partner-- DH is only 2.25" taller than I am.  But I'm sure we'll figure it out.

Anyway!  lol.gif

It has actually been brilliant for sleeping, in any event.  It takes me a little longer to fall asleep on it (I think because I'm used to being able to toss and turn a bit, and I can't now)-- and DH calls me "corpse on slab," LOL-- but I have almost NO pubic or hip or injury pain in the morning.  It's pretty awesome for now.

I'm sure there are cheaper alternatives, but what I like about the ramp is that it's so big, it's firm, it really supports you and it lifts you up quite a bit (no numbness like I often get if I roll onto on my back without pillow support).

Okay, I googled it and I'm pretty interested. I've had a really hard time figuring out ways to sleep without being in pain (mostly my hips.) I'm a little confused as to how you're laying on it though.

Sami, I have my hips on the bed/mattress, and the whole rest of me is lying-- like "corpse on slab," according to DH-- "flat" on my back with my head much higher on the incline of the ramp.  In other words, my torso from waist up is at about a 30-40 degree angle.  I put a very small/thin pillow under my head and neck, between me and the ramp (the ramp is very firm).   I hope that makes sense?

I guess kinda like this:

Except the ramp is much larger, so at 5'2", my head doesn't reach the top of the ramp like that.  And my little head pillow is much thinner.

Ah, okay. That looks pretty comfy, but I just can't sleep on my back. :/

Bringing up the rear, here, finally hit 27 weeks! smile.gif Feeling a little more tired again, and appreciating naps more, but not too bad. Baby kicking is getting stronger, which is super fun, though last night I had a dream that it was kicking hard enough I could feel the feet from the outside, and then other people could too, and then thought maybe we could feel *four* feet, and then I pulled aside my clothes to look, and I could SEE four feet, and then I freaked out because you're not supposed to be able to see baby parts from the outside, and it meant my baby was falling out. Ugh. Everything still seems to be all internal in the daylight hours. smile.gif

Can't believe there are only a few more months left! And only a couple months until people on here start having their beautiful babies! biggrinbounce.gif

OMG!!! I know!!! It's so exciting to think that babies will start showing up in (possibly less than) eight weeks... YAY!!!

For the past two days, I've felt really pregnant. Anyone else feeling this way? I think LO has had a growth spurt or something because, literally overnight, I suddenly feel so front heavy, and I feel babe right down in my pubic area. She has been high all pregnancy, and even though no one else is noticing it, I feel like she is settling her head into my pelvis. I have also noticed when I walk for more than an hour, my lower back (like where my pelvic bones and back bones meet up) aches like crazy. Being that I am 31 weeks now, this seems right on target. But, sheesh, it's no fun.

I feel hugely pregnant lately also. I also feel like he may have already dropped! He seems so low, I can feel his head when he turns it, and it hurts! Actually all his movements have become really painful. Like I am really sensitive inside my uterus.my first was born at 37 weeks, I'm really hoping this one follows her lead. I have ever been so uncomfortable, this pregnancy has been rough. It may very well be my last because of that. greensad.gif

This is my last baby for sure, and I'm trying to treasure it. I have a feeling this is going to be a big (for me) baby - DS was 6 14, DD was 7 12. both gestated to 41+6. I really hope this LO doesn't go as long, for so many reasons (my practice appears to be in the process of changing their VBAC policies, and while my usual doc appears to be fine with me going past my due date, some of the others I may rotate to see may not) - and I really, really, hate those last couple weeks where I'm "still" pregnant. You can only get so much satisfaction from the shock on people's faces when you tell them "oh, 12 days ago" when they ask when you're due.

This baby changes positions frequently - he stretches alot (or he's just big) because I feel him in my ribs and down in my pelvis at the same time quite often. Also, I'm short, so there's not a ton of room in there anyway. I *think* he's head down most of the time.

At any rate, I'll likely being be ramping up what natural induction methods I can around 39 or so weeks. Baby will come when he's ready, I know. But if I can help him along any, I'm more than happy to!
