Quick update.. I think Jaimee pretty much summed up all the action!

Coralie has 12 teeth now. She still wakes 2-4 times a night. It's worse when she's sick or teething. My kids have been sick a lot this year too. We joined a gym and the daycare is getting them sick every time. I might have to give it up, it's too annoying to be sick a lot!

I feel great. I'm a very boring pregnant girl. All I do is get fat. *Knock on wood* LOL My DH is stoked. He's been wanting this to happen since... April. LOL I'm freaking out about having two so close together... But I know it'll all end up okay.

Because I never really had a TRUE period after coming off BCP, so they wanted to see how far along I was. They do quants first, so they don't "waste" an U/S. They're doing another Quant on Wed. morning, then they'll schedule my first appt. and U/S after that comes back... When they have a clearer idea of how far along I am. Although, which how low my HcG was, I KNOW I conceived on the 19 or 21. LOL Those are the only two options... And I tested last weekend and they were NEGATIVE, so those two days are IT. Which puts my due date at 9/11 or 9/13. Let's see if my doctor is as smart as I am without telling him what I know. ;-)

hCG levels vary greatly from women to women so they really don't do any good at estimating how far along you are.  But nice doubling times do let you know that it's a viable pregnancy (I guess so they don't "waste" the u/s).  But honestly, it doesn't make much sense to do an u/s until around 8 weeks so that you can confirm the heartbeat and estimate a due date.  Before then you get either no heartbeat or a very slow one b/c it's too early.  I dunno, if it were me, I'd wait until you think you're around the 8 week mark for an u/s.  But that's me.  I don't like unnecessary u/s.   As for dating... why the 19 or 21?  Remember that you do not conceive the day you DTD, you conceive the day you ovulate.  Do you recall a few days of fertile cervical fluid those days?  When did you go off the pill and when was your bleeding again?  I like doing this sort of detective work.

I went off the pill the 17th of November, bled the 26-29... I don't remember any more juices, LOL, but I honestly wasn't paying attention. I say the 19/21 because those are the only days we had sex besides the 14... And if it happened the 14, I most likely would have gotten positives last weekend when I was testing. I know it's the days I ovulate but I don't know when that was, so I'm going by when we DTD haha.

And they'll do the US around the 8 week mark, that's why they're trying to get a goods idea of how far along I am.

Omgoodness!  I missed that you guys are dealing with the pox!  I thought that it didn't take when you were last exposed!  Well, that's awesome that you're almost done!  How has it been?

Jaimee, pox is no fun. O caught a mild case after nearly half a dozen exposures (accidental exposure followed by, well, since they were already exposed, sure they can play together) he broke out. He said he would have rather had the vaccine. He passed it to Ari (hundreds of pox, not so much crappy feeling) and Soren. Soren had a couple dozen small spots, a handfull of big ones and fever of 103.5 for a couple of days. He was cranky, took a lot of baths and slept quite a bit. Shay now has about a dozen pinprick size blisters and so it begins.

Nicole...  So I assume you were on the 28 day pill such that you still ovulate around CD14 and get AF around CD28 is that right?  Depending on how you were taking the pills and the type, you might expect AF during the last row of 7 pills and make the guess that ovulation occurred about 12-14 days prior.   Did you stop on the 17th b/c you were done with a pack?  Done with the placebos too, or just the hormone pills?  Or did you just stop randomly?  Where you were in the pack could help us pinpoint O for November.

If we assume that your bleeding was a true period, that would have put November's ovulation around November 12-14 and predict December's ovulation for 12/9 (based on averages, of course... every woman is different!).  You mentioned DTD on the 14th, 19th, and 21st... of November?  If you ovulated around the 9th of December, then none of those BDing sessions would be relevant to ovulation in December.  So when did you DTD in December?

CD 1    11/26-29 bleeding

CD 14  12/9 possible ovulation

CD 28  12/23 expected AF

CD 31  12/26 HPT+ possibly 17 dpo

CD 32  12/27 B+ possibly 18 dpo (3.5 weeks pregnant as they say)

This is what your doctor is assuming and your hCG levels are around the median for this far along.

If you think that your bleeding was breakthrough bleeding or the rare implantation bleeding, not AF, and that you caught the egg in November...  then O was not as assumed.  Implantation occurs between 8 and 10 dpo 84% of the time.  So if it were implantation bleeding we might assume this:

CD 10  11/14 DTD

CD 14  11/18 possible O

CD 15  11/19 DTD

CD 17  11/21 DTD

CD 22-25 11/26-29 possible implantation bleeding at 8-11 dpo

In this scenario, your BDing sessions of the 14th and the 19th could catch that egg if O occurred around the 18th.  However, if this were true, your hCG levels are extremely low for how far along you would be.  99% of women would have high enough levels to test positive by 14 dpo.  If you said you had an HPT- on 12/22 then this is highly unlikely.  On 12/22 you would have been like 34 dpo and almost 6 weeks pregnant.  While this can happen, it's not likely.

If you're thinking it's breakthrough bleeding around the time of expected AF, that shifts things slightly to even more unlikely.

CD 14  11/12 possible O

CD 16  11/14 DTD

CD 21  11/19 DTD

CD 23  11/21 DTD

CD 28-31 11/26-29 possible hormonal bleeding around expected AF 14-17 dpo

In this scenario, none of your BDing sessions line up with O, unless you had some earlier in the month.  But this would also make you even farther along.

So with all this in mind, my best guess would be that your doctor is close... that you are indeed around 3-4 weeks pregnant.  But I know I'll be very excited to hear the results of your u/s in about a month!

Does anybody here suffer from acid reflux? I'm having it so badly that I'm coughing uncontrollably sometimes, waking out of sleep, have a nearly constant sore throat, and am just uncomfortable more often than not. I think it might be a side effect of my antidepressant. I've been doing so well on it, so I'm leery of adjusting it or going off of it... I can't handle this reflux anymore, though. In the meantime while I figure out what to do about the med, does anyone know any natural remedies for helping decrease reflux?

Sorry to hear it Joanie!  Are you doing full GAPS right now?  Could anything you're doing with that be affecting things?  Otherwise, natural remedies for reflux are things like yogurt, aloe vera juice, papaya enzymes, sleeping slightly upright (propped on pillows or propping the head of the bed a bit) and of course, tracking the triggers if you think it's food related.

Thanks, Jaimee. I'm on the detox right now that my doctor recommended. I've been feeling amazing in every other way ever since I started it (basically been vegan for 10 days now in this first stage). The reflux definitely worsened a few days into the detox, but my meds were also upped days prior, so I don't know if it's A) the meds B) the supplements or C) the dietary change. I'm hoping it's the supplements because I only have 11 days left of them.

I was so embarrassed at a job interview yesterday when I started coughing uncontrollably and they had to get me water and wait to continue until I could get things under control.

My BCP didn't have a Placebo. It was Jolivette,the mini pill. Progesterone only. I ran out on the 17, which is why I quit taking it. I had my annual exam the 21, had a 3-day bleed... My period, I guess, the 26-29 of November... DTD the 5, 6, 8, 14, 19, and 21 of December. With Conner, I ovulated the 19 of February and tested positive the 1st of March... 10DPO... But they were super faint. I didn't get a strong positive until 13DPO. So that's why I think I ovulated later than normal. I had two negative tests on the 22/23 of December then got my first positive (Strong positive) on the 27th. I think my body was still trying to regulate since quitting BC. I don't think I ovulated until around the 14... So maybe my BD on the 14 caught it.

Some supplements will definitely irritate your stomach. Are you taking everything with food and a glass of water? Are you lying down within 30-60 min of taking any of your meds? My antidepressant will upset my stomach if I don't take it a certain way.

Nicole, those BD sessions on the 5th, 6th, and 8th certainly explain things!  You quite possibly caught O-4, O-3, and O-1... the latter most likely resulting in the pregnancy.  It's not uncommon to get HPT- on 11 and 12 dpo (the 22nd and 23rd).  You may have had slightly later implantation such that the embryo hadn't released enough hCG to test positive that point.  But it's also entirely possible that you had later O and the 14th or 19th caught the egg either on the 13th/14th or 18th/19th, putting you at 8-13dpo for your first HPT+.  I doubt the 21st, though, b/c that would put you at 5 or 6dpo with the first HPT+ and that is very, very unlikely if not impossible to cause a BFP.

I am taking everything with water for sure, but not always with food. I'm not supposed to take my thyroid medication with food in the morning, so I've been taking that solely with water along with my antidepressants at the same time. Hmm. Even if I just drink water, I start having it come up and make me cough. Ugh. I'm not lying down within 30-60 min of taking any of my meds. I sure can't lay flat anymore with this happening.  It is the worst when I'm lying down, but it still happens sporadically sometimes even if I've been upright for hours. Like today at work I was sitting there for 4 hours at a computer and made the mistake of eating a clementine and an apple in that time. I started coughing towards the end of my shift and couldn't stop, so I tried sucking on a coughdrop (which only helped for a few minutes). I'm paranoid everywhere I go that I'm going to have an attack and have all eyes on me. Everyone always stops in their tracks and asks me if I'm alright because I have tears stream down my face and have to catch my breath. 

On the plus side, it doesn't hurt at all. Not like heartburn or anything.

Audrey still wakes up a ton at night.  I have to nurse her back to sleep 5 or 6 times a night and it is definately getting old.  We all came down with the super flu on Christmas so we have kids coughing all night on top of it all.  This is a little strange but since she has been sick, I have been able to get her back to sleep by cuddling her up in the crook of my arm.  That is how she slept as a newborn for the first 6 weeks.  My arm falls asleep but at least I don't have to nurse her everytime she wakes up. Baby steps!    She also has been going right down to sleep without a fuss.  It usually takes about an hour of her crawling all over me and messing around in bed to get her to finally settle down.  I'm sorry she has been sick but I hope this continues on after she is feeling better!

we found something that made our acid reflux better (my husband tried soooooo many things). It has helped so much that we went from daily reflux to almost no reflux. I am not sure if any of you have heard of tissue salts? They are awesome. we take the one made by New Era tissue salts Combination C. http://well.ca/products/new-era-tissue-salts-combination-c_21030.html. Honestly life has been so much better since my hubby discovered them. Worth trying if you can find them. I love tissue/cell salts

Eli hasn't nursed at night in months. He has slept through the night for the last 3 nights which has been such a relief for me after months of crappy sleep. He has also deviated from his one 2 hour nap to two or three shorter naps spread out through the day. So thankful for good sleep...

Oh yeah... Thyroid med rules. Oops. I forgot about that. I've been taking it for so long I just take it. But I do the same thing... I take both in the morning with water. And coffee. And food if I get around to it. I hope it's the supplements. Like I said, lots of them are irritating. Dsd has trouble with the ones she takes. Hopefully it will go away when you stop taking them!

Jill, I'm sorry you are having the same night waking issues. I know from her baby book that dd1 was sleeping through the night in her own room by 11 months. I envy my past.
